      For this, Poland, as always, gets a ricochet. In Poland there is an invasion of Ukrainian immigrants who live at the expense of Polish taxpayers (social) and take jobs away from Poles. In Wroclaw, statistically every 5th person is a newcomer from the East (Ukrainian, Belarusian, Russian). On them all goes social from Polish Taxes and inflation is rising. I am a Pole by blood and bones for generations. I earn the national minimum wage and barely have enough money to live from month to month. But there will always be money for immigrants. It's a shame to talk. It's not fair! Greetings from poor Poland/Wrocław. // Польша, однако, как всегда, оказалась в выигрыше. Польша переживает нашествие украинских иммигрантов, которые живут за счет польских налогоплательщиков (социальных) и отбирают рабочие места у поляков. Во Вроцлаве, по статистике, каждый пятый человек - приезжий с востока (украинец, белорус, русский). Все они получают социальные льготы за счет польских налогов и роста инфляции. Я являюсь гражданином Польши на протяжении многих поколений. Я зарабатываю минимальную зарплату, и мне едва хватает денег на жизнь из месяца в месяц. Но для иммигрантов всегда есть деньги. Стыдно сказать. Это несправедливо! Приветствую вас из бедной Польши/Вроцлава. (translated by DeepL)

      The issue was cmunism. Russians, as in Orthodox Christians, are awesome 👍

    • @basstrip73
      @basstrip73 2 года назад +11

      @@rrocketman No, the issue wasn't communism. Russia is now capitalist and has been for 30 years and it is still the west's preferred "enemy." The west has a superiority complex...it thinks it has the right to force its norms and values onto every country in the world. Pretty ironic given how the west is supposedly for "freedom" and "diversity" and "tolerance." Had the US-led west respected Russia's security concerns post-1991 and halted the expansion of NATO and stopped the encirclement of Russia with NATO military bases the world would now be a very different place. A huge opportunity for peaceful coexistence was squandered. It's sad how stupid and shortsighted western leaders were (and are). They were warned by their own advisors that attempting to box in and subjugate Russia would lead to conflict and war....and, well, here we are. It disn't have to be this way.

    • @redtobertshateshandles

      @basstrip73 no totally wrong. You know nothing. 30 years is nothing, it's less than half a lifetime. Communists still exist in positions of power. Exactly as the old man said. They created a welfare state. They murdered the intelligencia, the Go getters, and left the Communist, the criminal, and the incompetent. The Communists still believe you can achieve things via Gulags. They are the insane.

      As an American myself, that grew up during the Cold War, I had a very skewed idea of Russia. I had this idea as a small child, that they would execute children for speaking out in class(I was actually told this), everyone wore a uniform, and all the people drove tanks around town. I was disappointed when I got a little older, and realized every Russian didn’t drive a tank. I loved the idea of people driving tanks, and thought we should drive tanks also.

    A few weeks ago you asked us what we wanted to see. Here you answered my request in such a marvellous way. To meet ordinary people and hear about their lives and thoughts and what they eat etc. People like this guy are the salt of the earth. They have no time for politics but sadly they cannot avoid being affected by it. This is the same for most people around the world and the politicians on both sides have blood on their hands. If everyone lived by the same basic principles as this man, there would be no war.
    Thank you so much for making this video and wish you all the best and I would like to join you in the wish for world peace.

      People like him is part of the problem that russia faces, hopefully when "boomers" of russia will all die out it will steer the country for better future. Majority of boomers in russia grew up during the ussr "golden years" when ussr was at its peak, then they experienced collapse and it never really recovered, in twisted minds of these people communism is good because in 70s-80s they had good life, thats why they actively vote and promote communism, these people dont dig deep and they dont realise that communism is what brought the problem in the first place. Oh and before you ask, yes, Iam russian.

    Beautiful video of the village and such cute dogs and goats. Actually his political commentary was nice to hear, for us westerners to understand what conclusions he draws about the current situation but also his thoughts about your country's history.
    This feels like such a "down to earth" grounded guy who has had a lot of time to think deep about himself, life and the world. Maybe we all need more of such time to think, reflect about ourselves and become wiser. He feels very human and like that guy could live in a remote area in any part of the world and still fit in. At the core i think we humans are very much alike regardless of where we grew up. We just need to have enough time for self-reflection to look deeper and see it.

    As someone who has seen his own country use lies to justify a war, resulting in total disaster, I’m sorry for ordinary Russians. We keep making the same mistakes I guess, thinking war is a good idea, thinking we’ll be greeted with hugs, thinking sheer force will cause instant surrender. That said I admire this guy you talked to. He seems to live richly while having little money. He has a village to himself almost that he has to take care of. He needs to be very resourceful and hard working to survive which must be hard at his age. Mad respect to this guy.

      I’ve thought the same thing multiple times. I think the most interesting parallel is the “isolation” of both of them, yet influence on both, of Europe. Both the US and Russia have been heavily influenced by Europe, yet have grown in unique and sort of “backwards” ways from Europe- American accents, use of imperial measures; Russia having communism and isolating itself from European influences. Very interesting indeed. We really are more alike than different.

    As someone who have lived in Russia for 7 years, I can most definitely agree with everything the man said. Most Russians are passive and they go through life in autopilot and go with the most convenient and comfortable choices in life eg, (not putting much thought into the politicians they support, their food choices, blind compliance to seniority etc) and this is one of the reasons why there isn't a huge enough uproar of protests to stop what is happening in Ukraine.

They are terrorist nations and if you even took the time to do a little bit of research maybe your brain cell will cherish your effort a little. Most dumb comment I've ever seen.

    He must have enjoyed your visit. Russians are like the Russian Americans in that they would like to own some land. Moscow real estate is very expensive if it is not rent controlled. Give peace a chance, and reach out to those who are alone✌️❤️

    Nice video, it's a good thing you didn't cut the political rant of the old man from the video, if you visit an elderly man in any village in the world you're always gonna listen to some political rant, it's part of human experience :-D Anyway the man is wrong about 'human potential existing because of villages', in fact history shows the opposite is true, England reached 50% of people living in urban areas before anyone else, in 1850, and those guys conquered half the world. So I'd say USRR was powerful despite villages dragging them down, not the other way around
