Absolutely phenomenal video! I love the design of the basket and the way you broke it down for me has me running down to my shop to give it a go! I am truly grateful for the time, energy and the knowledge that you have so generously shared with all of us out here who are trying hard to expand our own knowledge and understanding of what goes into making beautiful jewelry. You are one of the gifted and I think you’re pretty amazing! T.
Omg !!! Beautiful setting . I make jewelry but not even close to what you do . I'm gonna be binge watching your videos to see if I can try and do one of your designs but I don't have your amount of tools so I'm praying I'll get to a quarter of your level at some point. God bless you thank you for showing your tutorials ! Amazing work !
well done . I like that you have taken the time to cover many of the things and patience required to make things work . I have been doing it 40 years now retired so I switched to silver and continue for my own pleasure . My first attempt at one of these crossover settings when they first came about was a disaster I don't even like to think about . ha ha now . Subscribed and will enjoy more , from Vancouver Island , cheers
Peter, this was an excellent video, thankyou so much. It's great to learn and you have a beautifully modulated voice for patient training. Once again thankyou. Janice
Peter, I have only just found your channel. I am a metal detectorist and find loads of scrap silver coins going back to middlers ages. Some are so bad that I melt them down and recycle the silver. I'm totally self taught over the last 3 years (part time) and thought I'd have a go at your cross over project. I'd love to show you my finished result, but dont want to spam you with a link. So if you agree I will share the link to my project. Thanks you. Stephen.
Do you do custom work for customers? I'm new to your channel I will obviously do more research but just thought I'd ask...I just purchased an opal (2.5 carats) an oval just trying to find a setting is all thanks and beautiful work btw.
@@jewellerytrainingsolutions9978 that's ok...just amazing work so I had to ask...I just bought my wife a 2.5 carat harlequin pattern opal and I'm trying to find a setting or whatever you call a ring without a stone for it but I also have two small tanzanite carvings (leaves) just small enough not to take away too much from the main stone but rather to accentuate it as the opal has a lavender hue to the base color and the two tanzanite pieces are lavender as well...anyway it's hard to Google all that lol so that is my dilemma 😉
So I'm trying to decide if I should either purchase this full tutorial, or even subscribe to the service, by trying to follow the steps in this tutorial and seeing what gives me trouble. For me it's attaching the 4 prongs to the ring bezel. He dips the prong in flux and then just seems to touch it to the grove in the ring with a little heat and boom, it sticks. What I can't see, is where is the solder in this process? Is the grove in the ring pre soldered, the prong? It doesn't seem so. He's holding the torch in one hand and the prong in the other, so there's no way to introduce solder that I can see, but the prong adhere well enough to be able to bend later. is he just welding the two by getting them near melting point? If so, then why the flux?
