    Great video. You clarified pick up sticks. Overshot you helped me with because I like you doubled the yarn on the design. Thanks

    One way to get the Russian weaving videos is to search on: ткачество
    That's tka'-chest-va, which is weaving (the noun) in Russian. Then RUclips sees the Cyrillic and searches the Russian language videos.
    Your Привет, как дела greeting was just fine :-)

    I know I'm way late on this vid but the yarn weight in the US is called worsted weight and is a 4ply. Sport weight is a 3ply. Yours looks worsted 4ply to me, another example would be Red Heart Super Saver. Hope this helps someone 😁🖖🏻

    If I use red cotton weft, Kelly, do you suspect the color will bleed onto the white during wet finishing? Thank you.

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  3 года назад +1

      It really does depend on the yarn and even the dye batch of that yarn. Some yarns are notorious for bleeding (sugar n cream is one) but if you're careful in the wet finish you can work around it.

    thanks Kelly , I am looking for a way to put store and fast food logo's on woven material to make grocery bags ,, as plastic bags have recently been nixed , this is definatly a way to do that ,, good show and clear inst. thanks

    So what do you do with the ends when you are finished?

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  2 года назад

      I like to hemstitch, I often hem pieces on the sewing machine or by hand too. You can knot the ends to finish if you prefer.

    So the background thread in the design is always on the upshed, correct?

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  8 лет назад +3

      No, the background (plain weave) changes between up and down, just like ordinary plain weave. It would go something like - Up white yarn, neutral pattern yarn, down white yarn, neutral pattern yarn, up white yarn and so on.

    Hi Kelly what heddle have you got on your loom

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  8 лет назад

      You asked me that already! :D Maybe you missed my reply further down - it's a 7.5 dent heddle.

  • @kimmaustin758

    Hi Kelly what wool did warp the loom and I like your video

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  8 лет назад

      Hi Kimm, glad you like it, I have used Australian 8ply merino wool with a 7.5 dent heddle, hope that helps :)

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  8 лет назад

      If yours didn't turn out well you could try using a lighter wool (like a 4ply) for the weft.

    What is the difference between your successful hearts and the first set of hearts that looked like Mickey Mouse?

      I can't remember just what made the difference, it may have even been the direction from which I was entering the shed?
