Definitely has that Thunder Force IV feel, right down to the very prominent PSG sounds. And that is a very good thing. What an awesome remix. My only complaint is how muffled the SNES voice samples are compared to how they were originally. Maybe it's because how loud the Genesis music is? Idk. I think the SNES one did feel more natural than this, but it still kicks ass. I'm making this an MP3 for my personal listening.
I tired to make them sound extremely bitcrushed due to the Master system sound chip not being able to produce native PCM. TBH, I'm not really fond of this version looking back, the guitars just don't sound like the ones in the Thunder Force title theme.
I call it the Master system sound chip because the PSG was carried over as the Genesis/Megadrive was built on top of that console. This was done for backwards compatibility.
Just a tip for you with your hardware channel set up. There's no need to use the PSG channels to do PCM on the Genesis. With very well timed code you can actually get up to 4 PCM channels running off of 6th FM channel. However it requires really well timed code to do it. 2 PCM channels is very doable though and a few commercial games like Street Fighter 2 and Alien Soldier do it. So if you have a sound driver that can do it you could have 5 FM channels, 2 PCM, 3 PSG, and 1 white noise.
It's like someone took a Genesis sound card and divided it by zero. In other words, it's fucking awesome
I sub-consciencly was expecting the original TF4 title to play at first,
It's scary how both songs are similar...........yet fucking AWESOME.
@MetaMario9
I'm talking about the guitar riff in the background, it sounded alot like the one in the Power Rangers theme.

Patch93 Master System?

Patch93 But the sample channel on the Genesis was capable of better samples.

The sixth channel was being used for the FM drums though. You can't have the sixth channel playing FM and DAC samples at the same time.
