Great hair per usual. This is the only social platform I have for those reason. Hair looks gorgeous! 🥰 The world isn’t how it was when we were younger. I have two boys (10&8) they don’t go outside unless I’m outside! The world is totally not safe with the narrative “Go outside.” So my kids are safer in the house reading books, playing boards games, watching movies and playing their tablet. 🤎

Sooooooo gorgeous!!! I will definitely be using this tutorial to get thru my first attempt of coloring and bleaching my bundles. But girl, I honestly feel that if we concede to thinking that social media should only be used for those times when we’re at our best then it creates this false narrative that we should only acknowledge our best and down play our resilience in life. I think social media’s initial intent was to simply, be social. To socialize about it all-the good, the bad, and the ugly-let’s talk about it and let’s share it. Unfortunately, I think vanity took over and social media’s purity was tainted. Now it’s become a platform for the vanity scammers; the look at me, give me all your attention because I have the life that you want and since you can’t have it you can live vicariously through me, but they’re really frauds.

Yes! With the talk about social media. Things are never what they look like on camera. I just started a RUclips channel for hair reviews. And it took me so long to get it out of my head that most people will edit their videos to have perfect skin. I don’t have perfect skin and I don’t know how to do make well. So starting a channel and knowing that made it tough at first. But I’m pressing forward because at the end of the day, I’m trying hair on like everyone else. I shouldn’t compare my face to others. So I feel you girl, social media can get to you if you let it.
You shouldn’t at all! As long as you’re comfortable in your skin, that’s all that matters. Be also can tell when a person is being genuine and will gravitate towards that. Good luck to you ✨🤍

But to comment on the topic you were talking about. Everything you said is 110% how i feel about social media. I get it. Growing up in the era we did (I’m sure we’re about the same age i was born in ‘95) we didn’t even have phone we were outside actually making memories and having a childhood. I sometimes feel like these kids are doomed yes some are very tech savvy early but like you said sometimes it’s all these kids know and that is sad to me.
Also i had to stop comparing myself to others on social media because of everything you said as well. Whew. I be having to go ghost on IG for a while

And on the social media point, I hear people say a lot that it has made this generation ( which is totally NOT my generation) smarter than previous ones. I respectfully disagree. Growing up, I had to sift through books at the library to write a research paper. Going through so much information helped me learn more. I had to sift through a dictionary to learn a definition and use phonics to learn how to pronounce words. My generation didn't have literally everything at our fingertips so we had to work to get knowledge and along the way, you learn so much more.
Kids today are not mentally challenged and mentally lazy because of it. They aren't necessarily smarter at all. Too many of them can't even write or speak coherent sentences. I'm not being mean but when I hear some of these young people speak it's like....WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? SO, that's my take on that. They need to get off of social media and read a book or something LOLOL ( That's my old lady side talkin)
But anywhoo, again, great job on the hair!

I love this hair! It's gorgeous! It's funny you said that about kids and phones on social media. My daughter and I babysit kids from 3-5 years old and if we let them they could stay on the phone and watch tik tok videos all day long. For real! We have to make them go out and play. They don't even want to watch cartoons tv. It's crazy and it gets frustrating. Lol

The color is giving everything it was supposed to hunny!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Also I completely understand your thoughts on social media. Luckily I was able to experience life before that, because social media didn’t really start like that until I was about 21? Meanwhile, my friend’s daughter who is 3 can work RUclips with the best of them. And I have a 20 year old niece who literally has a goal of being a Instagram model 🤦🏾♀️. Don’t get me wrong, we all have fell into a social media trap in one way or another. I remember about 10 years ago I was upset because my friend made me feel like a loser since I didn’t have a lot of followers… It’s crazy out here and I wish we could all get back to the basics. Unfortunately I feel like this generation is too far gone. It’s all smoke and mirrors.
