Basically, if you loved the first game. There’s no way you wouldn’t love this one. If you didn’t love the first game, then you won’t love this one.
I didnt "love" the first one..but I had a blast with this one..they fixed alot of things

I absolutely LOVE how the overhauled the air tricks you can do while webswinging around manhatten. It's such a small detail that makes the swinging look so much more dynamic. The way that moves now go over into other moves fluently and that Miles' swing animation even changes depending on what trick you just did is just mindblowing to me

I personally love that finishers are attached to combo count and not the focus bar in this game. I never found myself using finishers in the previous game because I didn't wanna impede my ability to heal

That’s what I’m saying, I feel like he’s kind of downplaying just how much better combat really is in this game because of it and the Venom Strikes
It's just that it's not as necessary. Of course, you can integrate it as much as you want into your play style, but it's not as required as the venom

To be honest I forgot I had it half the time
I got the platinum trophy, it was so good that I wanted to play it back to back, the second playthrough only takes about 3.5-4 hours if you do just the story stuff. I highly recommend this game especially if you liked the first one!

Absolutely loving it. Web swinging is a joy in performance RT. Really loved the story.
A cool detail they added is when you play in 60fps mode and enter photo mode it switches to fidelity textures for the highest quality photo. Nice touch 👌🏻
The game was worth the money to me, maybe should've been $40 but whatever. Plus I love how the gameplay feels so much better when the first game was nearly perfect to me. The web swinging to me is better because of Miles's unperfectionism and style. I love it and can't wait to play more of it

Just a clarification, performance mode is still in 4k. It just doesn't have ray tracing and other special settings turned on so it can hit the 60 fps. But both performance and cinematic modes can be in 4k.
I didn’t buy a ps5 to play on performance mode so I play cinematic mode

i've been playing on ps4 and there is a glitch on the pre-last mission where miles just pops in place randomly 😂 also one in a side mission where you can only see miles' head for like 3 seconds

I dig that you brought up the swinging. I actually feel like the mechanics are different with miles. Going back and playing the original, Peter's swinging seems to control much better... im sure this is just totally in my head lol but it did feel that way for a while.
The game is phenomenal. Gameplay and fighting plus stealth is pretty amazing, they added quite a bit of new combat features, but the only flaw is if you grind games or can beat a game in one sitting, then you can do this in about a day which is what I did. Kinda disappointed at the length but still worth my money to see how good it looked and how fun it was for the day.

I love that ceiling and wall takedowns are a thing now. I don’t recall it be in the first one. Honestly, my only issue is the frame rate drop when I’m swinging. Granted, I’m playing it on the first gen PS4, so it’s understandable.
The Spider-Verse suit effect had me shook!! I’m so happy they included that.

@@JTReviewsPlus I bought on my base ps4 today and it runs mostly perfectly. I've only had one frame rate drop and the game paused for a second to load the world during a certain chase sequence early on but that's literally it. It also has a free upgrade to ps5 for when you do get a new console

I’m blown away by this game. Yes, it’s the same stuff as the 2018, but this has so much more than I was expecting. The story is AWESOME and it looks amazing with impressive set pieces.

I played this entire game to 100% completion in one sitting, with about an hour of rest in between and I loved every second of it.
Is it really that fast?
@@Lol-kd8dh Yeah, it can be. I got it on sale for $20 so pulled the trigger, but I feel like $60+ is not worth it considering you pay that price for huge games like RDR2, HZD, GoW etc.

The ending was almost as impactful as the first game, it’s not on the level of the first games ending but it is pretty damn close. Aside a few glitches here and there I really enjoyed my experience with the game. I played it on the PS4 so I didn’t experience all the upgrades the PS5 brings but it’s still fun as hell.
nothing will ever be as impactful as that second "you knew!" or "Take off that mask... I want to see my nephew"

I was so addicted to the first game (mind you I don’t really like to “grind” in games) but I found all 55 backpacks, all black cats, and all the challenges (to at least level 2) in the course of 2 days and beat the story in about 4. I highly recommend the first one I’m a little late on picking up the second but I have high expectations and really only bought the first so the second would make sense. I love miles.
Taskmaster challenges made me stop at the lvl 2 too. Too annoying to try to max out all of them. I may buy Miles Morales on PC too but only on a hefty sale.
Edit: As I am playing DLCs for the game for the first time I can add Screwball challenges to the list of annoying crap.

The only thing I can complain about if I was forced to nitpick is length. I was so enthralled by Miles story that I didn't want it to end. I went into it knowing it was gonna be short, but I'm still plenty hyped for whatever full blown sequel comes out next.

I've already beaten the story and it was very good despite being so much shorter and I hope they do a full on miles game in the future (instead of just being a glorified expansion) cause I really like the characters. now I just need to do all the side quests.

Awesome game! Even playing on the PS4 the graphics and mechanics are better than the first game and that's saying something because the last game was outstanding. Oh and the invisibility is definitely essential playing on Spectacular and trying to trophy hunt! Another great before you buy video, thanks!
The venom abilities being on the same bar as your healing cripples some of the boss fights that require venom punches, or higher tiered enemies
Platinum takes two full playthroughs, so thankfully the story isn’t excessively long. I’ll have mine soon (PS4)

be aware guys, the main story can be completed in about 6.5 hours... and there are so many collectibles with not much else. It was so clear this was meant to be DLC that was pushed to a full release game for a launch title
@Ethan Roberts have you played it? I have. The way the game has been made isn't typically like a normal game, as they advertised. There are 3 very distinct sections, shorter story, minimal character arcs. All signs pointing to this being a DLC rather than a fully planned game with a road map

I mean, does it make the game bad though. Even if it was intended to be as DLC? Personally, I think the story is very intriguing that I couldn't care less if it was 6.5 hours of gameplay. Plus, I am someone who does the collectibles and side missions first before proceeding to the main mission as soon as they pop up. So I can easily get a lot of gameplay content.

i must say i did encounter a lot of bugs during my few playtroughs... mission breaking ones, had music get stuck and loop trough the entire finale of the game, had miles glitch trough the map or yeet himself off to the side, i had graphics crash and not load properly and enemys get stuck or not react to anything. i played the ps4 verson and i dont know if its exclusive to it, but i sure hope they fix those in the future. i mean, the first game had bugs upon release too like the endless roll over the water?

Agree with almost everything besides the difficulty of combat. This one is def harder than the previous due to the increased enemy variety that makes crowd control a bit more hectic. Played both on the highest difficulty and that was the thing that sticks out most.
@OuttaSpace420 GamingZone IDFK. I found combat in this one a thousand times easier, because of the venom, being able to use finishers without draining the venom powers, etc. Crowd control is much easier, and to the extent that I have played, I haven't encountered anything similar to those Sable Jetpack guys in the last game that absolutely destroyed me. The Roxxon troops are a weaker, uglier Ripoff of the Sable guys, who, again, absolutely destroyed me. The Ryker's inmates had numbers, generally when I fought them, and the guy that had two whips was really strong. I might be wrong (because I haven't played the game all the way through yet, I started today) but combat in this game is much easier for me.

I feel like this game did a good job of distinguishing miles' own power/moveset. Hope the next game really utilizes both "spidermen" or has some miles dlc or smth

Honestly, I loved how compact the game was. The story was a little short, but it was fun, and I liked it , and the side content was nice for me because it didn't have as many things that felt tedious. For example, there are only 6 enemy bases compared to the many more in the first game, and there are only 16 time capsules compared to the 50 backpacks in the first one. It made it a lot easier to 100% the game and I loved it.
Probably cause it’s not only to help miles, but keep us occupied until spider-man 2
Best change was that the bases only had a set number of goons instead of six waves each and you could do them all in stealth mode if you wanted to.
It’s amazing, like for something that isn’t it’s own game, they added some new stuff and it was great, I just wish it was longer
Never played the 1st so been enjoying the bundle a lot. I prefer the performance to the fidelity as well.

Just finished it. And although the main villain (The Tinkerer) is a really annoying character, the story is on par with the first game (even if it's shorter). Really good game. A must play for those who like the first.

@@slix-au893 I think he meant it was a separate game, that's why he would determine that it's a sequel. Still, the spinoff is shorter than the actual game.
I found it way too short. It’s nothing more than a 2-year delayed DLC and wayyy too over priced. Penguinz0 nailed it in his review. Okay game that sells itself too high for a lack of content.

Sorry, I just want to correct something. This will include spoilers to the unlockable powers though. The venom powers aren't just the venom punch, they include the punch, slamming onto the ground, dashing toward and throwing an enemy, a jump which you can use to bring enemies up with you, and the ability to quickly gain height or speed while traversing. You can also save your venom power and later use it to explode and knock out all enemies around you. Of course, it's integrated into other things, like when you snatch a weapon from somebody you electrocute it and the next person it hits gets electrified, also when you do finger guns at civilians electricity comes out of the fingers. There are also takedowns and finishers that involve his venom powers. He also has the ability to extract energy, and the ability to power up electrical devices. Oh and there's a feature where you can make web lines connecting to each other, and then finally connecting to a door, and then electrify that web to open the door. You can also use it to immediately electrify someone who hits you.
If you want this game I highly suggest it. I finished it in a day it was that good but what blew it out of the park for me was the music, the music was absolutely amazing so definitely buy this game
I really like the score from the original game and this game. But I think the music at the first swing of this game is so good.
Just finished the game and OMG THAT POST CREDITS SCENE SETS UP THE NEXT GAME SO WELL
