Hey so this is a late response but I’ll reply to this since no one else has haha, I am a bench jeweler and blacksmith and I can confirm that the idea of a solitaire ring is whenever a diamond is singularly mounted onto a ring or design. The stone in this video is a brilliant cut Round stone, a cushion cut is usually a more square stone with round over corners in appearance from the top. Hope this helps, God bless - Ian Z

Hello, I received an engagement ring, a solitaire model. The diamond is 0.35ct. The crown has 6 prongs around the diamond, but it seems to me that the bottom of the diamond is not resting on the ring; it is only being held by these prongs. The ring is from a well-known jeweler, but I find that suspicious. Is this okay, and how safe is it? Thank you.

By experiencing,,?,, or he may use a thin silver plate to do a quick test. Most goldsmiths do that, especially with unexpected measurements for handmade jewelry.
