The only big problem with all of them except for Gates (and maybe Rescue Team it's the only one I haven't played) is that they all fall into the "Never trust Dark types or Ghost types" cliche. Seriously if you followed that golden rule you would've already known that Dusknoir and Nuzleaf were evil just because they were Dark or Ghost type.
Dusknoir technically isn't evil and if you think about it, it would only make sense to send a pokemon such as him. He can disappear and go through walls, he's a one-poke exploration team with powerful attacks and one that can hit two tiles away. For nuzleaf, well... I don't think anyone was expecting him to be evil just because he was a dark type. And red/blue rescue team had Gengar but it showed immediately he was evil instead of pretending not to be.
Back when the Mystery Dungeon decimated the main series in storytelling, and could throw down with the big boys at Square Enix and BioWare. Storytelling carried the early entries, and carried them FAR.
I will remember my first ever playthrough of the game, myself as Riolu with Eevee and Groyvle going on what was an all or nothing mission to a mysterious land. (Somehow whenever I do a replay I end up as Riolu or Chimchar, seems Fighting types are my thing)
As you stood there in front of Dialga, you feel a burst of energy emenating from within. Suddenly you are blown back as the tower crumbles slightly, sending rocks scrambling in every direction. As you steady yourself, you don't see a Pokémon. You see a God, fighting to the end.
You knew it might come down to this in the end. And you had no intention of giving a god the chance to fight fair and square against you, to halt the all-important task you came all this way for. So you came prepared. Your partner jumped in the way of Dialga's first attack -- a heroic sacrifice, one that bought you a few precious seconds to draw your trump card: a nondescript seed with very potent effects, if only you could aim true and land it in the deity's mouth mid-roar, to send the raging legend to slumber.
I think for me, Primal Dialga will always be the hardest battle in PMD2. He's overly op, distorsion hits like a truck, and you can basically get killed in 2 shots. But man... That son is epic. It makes it so that you want to move on and keep fighting.
The most annoying part for me were the random intimidator activations in which you had to skip your turn. Along that he could hit you from anywhere with Roar of Time which was a one hit KO if your team wasn't strong enough. The real battle was the random test from the guild, Dugtrio's Earthquake took out both my characters because of ground type weakness

@@Tb55555 the fact chunsoft didn't stick with this format for the future games in the series. I'ma say it right now, the Explorers games were by far the best Pokemon games in terms of story... And I am taking into account the mainline games... Their on par with black and whites story. So it floors me that the devs over at chunsoft instead decided to sanitize and simplify gates to infinity and super. They have the ability to do so much more but wimped out.

@asaeampan sometimes you can be hella overleveled in this game and still struggle. I know this from Mystery Dungeon DX (My only mystery dungeon game yes i plan to play some older ones too.) I grinded for power drinks, accuracy drinks, and Protein/Calcium, More revive seeds and oran berries and still couldn't beat Rayquaza. All I needed was a better strategy of spreading out my teammates so I didn't waste 3 revive seeds each turn to hyper beam.
there is a certain charm to the crunchiness of the DS Midis that can never be replaced. And the absolutely gorgeous Pixel art is something they for sure won't replicate. But it'd still be cool to see

Man, I remember the time when i ran out of reviver seeds before getting to primal dialga, so when i fighted i used x eye ,stun and sleep seeds. My partner (Riolu) was doing the health draining with brick break i got from a tm and i was like "RANDOM SEEDS GO!". Man i miss those times.

To me the most brilliant part of this already amazing battle theme is that it’s actually a remix of “in the hand of fate” such amazing detail driving home the devotion and sacrifice of your character
No pokemon game has ever had a song that hit quite the same way for me. The only thing that came close was the credits music in pokemon black and white.
I remember the epicness of the 1rst time you fight him... And the luckiness was present too. Guts passive activating 4 times, no rez seed, at the end i finished the fight for the 1rst time with ~5 HP for both my Pokemon, I went crazy. Sad that there's no good Mystery Dungeon that got created after (and got hold of). I really wanna see a new one, just to relive that experience...

I've finished it two one week ago, and all i have to say is that dialga's battle was epic and emotional.
OMG I love this! EoS made me cry more times than I care count!
Man, I remember the time when i ran out of reviver seeds before getting to primal dialga, so when i fighted i used x eye ,stun and sleep seeds. My partner (Riolu) was doing the health draining with brick break i got from a tm and i was like "RANDOM SEEDS GO!". Man i miss those times.

To me the most brilliant part of this already amazing battle theme is that it’s actually a remix of “in the hand of fate” such amazing detail driving home the devotion and sacrifice of your character
No pokemon game has ever had a song that hit quite the same way for me. The only thing that came close was the credits music in pokemon black and white.

I remember the epicness of the 1rst time you fight him... And the luckiness was present too. Guts passive activating 4 times, no rez seed, at the end i finished the fight for the 1rst time with ~5 HP for both my Pokemon, I went crazy.
Sad that there's no good Mystery Dungeon that got created after (and got hold of). I really wanna see a new one, just to relive that experience...

@@Yami_Industries I didn't even know of the use of my image in this video until I saw the video in my recommendations, it's always a bit frustrating when you see something you made yourself in a video of someone else while they're not crediting you. But when they give credit and put a link to my social media or the original artwork then it's ok for me :) That's why I took a look in the comments: to find people who would have liked to see the original image :)
I think this is arguably my favorite remix of this theme of all the ones I've heard! Especially the part from 0:22-0:42!
