    Nice presentation. They were reluctant in letting you fly midfield over LGAV for two reasons. Even though its not forbidden, they are a bit cautious in letting single engine non native Greeks fly over the city center in case of engine trouble. Acropolis has a Prohibited zone but this is a small portion of the city. Practically you have no emergency landing options over the city. In LGAV they are simply afraid of light GA crossing overhead because it gives them more workload in coordinating the VFR flight between Tower West and Tower East sectors and the extremely rare case of a missed approach by an airliner at, say, 2~4 miles out on the ILS. In practice the IFR will not be separated with the VFR and this is their issue. So most of the times they (LGAV TWR who relay it to Athens TMA Info.) are reluctant in approving overhead crossings. All of us who fly in the area believe its an overreaction but it is what it is... . You got nicer views anyway via the shore line ! Check out a similar ride (Megara Syros and back) by me and friend Nikos in winter of 2018 with cloudy weather ruclips.net/video/wJIvyuQBcZ8/видео.html ruclips.net/video/YxGjhQwU01Y/видео.html

      "Even though its not forbidden, they are a bit cautious in letting single engine non native Greeks fly over the city center in case of engine trouble. Acropolis has a Prohibited zone"
      The Acropolis being prohibited means *no one* can fly over the city center. No?

    Amazing.
    I love your flight videos so much.
    I have been to a Syros island many times, and it is a very charming place.
    Waiting for more videos to continue the flight, and if you arrive in Israel, you are a welcome guest.

    Respekt. In der Geschwindigkeit hätte ich all die Punkte, die von der ATC aufgezählt werden, auf der Karte nicht gefunden. Hinzu kommt der griechische Akzent. Das erinnert mich an die Werbung, wo der Klitschko "Mjielchschnjiete" sagt. :D

    Ganz schönes Freigabechaos. Da mussten alle Punkte mal Erwähnung finden, die es in der Gegend überhaupt gibt ^^ Du hältst die Controller da ganz schön auf Trab. Die schienen schon ganz eingestaubt zu sein. Wenn man da mal drüber pustet, ist ja klar, dass einer husten muss :)

    Just a quick info non aeronautical related: did you used the train to reach Athens from Megara and viceversa?

    • @Flugabenteuer
      @Flugabenteuer  2 года назад

      Yes, first 5 min Taxi to Megara train station and than 40 min train to Athens.

    13:59 Greece has very high taxation on "luxury" vehicles and a slow CAA when it comes to maintenance paperwork, now you can guess why its not SX (Greek) register.

    An other reason you can't fly close to the south coastline of Hellinikon is that you will trigger the TCAS of big planes going ILS to LGAV and you will probably affect the ILS too. I forgot to mention that. But again the prohibition of overhead is not acceptable in any way.

    Moin, schönes Video! Ist Landing and Handling immer Landegebühr und Sprit oder nur Landegebühr und der Service? :)

    • @Flugabenteuer
      @Flugabenteuer  3 года назад

      Moin, das zweite. Landegebühr ist vom Flughafen, Handlinggebühr ist das was kein vernünftiger Mensch zahlen will. Da kommt eine eigenen Firma die Fantasiegebühren verrechnet und das auf großen Flughäfen meist verpflichtend. Treibstoff wird vom Tankstellenbetreiber verrechnet.

    19:08 during the whole flight from take off, you had your nosewheel slightly turned right, some tiny extra drag there.

    • @Flugabenteuer
      @Flugabenteuer  3 года назад +1

      Yes, and even though the wind was coming quite strongly from the left. The nose wheel does whatever it wants. I think we really need that additional fin for the fairing. Or even better a retractable gear :)

    I was flying for my training from Megara and I can say it is almost impossible to overfly Venizelos Intl. And this is class D but controllers have all the airline traffic and they are bored to serve others! Not funny, this is the real reason 😂😅😎..
    Anyway you didn't know then, now you know for the next time! Pretty videos I have to say!

    • @Flugabenteuer
      @Flugabenteuer  3 года назад

      You can‘t overfly Venizelos because the controllers are bored of it?

    • @theplanesnet
      @theplanesnet 3 года назад

      @@Flugabenteuer they are bored to have more aircraft in the frequency. Greeks you never know what we are able to do if we don't want to do something or if we are bored of something..
      Not that they can't serve you or anything else, but when they don't have airline traffic (for which they can't do otherwise) they don't want anyone to annoy them. Of course there are people that do their work and they do even more than they can but there are others that they have these positions because they have friends in the government and of course they dominate against the others who really work. I believe you understand the situation..
      In Diagoras Intl the same situation, they say they can't serve you because they have dense traffic and literally they only have one aircraft in the frequency and one parked in the apron. You call them again by phone to ask again and they hung up just when they hear your voice. Personal experience mate..

    • @Flugabenteuer
      @Flugabenteuer  3 года назад

      Crazy! Never heard that before from other airports 🤣 thanks for the information! Next time we have to land at Venizelos then they can’t refuse 😜

    • @theplanesnet
      @theplanesnet 3 года назад

      @@Flugabenteuer yes, if you go for landing there is no problem (of course because they know you will pay 😂😂). Greek madness mate!! 🤣🤣We consider all these as funny now, we got used all these years!
      Anyway if you want, take a short look on my channel too. More and better videos are coming very soon, I just take a Gorpo hero 9.

      @@theplanesnet I worked with Greek colleagues back in the 90's (Intracom S.A.) and they were really hard-working guys (opposite to the sterotypes). So it really depends. Luckily, here at the BUdapest International Approach and Tower controllers were so bored, they actually wanted to handle some traffic back in April, when the strong lockdowns were introduced for us, and international airliner traffic dropped to almost nil. So we made a lot of previously impossible exercises, like ILS approach practice, buzzing the tower, low passes etc. with small GA airplanes. (APP Class C, CTR Class D). I think the same "movement" happened in the U.S. as well. On the other hand, Athens is a very densely populated area, so think of the good side: flying over that on a single engine plane is always an elevated risk. Athens is best fo walking around, so we can get to the restaurants :)
