Hola Radu, moltes gràcies for your comment :) I also went to uni at UAB, it is quite a nice campus with a good atmosphere! Let me know if you would like any request for learning Catalan :)
In you opinion, what language would you study ( Spanish or Catalan) if you were visiting Menorca frequently, I know they speak Minorcan but are part of the Catalan region.
Hola! That´s a good question. In Menorca they speak both Spanish and "Menorqui", which is a dialect/language of standard Catalan (what I speak). As much as I love Catalan, I would encourage you to learn Spanish (as you can use it it many other places) and learn a few local words in Menorqui :)
Gràcies for making these videos. You are the best!! I’m about to spend a year attending school in Vic with Rotary Youth Exchange and Catalán resources are hard to find
Hola Molly! Many thanks for your kind words :) That sounds great! I can hardly think of places that could be described "more Catalan" than Vic ;) They have a beautiful accent in that central area. Hope you have a fab time there and you have time to explore the area!
Hola Maria! --Philip R.
Learn Catalan from Barcelona Thanks! Cause I am learning Catalan and Spanish cause I'm living in Barcelona. And I actually have catalan classes at school and in just 4 months I already know a lot!
Great question! First of all, "l·l" is a group of modified letters and different from "l" or "ll". It sounds like an extensive "L" and you can often find it in words that begin with "all, ill, coll". I will soon make a video explaining this!
- Moltes gracies, adeu !
do you consider yourself to be Spanish or just catalan or both? I am asking because I have been following some of the events going on at this moment in the region. Thanks!
Hola! That's a great question, but also delicate and very complex, especially nowadays. It is impossible to summarise my thinking in 1 sentence. But long story short, I would say I am both Catalan and Spanish (in spite of the very sad and unfortunate events over the last months). However, Catalan language, culture and traditions are closer to my heart.
Thank you for the response. I see the catalan language as a mixture of French, Spanish (castella) and Portuguese. I Will very much love to visit tarragona one day and learn catala.
@@kat93king8 Catalan is a language in between other languages, but not a mix of languages. And for your question. I am Catalan only. Not Spanish at all.
Today was my first lesson to learn Catalan language in the school in Barcelona and no body speak English to explain to me and every body speak Spanish also the tether and I didn’t speak Spanish:(
Hola Mahmoud! How come you are learning Catalan? :) I understand, it is not easy when you want to learn a language from scratch and there is no language in common between the students and the teacher! Hope it is getting better :)
Haha unfortunately Romanian is not that popular... yet! ;) We are completely bilingual and we can speak both Catalan and Spanish. English is taught at school and most young and some middle aged people feel comfortable with it :)
Cool ! Here in Romania my first foreign language in school was french, second was english . But I speack italian, german, spanish, portuguesse too:)) And a little Serbian and a little greek lol. And it comes really easy to learn foreign languages. Since we were at the intersection of the Old Empires, we have a like a fetish here to speack at least 5,6 foreign languages and to be able to comunicate with everyone. Romanian should be the Officiall Language after we Unite Europe and recreate the Roman Empire :)))
Grandpa was greek, grandma german, other were polish jewish :) All came here in Romania with busyness before WW2 and the new city was full of milionaires. My grandgrandparent lived better than their cousins in USA. If the russians would not have destroyed us after the end of the war with their communism ocupation , mass deportations and mass murder, today my city in Romania would be similar to Monte Carlo. PS : ''Molt ben fet'' would sound mot-a-mot in romanian '' Mult bine facut '' but we say '' Foarte ( Forte ) bine (facut ). Well done .
Such a beautiful blend of Ibero-Romance, French and Italian. But mostly the sister language of Occitan. I hope Catalan never dies.
Thank you very much. You are a good teacher
Thank you so much! Going to Barcelona in May and would love to learn some of its beautiful language!
Merci, have a great time then :)

Why in catalan is always putted the mark • between two L? For example il•legal.

Hello
Now you teach very basic things.
Can you please explain me substitute acording to the present & past tenses
Hola! Can you please further explain what you mean by "substitute to the present and past tense"?
Please if I want to say take care of my child for me how do you say it
You do not pronounce the r at the end correct? Easy to learn when you’re French speaking and now some Castellón?
Good effort
Thank you
:)

Hi Maria, thanks for the videos! Have you considered giving private lessons via skype? Let me know, I would be interested
I guess that the literal translation of "Com et dius ?" is: "How do they say you ?" Is'n it ?
Hola! "Com et dius" would actually be "how do you say yourself?". Conjugation for DIR: jo dic, tu dius, ell diu... Hope that is helpful :)
Moltes gràcies !
Finally - someone not speaking at machine-gun pace.
😂😂 I shall take that as a compliment
