I can't help but think about how the reintroduction of Owner's Pokémon reminded me of what happened in 2015, where we didn't have any new mainline Pokémon game that year and the TCG introduced Pokémon BREAK, (basically a reintroduction of Lv. X from the DP era sets), to bide the time between ORAS and SM.
Great podcast as always. I enjoy listening to these and catching up on news I missed. Regarding PLZA, TPC may have expected to release PLZA in spring of 2025. As such, they wouldn’t announce it at Pokemon Day 2025. This is because the game would either release prior to that, or that the game would release a month or two later (March/April/May). Thus, announcing it in 2025 wouldnt be enough time (in their eyes) to generate hype, make merch, and all that important stuff. This made the 2024 pokemon day announcement make the most sense, even if the game is releasing in 2025. This gives them and all their related partners and companies time to plan things out and generate more and more hype (such as at Worlds this year). This being said, they could still release it in Fall 2025, which would kinda undermine all I wrote here haha. Anyways, the 2024 announcement choice makes me think that a Spring 2025 release is entirely possible, maybe even likely. This is in addition to what yall talked about regarding PLA and Astral Radiance. We should know more in less than a week, but it’s fun to talk about these things. We have had no news for a while.
My guess at this point is the eevee set gets put into promos with a couple being put in with battle partners and then sadly rocket becomes a specialty set. Followed by either za set or one more set before za.
Huh?! ... it confirmed that japanese high class is the festival eeveelution set in December which is going to be the English set version which is the special set in January Then japanese sets battle partners (Jan 2025) and glory of team rocket (feb 2025) gonna combine and be the English set in March 2025
