You don't need to farm for the hankerchief. You only need to kill blood starved beast, take the elevator to the old huntershop, go to the bottom of the hole, and turn left 2 times. You will arrive at the other side of the cathedral
So something to notice concerning the Evelyn vs Repeating shot, is that upon watching Occult’s video and looking at the damage numbers, with no BMA repeating did 7 less damage and consumed one extra bullet. With BMA it did just over 100 more damage but also cost the extra bullet. Which honestly isn’t worth it, since the extra bullet used from the repeating pistol can be used to shoot Evelyn a second time and give you almost 700 more damage.
Yup, on my guns only run repeating pistol with BMA was fun to abuse for low-health bosses like Amygdala or Shadows but by the time I got to the DLC, and especially since those bosses are much harder and I needed to use more vials for healing, I just used the Evelyn full time for better ammo economy. Even with 3 communion runes for 29 vials I finished Ludwig with no vials and only 1 blood bullet left! If I'd been using the repeater I'd have run out of ammo way too early.

Few notes: Repeating Pistol is from the sword hunter badge, which drops from Cleric beast, not Djura's badge. There's a Rifle Spear that can be looted in Old Yarhnam. You don't need to kill Djura to get access to it. The Amygdala's jump attack can be completely avoided just by standing still the moment it jumps.

One thing I wish you happened upon in the video is something that is done pretty often in gun-only runs, which is using the Reiter to parry. It's one-handed so you can pre-buff your gun with Bone Marrow Ash, parry with your Reiter, then use a BMA'd Repeating Pistol shot as the "riposte". It does a metric ton of damage and helps conserve your Bone Marrow Ash. Clearly you got gud enough you didn't need it lol, I just love the interaction so much so I'm a little sad it wasn't in the video.
the riflespear never recovered from the nerf it got it seems. back when the game was still relatively new, people found out that if you put flat arcane damage gems on the riflespear its projectile attack could rinse bosses and oneshot players so it got ruined in a patch.
In 30+ years of gaming, I will always remember the Ludwig battle as being the most frustrating boss I have ever had to fight in any video game I have ever played.
Also, repeating pistol beats evelyn on damage per *SHOT*, but not per *bullet* as it uses two per shot. So, combined with BMA it'll do more damage, but for general use you want to use evelyn to save on BMA
I think the rifle spear is underrated. I'm in the process of finishing a character that uses the rifle spear. I don't see anybody using it and I think it's a great weapon for Parrying to get the viscerals. And it would annoying for other players going into a sword fight and there's constantly bullet fire going off hitting them. It's one of those weapons you got to use skill with. And get gud at. The human hunter enemies are the most frustrating and difficult enemies to fight. The rifle spear Hunter cathedral word is a pain in my rear.

May be way too late or never get seen and it may have already been discovered, mentioned, or realized already, but there is a bloodstone rock in the DLC in the caves areas in the fishing hamlet just before fighting Orphan. It's one of two that can be picked up along with being able to spend 60 insight to buy them after beating Mergo's wet nurse.
I'll have to double check the math but I am pretty sure the repeating pistol does more especially with bone marrow. I believe Ymfah's gun only video he showed the math as well, but it could be the repeating does more damage on a short period of time whereas the Evelyn does it in a longer period of time
With bone marrow it does more per bullet without blood marrow it does less per bullet the best way to do it is use it for only your bone marrow shots then swap to Evelyn@@AccainGaming

If you fought Ioesefka's imposter(the crazy lady who drops the umbilical cord), before the blood moon, then you could've gotten a tier two Oeden Writhe. It's a type of rune that restores two of your bullets for every visceral attack, and it can be duplicated by running to the Forbidden Woods, then running back to the clinic to unload and reload the are from your render distance. Duplicating it twice would allow you to get six bullets back for every visceral attack. Don't worry about the umbilical cord, though, since you can still get a total of three, even if you kill her.
the charged heavy with the transformed rifle spear is fantastic in my opinion, it's what I used my first playthrough just because of it. It's how I beat Amelia
I finished the whole game with the rifle spear on my first run. What most of you bakas don't understand is that it allows you to break the normal rhythm of the game. I will explain. Most encounters with enemies are resolved waiting for them to attack, and then retaliating as they stop. With the spear, you can charge heavy R2 as soon as you see and target them, and produce an extremely long thrust that allow you to nick them with the tip of your weapon for massive damage even as they are not finished attacking yet. You guys just need to git gud.
Lol I understand. I am doing a run right now where I beat the game with every weapon to prove that the tire list rating doesn't matter. Currently at NG+7 with Chikaga. I have used so far Saw Cleaver, Moonlight, Wiggle Saw, Ludwigs holy blade, Burial Blade, hunter axe, and Rykuyo.
@@AccainGaming Legit if you pick up the rifle spear try the fully charged R2 on enemies, you'll be surprised by the kind of range the weapon has. You don't even need to wait for them to stop their introductory combo. It only REALLY sucks for high resistance enemies, like the Watchdog in the chalice dungeons for example.
For me the castlevania background was precious. Castlevania background and bloodborne footage.. Best combo ever. Would love to see more of this combo, maybe with the soundtrack a bit louder. I love these games and I always play bloodborne with castlevania soundtrack in the background. 😅

Yeah but most fights go faster when using the repeating pistol. Bullet usage isn't an issue when you can just use blood bullets or use runes to have more. It's why in gun only runs people use the repeating over Evelyn. At the end of the day it's really not that big of a deal

The Rifle Spear is goated with bloodtinge if you use its trick form, feels more like a shotgun than a rifle. Just bone marrow, get to close range and unload, tons of damage really quick, still not as worth to many other options due to the bullet consumption/dmg dealt, but still very fun. Shotgun hunter is a blast. Great video btw, really enjoyed your stuborness, a hunter must suffer.
Neither the rifle spear or the reiterpallasch can be buffed by anything including bone marrow ash in fact a common tactic is using the reiterpallasch gun mode to stun an enemy and then use a pre ashed cannon/church cannon to do amazing burst damage since you can have the left hand ashed up without wasting it @@AccainGaming
dont know if this still works. but on amygdala. the easiest way is to wait for a jump attack. i think you move foward a bit, turn around and charge a heavy. she will miss you with the landing. and the charge heavy will go straight to the dome. can't remember if it's exactly like i described it here. but its something along those lines

In fairness it's more than Monster Hunter and they each play differently. Where as in all the other souls games the majority of weapon types all do the same thing

Hey, little tip for Jura(Gatling gun guy in case I spelled his name wrong), when you climb up the ladder, just spam the shit out of a flintlock pistol on him as soon as you can. Most of the time you'll stun lock him and knock him off.
This is a very common strat, but I've found one that actually works better. Climb up the ladder, and lock on to Djura before getting all the way up. Walk towards him WITHOUT running, as he will always start his attacks with a shot from the Blunderbuss. Dodge through this attack, and you will be right on top of him. Spam r1 and he will fall right off the edge. Works Everytime from what I've seen in my playthroughs.
You coulda used the chalice dungeon code that had the bath messengers selling alternative gem slot weapons. You would have been able to skip straight to getting bloodletter after getting first chalice I think.

Another thing the weapon benefits from is high dex riposte builds since you always have a gun button handy.

You coulda used the chalice dungeon code that had the bath messengers selling alternative gem slot weapons. You would have been able to skip straight to getting bloodletter after getting first chalice I think.
Doesn't work for dlc, only base game. Was going to be my plan until I checked online
