As always, Mark, I relish in the pure enjoyment that comes with every episode, no matter the amount accomplished. As to the sore arms, they make flying tubes now. It reduces the arm flapping greatly!
Hi Mark, Glad you are feeling better. I got stung with my second round of Covid the second week of December. Was not as bad as my first time in July of 2022. I too did not get much done in December on my layout. I’m finishing up scratch building N scale trolley poles (I built about 100 out of bamboo skewers and brass rod). Half the layout has faux catenary strung and if all works out I hope to finish stringing overhead by February. Let’s both hope for a productive January! Always enjoy your videos no matter how long they are. Good health and stay safe! Scott
Hi Scott! Sorry about the Covid. The trolley poles project sounds great. I've always had an itch to do interurban. Maybe someday I'll scratch it (but probably not. Too much invested in what I've got).
@ Hi Mark, thanks for your reply and subscribing to my channel. I grew up watching and riding The South Shore Line and had to try to scratch/kit bash model a representation of it given no commercially available models exist in N scale. Been working on it for decades. This interurban has me hooked! Have a great week. Scott
Hi Mark, Sorry to hear you got sick, thankfully it’s usually a milder dose nowadays and nothing like it was when it first appeared. Fingers crossed for your full recovery and lots of progress when you can. Best regards from England, John (also a C&NW modeller in H0 but with diesels!)
Great update. Sorry to hear you got sick over the Holidays. There was a lot of illness's running thru families all over the country. Ours got hit as well. Looking forward to seeing the progress that gets made in the next 6 weeks. Thanks for sharing.
Howzit Mark : MUCH thanks for your regular and informative updates through 2024; knowing that we expect nothing less for this new year ! All the best .... * Rail On * ( Credit : Steve Brown ! ). Regards / Johnny 🤙⚡️💫💥
Nice update Linesman, I mean Mark. First, glad you had a good trip to NJ and hope you are feeling better. You still got more done than a lot of folks do in many months. Thought you might put a narrow gauge line in with that N scale track. It is looking good and be safe the next six weeks. That was a massive looking helix for sure. Happy New Year Mark.
I have a new name for you. Shamoo. HAHAHA Like I have room to talk. Hey, Great video as always!!! However, I am surprised that you could get off the ground because you're so full of it. LOL I imagine your arms were tired. That 2-10-2 sure looks good and runs even better!!!! NICE engine!!!! You're doing a NICE job on Powell, and I can't wait till July, when I can drive down to visit. Maybe you'll have Powell finished by then?? Let's hope so. Once again, a NICE video. Glad you're feeling better!!!!!!!
Happy to hear your COVD was mild. I got mild case last July. I’ve done all the shots and I hear the lasted strain is not as bad. Have you been to China? That’s a place I’d like to see but never will get there. That was a monster helix!
Hi Fred, thanks for commenting. I was in China six years ago with my wife. Had a great time! We flew into Shanghai from the US (LONG flight!), then took another flight to Nanchang. Her hometown is near there. Spent six weeks there. People were very friendly (many had never seen a westerner before - it's not on the usual tourist routes). Helix was big - about eight scale miles of track.
Dont feel like the "Lone Ranger" i got ABSOLUTELY NOTHING accomplished on my logging railroad in December... Sometimes that just happens! You'll be busy this month, no doubt. 😉

LOL! Hi Charlie! Thanks for the head-up about the flying tube thing.
Coming for the March operating session?
Thankful you survived Covid, I lost 2 good friends to that disease. Enjoyed the short presentation and look forward to next month.
Thanks! Sorry about your friends. Fortunately everyone I know survived their bouts with it.
Thanks for the update Mark. Hope you get some quality workbench time in the next 6 weeks for structures! Stay healthy.
Hi Alex! I hope to get some time to at least start on a structure. Right now they seem to be last priority on the layout. Some day I'll regret that...

Hi John! Tnanks. This is the second round of Covid I've had. First one was also pretty mild, a few years ago.
Always a pleasure watching. I didn't get much done either during December.
Thanks Steve!

Thanks Rob. Happy New Year!
Would love to just watch you running the steam trains on the layout sometime!
Maybe when I get a bit more scenery done...
