Hey! Just found your channel after seeing your comment on one of the Omakase videos and it looks incredible! I can't wait to comb through your past uploads for new recipes and lessons!
My longdu Cantonese grandma would cook this “vegetarian” dish with dried oysters 😅. I thought she was uneducated, but then I found out it’s quite common for Cantonese to treat dried oysters as vegetarian. So…just a warning to vegans/vegetarians out there 😳
Hi, the sweetness in this dish definitely plays per our preference but not to the point that it'd ruin the dish (otherwise I'd assume everyone that tasted this dish before we recorded the video would have voiced that opinion). This recipe has many salty aspects incorporated into it that you won't find in other recipes that may use fresh vegetables, so the quantified brown sugar blocks is required to balance the dish. If you find it overly sweet then you'll need to balance it with some salt, or possibly add more water if you've dried the dish out too much, until it tickles your fancy.
Hey guys, so close to CNY - what are you planning to cook for it?
Excellent! Thanks from Brazil. 👏👏👏

Sorry but this recipe has way too much sugar. Ruined over $100 in ingredients…
