I was theorising an obby build with vengeance. 22 Attack (3k for death plateau and 2812 for frem trials) 99 Str 40 Def (fully quested ofc) 82 Ranged 31 Prayer 82 Magic (Saturated heart to boost to 94 for 5 mins) xx Hitpoints I don't think 27 Atk will be worth the extra 1 cb lvl (1 extra atk pot boost and rune gloves) Sadly enough I theorised this build before finding out that there are no corrupted weapons in game. Sad dansgame
Hey! Sadly obby builds cannot access the Saturated Heart because the required quests for Secrets of the North gain a ton of unwanted Attack Exp. That being said, I have seen some veng builds do super well, but they usually end up getting like 30 Attack for the regular imbued heart / 88 Mage? It's okay we do not have Corrupt weapons because obbies can access the dragon warhammer and even the regular Statius warhammer now. Couple that with the corrupt vestas equipment and you would have a monster of an account...
@@Ket-omg The saturated heart is tradable so I don't see why it would require the sotn quest to use. I forgot that warhammers only requires STR. No need to 20+ atk for corrupted ancient weapons. Just use the regular stat warhammer at level 1. With so many strong weapons released, the extra def and veng is still worth the 7.5 cb lvls as the saturated heart should decrease your combat levels by a bit.
I say they are both really acceptable to pk with. 1 att 40 def offers a lot of defence bonuses and some extra gear to pk with that is actually quite cheap with a reasonable combat level investment. 16 attack 45 defence is a much more combat level investment butttt you get a lot of ranged exp to work with and a lot more accuracy and a more unique build. So that fully depends on your PK style. If you want to pk more with ranged -> maul, I say zerk build is worth it. If you're more the standard melee only obby, I suggest that 40 defence opens up quite a lot of possibilities in gear, especially access to Inquisitors (not that you'd necessarily pk with it, but more for PvM or aesthetics). I’ve recently made an obby mauler and I’ve been working the account to stay at a relatively low hp build however I’m finding difficulty doing the blast furnace pump because I get kicked out for 30 mins after like a minute or two of pumping lol, did it receive a rework recently? Hey bud! I haven't pumped in a long time, so I don't know whether that's a bug or if they changed it in any way. Maybe somebody in the comments can answer that. As far as 55 Slayer, you should look into the Sulliucep mushtree method, which requires Bone Voyage. hi patrick, iv just started a prodded obby and i found that if you have atelast 2 accs on the pump you wont get kicked so make sure you have a alt pumping and re stocking the coke and you should be fine! apart from this youse world 320 which is now the pumping world
nice vid! im making an obby and saw ur recent 7atk vid also. in this vid you say 16atk is outdated esp b/c of manacles -- with new BH causing u to always be skulled, if you're someone like me who doesnt pvm and also isnt that good at pking (meaning im pretty broke and also dont wanna risk more than an obby), would you consider 16atk again now? i'm definitely going 31 pray to protect my neck and tbh i expect myself to get like high 70-low 80 str max, so maybe i just go 1-7atk since i'm gonna be getting combats from pray. lmk if anyone has some insight, i joined yalls discord and there are some nice resources on there so thanks for that also

Dus Ess obviously the higher your defense, attack, and prayer levels are, the easier pvm becomes. Obbies are known to have 1-20 attack, 60+ strength, 1-99 everything else while being melee based. So it really depends! I had a pvm obby tank with 75 defense and it did really well with pvm, but later I decided to turn it into a main account and then never played it again. Be careful and don’t do the same thing!

I love 43 prayer and it usually shines better with higher cb. I would stick with 31 prayer at 80 str no higher than that, and then give it time to think about 43 prayer
I don't understand why 13 def is worth it over 10 defense? Addy gloves give +1 str over mith gloves with no additional max hit gain, however maxed out 99str/hp that 0.75CB is one less combat level. 59.75 vs 60.5 assuming 1 prayer, same thing about 31 prayer. Any discussion about this? would highly appreciate.
Typically if you have a desire for 13 def it is usually not built to be optimized for PvP. The main reason to go 10 or 13 def really is for the access of the Slayer helm/Magic secateurs/sometimes fairy rings with 13+Attack, meanwhile unlocking some cool fashion. While the build is a decent option in F2P if kept at a low combat level, 13 Def in P2P PvP does not make too much of a difference when facing non-obbies. It's usually a build that focuses on PvE, since Slayer helm makes the Slayer grind a lot less time-consuming for obbies. Hope this helps, and you are right about the addy gloves part! Also, Regen brace still remains best in slot for 1 and 13 def obbies.
Only way an obby can use a defender and you would need 10 defense 31 attk and 99 strength . At the very least and that's just for a black defender. I know this because I started out as an obby. best obby build is 55 slayer 1 attk 99 str and 13 def 31 pray. IMO the 1 attack is what makes them obby and keeps them at such low combat. The true Glass cannon is this build.
13 def is surely a great build! I had one in the past and ruined my account... love it. You can access the Warriors guild if you have 99 attack or strength:) gl on your grind bro!

Ring of suffering has recoil effect and imbued is plus 20 on all defensive although it comes with a pesky 75 HP requirement... R.I.P black d hide chaps I shall miss you when your gone... Can you just train normally if you don’t feel like doing quests for the lvls? I wouldn’t mind some extra hp levels. It should just depend on what lvls you choose for your build right?
@@Ket-omg basically just any of them.. like which ones could I completely skip, and which ones are absolutely essential for an obby mauler? I started leveling an account with the intention of making a mauler, and got myself to like 52 str and 24 range already. And now I’m looking at a bunch of guides telling me I need to do quests, and to only train range with a cannon while doing slayer.
@@Ket-omg ive just been training everything with normal pvm, and now some of these videos I’ve been watching are making me think I’ve been doing it wrong. I haven’t done any quests and didn’t know it would be necessary to. I also haven’t trained slayer at all and I obviously don’t have a cannon atm.
What about 32attack? If you do death plateau/waterfall and thus dt you get access to ancients as well as battlestaves for more hybrid mauling, and you only lose 10 str levels combat-wise from the 20 atk
Excalibur unfortunately any level above 20 attack is not really considered an obby mauler by any of the renowned clans in RuneScape, but there are niche builds such as those you are referring to that do exist. Whether they perform well or not, I have no idea, but I’d be willing to bet that getting 18 more attack levels would be a way better account

I have been pking with 77str obby pure and I would really like to try 40def obby tank build. I just think its huge decision and I dont want to ruin my acc.
It’s ultimately up to you, both are good, you will just be pking at a higher combat bracket is all, so if you are prepared for that and like that, go for it. If you like the lower combats, stick with what you have
Yeah I'd say that's going to end up in a quite high combat bracket. If you are going for 60 def, I'd stay as close to 1 or so as possible. You can get accuracy boosts starting at 7 attack with the obby set
There's some low hp obby builds and ironman builds too. I'm surprised you didn't touch on HP too much considering you seem to be a man quite familar with the blast pump yourself. i got kind of turned off from the blast pump after seeing how many shameless autotypers there were there :/

@@Ket-omg Cool as. I saw your video regarding strength training after this one and you mentioned the main methods for gaining str without hp there. I think this video is really good, i was just surprised you didn't mention your experiences through the lower combat levels with a the low hp build you had! It seems to be much less common that someone will blast pump an obby to huge str levels and remain low hp like you did, and i'm sure it brings some interesting advantages and disadvantages that would have made for a cool talking point. Yellow yeah you can notice that I didn’t stay a low level hp prod for very long. Prodding hp is typically very strong against other obbies but very disadvantageous against PKing in general. One great advantage of obbies is to have a very scaled hp level at such a low combat, making it very tough for opponents to KO us and knock us down to KO potential. The ability to heal to massive amounts of hp during a Gmaul spec or ranged special attacks allows us to survive with triple eating (manta ray - saradomin brew - karambwan) in one tick. With practicing and pulling off that triple eat correctly, you should not die too often to those OP spec weapons in the game, and it allows us to keep the pace of the fight as usual. If you are 99 Attack or 99 Strength, you can enter the Warriors Guild, or a total of 130 combined Attack and Strength. 60 Defence obbies can also wield the Dragon defender o_o, weird right?
That build may or may not be changing with new pvp updates coming into the game in the coming months. Also, 35 Att is borderline considered obby but we have made accommodations to include these builds since the dwh came out!

Hey! Is your intention to be an obby on that account? If so, you should definitely start over so your combat level is maximized. Currently, 50 Attack is the best option at your ranged and mage level

@@acidandy3266 access to ancient magicks, which typically obby maulers cannot get due preferring to stay melee based, as it costs a ton of unnecessary combat levels. If you truly want an obby mauler, you must prioritize to stay low combat or else you will be fighting opponents with much better stats.
You forgot 32 Attack build, which allows unlocking ancients and allowing up to 89 range/mage. Also a 35 Attack Chivalry/Piety tank build. IMO 1-35 attack is still an obby and has been since pre-eoc.(1-32 for pures, 1-35 for tanks)
@@Ket-omg how can they be g maulers if the dont even have the requirements to equip g maul? If the best weapon they can use is the obby maul, and they use it as the primary ko weapon wouldn't that by definition make them an obby mauler?
Most, if not all obbies consider 1-20 attack obby maulers. Anything beyond that is a gray area, or basically accounts designed for f2p pking, up until 50 attack
Thought I'd point something out. You are not able to obtain a black defender on an obby mauler simply because of the warrior guild required 130 attk and strength lvls combined so even a 30 attk 99 str = 129 and maxed str obby mauler cannot enter the guild and thus they cannot obtain the defender. You cannot obtain it any other way. Great vid otherwise.
Hey man! I wouldn't say obby tanks are ruined at all. 40 def obby tanks are a really viable option right now, and 60-75 def tanks are still viable, except they do have to risk a good amount of gp to pk efficiently with their desired gear loadouts. Tanks usually can pull off pretty massive K-D ratios, so it all depends on how good of a PKer you are. If you don't have the money to support a 60-75 def tank (even though these are very fun builds), then I suggest going with a 13 def or 40 def obby for the lower risk and lower combat bracket. Hope this helps :)
Ket Omg thanks for the reply! I have 75 def so I have to risk a lot now, and I wouldn’t say I’m the BEST pker so I’m probably going to be losing gp :( still fun though and I suppose that’s all that matters. I could make a new account
wilson0213 I used to pk on a 75 def obby. The point of that build is for easier obby pvm, loads of fashionscape, and to never die in pvp. Ags still hits thru defense but you have the edge on most fights if they don’t use one.

If you're sticking with low combat pking, I'd recommend 1 attack. If you don't like it you could go 7 or quest 16, totally up to you bro!

That just means you have access to higher Ranged levels and a little more accuracy! You can get up to 77 ranged without it affecting your cb

Sounds perfect to me. There's nothing at 20 atk that would benefit you. I guess if you get bored you can always get 20 def

60 is a good option too
It’s ultimately up to you, both are good, you will just be pking at a higher combat bracket is all, so if you are prepared for that and like that, go for it. If you like the lower combats, stick with what you have

Yeah I'd say that's going to end up in a quite high combat bracket. If you are going for 60 def, I'd stay as close to 1 or so as possible. You can get accuracy boosts starting at 7 attack with the obby set
There's some low hp obby builds and ironman builds too. I'm surprised you didn't touch on HP too much considering you seem to be a man quite familar with the blast pump yourself.

I think this video is really good, i was just surprised you didn't mention your experiences through the lower combat levels with a the low hp build you had!
It seems to be much less common that someone will blast pump an obby to huge str levels and remain low hp like you did, and i'm sure it brings some interesting advantages and disadvantages that would have made for a cool talking point.

Yellow yeah you can notice that I didn’t stay a low level hp prod for very long. Prodding hp is typically very strong against other obbies but very disadvantageous against PKing in general. One great advantage of obbies is to have a very scaled hp level at such a low combat, making it very tough for opponents to KO us and knock us down to KO potential. The ability to heal to massive amounts of hp during a Gmaul spec or ranged special attacks allows us to survive with triple eating (manta ray - saradomin brew - karambwan) in one tick. With practicing and pulling off that triple eat correctly, you should not die too often to those OP spec weapons in the game, and it allows us to keep the pace of the fight as usual. how does 10 attack get a black defender? need 130 atk and str for warriors guild?
If you are 99 Attack or 99 Strength, you can enter the Warriors Guild, or a total of 130 combined Attack and Strength. 60 Defence obbies can also wield the Dragon defender o_o, weird right?
What about 35 att 70 def pray ? For piety
That build may or may not be changing with new pvp updates coming into the game in the coming months.
Also, 35 Att is borderline considered obby but we have made accommodations to include these builds since the dwh came out!

Hey! Is your intention to be an obby on that account? If so, you should definitely start over so your combat level is maximized. Currently, 50 Attack is the best option at your ranged and mage level

@@acidandy3266 access to ancient magicks, which typically obby maulers cannot get due preferring to stay melee based, as it costs a ton of unnecessary combat levels. If you truly want an obby mauler, you must prioritize to stay low combat or else you will be fighting opponents with much better stats.
You forgot 32 Attack build, which allows unlocking ancients and allowing up to 89 range/mage. Also a 35 Attack Chivalry/Piety tank build. IMO 1-35 attack is still an obby and has been since pre-eoc.(1-32 for pures, 1-35 for tanks)
Imo those builds are just under-leveled gmaulers. Nothing wrong with that, but they are not classified as obbies

Most, if not all obbies consider 1-20 attack obby maulers. Anything beyond that is a gray area, or basically accounts designed for f2p pking, up until 50 attack

Thought I'd point something out. You are not able to obtain a black defender on an obby mauler simply because of the warrior guild required 130 attk and strength lvls combined so even a 30 attk 99 str = 129 and maxed str obby mauler cannot enter the guild and thus they cannot obtain the defender. You cannot obtain it any other way. Great vid otherwise.

Hey man! I wouldn't say obby tanks are ruined at all. 40 def obby tanks are a really viable option right now, and 60-75 def tanks are still viable, except they do have to risk a good amount of gp to pk efficiently with their desired gear loadouts. Tanks usually can pull off pretty massive K-D ratios, so it all depends on how good of a PKer you are. If you don't have the money to support a 60-75 def tank (even though these are very fun builds), then I suggest going with a 13 def or 40 def obby for the lower risk and lower combat bracket. Hope this helps :)
Ket Omg thanks for the reply! I have 75 def so I have to risk a lot now, and I wouldn’t say I’m the BEST pker so I’m probably going to be losing gp :( still fun though and I suppose that’s all that matters. I could make a new account
wilson0213 I used to pk on a 75 def obby. The point of that build is for easier obby pvm, loads of fashionscape, and to never die in pvp. Ags still hits thru defense but you have the edge on most fights if they don’t use one.
