thanks for the help i now have 3.5.2. now i have a nother quest, can a lay down a track in pattern mode then mix it down & burn it ? are do i have to lay the beat down in sequence mode
Hi Mike, thanks for your informative videos. I am looking to buy an MV. I have a question. I have been a SP808 (I don't know if you are familiar with its functionality)user since '99 and utilise the step recording, I like to programme the drums into a phrase then go back and chop it more and move bits around in the sequencer. Is this ability present in the MV? cheers, Duncan
The SP-808 was ONLY a phrase sampler / sequencer, it didn't have the traditional functionality of a MIDI sequencer. The MV has both a phrase based sampler section which is the audio tracks section and a traditional sampler with full on MIDI sequencer. You basically have the best of both worlds with the MV, you have SP-808 functionality alongside MPC style functionality. The MV is way more capable than the SP-808.
+Mike Acosta great thanks Mike. Probably gona take me a while to get up to the kind of work flow I can do on my 808, but could be fun learning. I guess you could record bits in the audio tracks, phrases with effects over etc, chop them up then assign them to pads and use the midi sequencer to sequence them, therefore having access to loads of tracks?

You can chop up any audio sample period plus the resampling capabilities, sequence something with the MIDI sequencer and resample that, chop it up and lay it down al over again. Theres so much you can do its really a fun piece of gear.
But you do need to have the VGA card / adaptor installed as the MV-8000 did not come with one out of the box it was an optional expansion until the MV-8800 which came with it installed as part of the factory unit.
HEY MICHEAL TRANCE, I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS. 1. HOW/WHERE DO I HOOK UP A MICROPHONE TO THE MV 8000? 2. HOW DO I IMPORT THE TRACK FROM A MOV. FILE TO A MP3? 3. HOW DO I EXPAND A BEAT INTO A 3 OR 4 MINUTE INSTRUMENTAL? I KNOW THE LOOP BUTTON BRINGS BACK A 4 BEAT LOOP, BUT I WANT TO EXPAND THE BEAT TO AT LEAST 4 MINUTES, AND TRANSFER IT TO A 4 MINUTE BEAT.
1. Audio inputs on the back. If its a condenser mic you'll need a mic pre that has phantom power. 2. You cant. The MV only supports .WAV and .AIFF and MPC .SND 3. Copy and paste in song mode.
