PMD2 was the best game ever. I was 14 when I got it on release, it changed me as a person a bit. It had all these melancholic, yet happy feelings. It was the first time I really cared about videogame characters. And it was the first time I fucking cried because of a videogame. I was at vacation with my grandma, visiting a family member. She wanted to go see some stuff outside, but I couldn't let go off that game. I just couldn't stop. In hindsight, I feel really sorry but man. That's how much this game captured me.
This game kicked me in the balls with how much feeling it gave me. I remember fondly memories of when I lived with truly amazing people who took interest in the game. The class I was in waited for me to tell an epic story of my friend. They never really knew it was about a pokémon game. All they knew was that this was a story about two best friends going to save the world
@@greatgallade I am actually DMing a D&D campaign at the moment, and I have heavily based the world and story off of Explorers. We are about to do the Drowsey story ark (reflavored as stopping a bank robbery), and I cannot wait to see where it goes in the future
@@SpartanChief17C friends and I use this sound track for a couple of dnd sessions. It hurt to hear don't forget me cause my favorite character died in my arms.
I have been making orchestra music for two years now. I have to say, this games music was one of the sole reasons I started. It got me through a very tough time, and inspired me to play an instrument. Years later I would start writing, and now I am composing the soundtrack for a few actual games. I wish i could meet the man who made the original score and this one just to tell them how much they mean to me.
the man who wrote PMD and PMD2 soundtracks is largely Arata Iiyoshi I believe I just recently started hearing his music and it is very similar to PMD's OST
f. h . g Nope, it’s quite excellent: - They added rare qualities, adding another layer of depth to the game. The Rainbow Gummy is also another reward to look forward to, which is always useful since it isn’t color specific. - The Dojo has a purpose now. It can level up Pokemon faster, but only if you got the tickets. This allows people to use other Pokemon without endless grinding, instead of leaving them to rot in friend camps. The tickets also increases the reward pool, which was kind of lacking. - They gave your party members an competent AI this time around, without having to force feed them a metric ton of specifically colored gummies. - The tutorial is great for new players, both the in-game message wiki and the dojo tutorial. I honestly don’t see why this remake could ever be considered bad.
@@FlameUser64 If they do it would be the other way around. DP came out first. Makes since though. Uxie gaurds the lake, so I can see why it would have some of the cave theme in the song.
It was a sad day when all of these beautiful remixes disappeared. I understand that remixing is risky in France. When you say the channel is closing, did you mean this channel or the the original OE Remix channel? In other words, will the videos posted here be here to stay?
Probably do yourself a favor and find a place to download these. I was so sad when the channel got shut down. They can't get rid of these forever though, it seems enough different people have copies!
@@InvalidPlaysGames Above poster is right; this track is called "Time Gear" in-game, with the slower one you hear everywhere being called "Time Gear Remix". There is no track called "Fogbound Lake".
@@UltimaSpark50 exactly. This song just HAPPENS to play during the Fogbound Lake scene. Explorers of Time and Darkness didn’t have their songs listed, so people had to come up with the names themselves (this was later changed with the release of Explorers of Sky, but some things just stick with fans)
Likely 6/8 by the way the phrases seem to be broken up, the lilting melody lends itself a bit more to a 6/8 in my opinion. That being said, it could be easily written in either. Plus, I'm no music major: just an enthusiast from my high school days. XD
Sounds and feels more like 3/4 to me personally. Phrasing does give it a 6/8 vibe, but the underlying rhythm feels more 3/4. I think you guys are just in feeling it could be either one.
Due to the frequency of notes, it's 6/8. Technically, that's the same as 3/4, but again, frequency. It's the same thing with Coldplay's Clocks. It is technically 4/4, but considered to be 8/8.
Ok, I just feel like saying this now: If anyone wants to support the person who originally made these remixes, go to his channel, here: ruclips.net/channel/UCvx700lGM65cZKe_UxGD1HQ He only does original music now, but it is still amazing! Oh, I'm quite interested in what games have you composed for. I'm sure someone inspired by PMD2 music would do a quite awesome music.

I wish they'd remaster the game for Switch
Well they didn't quite deliver what you asked for, but still...

Only one dislike right now too. Coincidence? I think not.
Everybody gansta till Uxie bends light to make a solid thing that attacks with enough power to make land
oh goodness im hearing some of temporal spire in this. how far do the leitmotifs go....
The entire game
ive noticed XD im now looking in all of them. because sheesh they hid them everywhere.......
So far. The leitmotif is even in the main-series Diamond and Pearl as well. Just listen to the Lake themes. ;D
Wait, the Lake themes have Time Gear in them? Oh btw, it's not that this song has Temporal Spire in it. It's that Temporal Spire has this song in it.

I had to get through Uxie’s damned illusion Groudon to listen to this theme…and it was worth it!
I got pmd2 when I was 12ish and could never beat "groudon". tonight I finally beat it and this tune alone was reward enough
So epic! It fits so well with a series finale I'm gonna make when I start animating. Can't do much now since ya know... school life.
Where is my Uxie?!
XD
Sound little like Anistar city (6g) one of my favorite song with pmd2/3
Cross fingers we get Explorers DX announced tomorrow

I've downloaded several of them already. Thanks tho.
This isn't his/her channel
Wait in France?
Isn't this "Time Gear" and not Fogbound Lake?
Kevin Flores Time Gear is a remixed version of Fogbound Lake anyways.

probably 6/8
Probably 6/8. Since then it can be written as 3/4 at bits by just doubling the time on each note
