For that kind of money (no matter how tackily it was attained), I would have tried to stay on the ride as long as I could. In fact, the kids are probably the main reason she stayed as long as she did. (The kids seem actually well-adjusted and normal compared to Gene being such a monumental turd). What a "healthy" relationship haha. I was in a very emotionally and mentally abusive relationship for over years. Less than a decade but still far too long. It honestly is hard to leave someone that you deeply love and care about and just hope will change. But they don't change. Being with that person turned me into someone that was not me. I had so much hate, sadness, resentment and so on, bottled up inside of me. I finally walked away from that toxic mess and felt a huge weight lifted off of me. You have to be selfish sometimes. As someone who has been in a multi-decade relationship, let me say this: no couple stays together for decades without fights like these. Maybe not about cheating but about other stuff.
My marriage failed at like a month or two short of a decade. The alcohol ruined it more than the "decade curse," but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
A decade is right about the time that we're asking ourselves if we should check it again, meaning did we get what we bargained for pre-marriage.

What a "healthy" relationship haha. I was in a very emotionally and mentally abusive relationship for over years. Less than a decade but still far too long. It honestly is hard to leave someone that you deeply love and care about and just hope will change. But they don't change. Being with that person turned me into someone that was not me. I had so much hate, sadness, resentment and so on, bottled up inside of me. I finally walked away from that toxic mess and felt a huge weight lifted off of me. You have to be selfish sometimes. You can't let another human being drain all of the LIFE out of you. You have to choose to LIVE and do what you know you have to do in order to truly live happily and free.
This isn't real. It's all part of the show.

To be honest I am proud of her, for standing up for herself, and I am able to relate to the same frustrating experience in the fact that the whole affair is about him and no one else, is considered, And he has a beautiful woman who has stood by Him and REPEATEDLY forgiven Him for the cruelty and pain he has dished out to Her and expectations of Him expecting her to continue to put up with the behaviour and the energy and emotions He is using and draining her
Yes I was proud of her too. Cannot stand when women let men put them down or for that matter women putting men down. Not nice and very hurtful. I had a man who after 5 years started to put me down or laugh at me and I actually started feeling like crap.
Took care of that, got strong and tossed him out. Shannon is beautiful and I like her smile she maybe was smiling so much out of embarrassment. Inner feelings are more important than a part time love. Hope she finds herself.
