- This is a how-to Video showing how to split a single file larger than 4GB to enable coping to a USB or any other drive formated in FAT32.
To install or repair a Windows operating system OS, you will probably need a USB drive and a USB or Flash drive must be formated in FAT32 file system to function probably.
use the DISM command;
Dism /Split-Image /ImageFile:C:\folder_name\sources\install.wim /SWMFile:C:\your_folder_name\sources\install.swm /FileSize:3500

THE system cannot find the specified path help me
I don't understand, how do I create Bootable USB, do I need to archive the swm files back into the ISO then flash it with a bootable tool like Rufus?

install.swm is same with install.esd???? can i split install.esd with this process? i got error 87 "DISM doesn't recognize the command-line option "server\Desktop\win10\sources\install.esd".
For more information, refer to the help by running DISM.exe /?.
The process in the video is for files larger than 4GB.

Mine is 4.447 gb

" cant find the path specified" why do I get this error? I'm using the correct file location...
endeavour to put the file in an easily accessible location, like C:\FOLDER
it maybe because your windows file is'' install.esd'' so you have to change the line command to: your folder name\sources\install.esd

It's saying Error 32 - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
You may want to reboot your computer & go through the process.

The data is invalid
The DISM log file can be found at c:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log
Kindly download the installation file afresh again and start the process again.

I used a Windows 10 computer and 8GB USB drive. And it worked very well.

I tried and was unsuccessful. I got Error: 3 - The system cannot find the path specified. I'm sure that i have the correct path as I followed every step and even named the folder the same as you did.
try copy & paste, just to be double sure

@@arditgjini6502 if your doing a reinstall, you can leave the windows installation files in a section of the HDD/SDD. Also you can format the installation media on the preferred format,
