Wednesdays with Dan - "What My Transition Means To Me"

A lot of people have a different view on transitioning and it means something different for everyone. For me personally I don’t really feel like im transitioning from “female” to male because in my eyes I was never female; I was just male cursed with the wrong body. So I just want to express how I feel regarding my body now and how I felt about it before. I also think I would be killing my old self because to me that person never existed in any tangible sense. I hate when people bring up my pre-t self and refer to me as “when you were female” because It hurts me. So if “killing” my old self is the only way to make people see me for who I am now, a man, then that’s totally fine. I don’t like to see pictures of my female body or hear my pre T voice. Maybe one day it won’t bother me so much but for right now it makes me cringe.
