I somehow had this feeling for a very, very long time that either Aria or Spencer would be the ones having this disease. It would actually explain alot, it remembers me of the movie with Jensen Ackles ''My Bloody Valentine''(SPOILER ALERT) in this movie weird things happen and it is only for the last view minutes we find out he has this illness, I donnow but for some reason I had this feeling it would be the case in PLL as well.

No I think that Aria is schizophrenia,because that is when hear voices,if Aria is schizophrenia,then she thinks that she is talking to A.D,but she is actually talking to herself.
a good thing to add to aria possibly having a mental illness is that when they started seeing doctor sullivan, everyones files were hand written, but arias was printed with a client id number, so shed clearly been there before. i like the theory that when she said she was in iceland, she was actually in radley, and thats why eddie lamb recognized her when she volunteered.

You never know when your series gets cancelled so it's probably difficult to plan the whole plot so far in advance.

All the ppl interviews say the reveals story is epic and shocking and unexpected. I feel a twin is just easy and there's been twins stuff done already. Hopefully thry have not built this ending up so much that combined with all the theories, spoilers etc we aren't let down. I'd love it if we have to have a twincer that it was something gutsy like she actually appeared at the 5yr jump impersonating Spencer and real Spencer is somewhere else. I think you're thinking of dissociative identity disorder. Schizophrenia is another mental disorder.
