This was SO helpful because I am setting up my new iPhone, and I went through the option where you scan the little dust cloud icon on your old phone to port everything over, but I had some wifi issues and instead the phone set itself up without it. If you have eSIM activated, during the factory reset option, you will get option to keep or delete eSIM, the following option will appear:
‘Erase Data & Keep Mobile Plan’ or ‘Erase Data & Keep eSIMs’
