Glad you decided to hire out some of the work! Can't believe how you manage everything between great video content, different platforms, renos, family! Don't burn yourself out!
Praise the Lord!
Its going to be a long fun journey love you guys.
I cant wait to see the Reno of the Church going to be fantastic. I've just been rewatching old videos waiting for new ones ha!
I like that coat! Looks toasty warm.
awesome cant wait ...
i cannot wait for these videos
Love the production quality! The cinematic intro shots really add a lot to the video. Keep up the great work!
Phil Colins reference? I love it.
What a jacket!
The church purchase is actually how I found you and I have binged your other channel and really enjoying the shorts, but this church renovation is definitely something I want to see come along, this is a dream for me, be great to see it become a reality for you.
Cheers Andrew
Amazing the new journey!
let's face it. The two season climate is not winter and summer.
It is winter and road construction season :)
So excited to watch this journey
Somehow reading your thumbnail made me Sing "Stu Stu studio" in my head.
So well played. Its the only reason I clicked or commented.
Looking forward to the church reno. Watched all the videos of house reno.
Plan on gutting & renovating the kitchen in about 3 years. Going to need permits & contractors. Moving the sink, new electrical, lighting & all new cabinetry. Hoping this Reno on the church will help make it easier for me to manage my way through it. Bring it on baby !!
Cheers Bill.
Can’t wait to see how it all comes together 🙃🥂
Awesome . I’m doing the exact same thing in Ontario. Our studio is a recording studio so it is complicated due to controlling sound transmission and absorption . We also rezoned it. I am at the stage of framing the basement . We now have 12 foot ceilings down there. Looking forward to this channel . I wish I wasn’t a little bit ahead of you though Lol
Been waiting on this
You could call it the “Undercroft” instead of basement. Much cooler name. That’s the term the Church of England uses for a basement in a church.
we debated buying a few churches over the years...i can't wait to see this unfold!
Cheers Emily!
Give Max a raise. He's doing great.
Hey Jeff just wanted to ask I replace the light fixture that burnt out I put in the new slim LED fixture but it doesn’t turn on I tested it with a voltmeter there is power
Do you have a layout/master plan before you started the entire project?
still drawing that up. just a conceptual idea at this point.
One thing I wouldn't mind seeing/hearing about is how to determine your work flow. For example the home I just bought needs siding, I'd like to replace the drywall, and potential windows. I'd also like to look into exterior foam insulation. Do I start with the drywall? Do I start with the widows then siding? Etc.
Planning a project is incredibly underrated it seems! Can't wait to see what you guys end up with
Absolutely windows before siding, but do them at the same time if you can (no use re-doing the work to seal the windows). Drywall can happen whenever, that's a project that can easily sit for months in any state. Any exterior work needs to be done fast.
get a good exterior protection before investing on the interior!
Jeff got a nice F-150
Occupancy permit? DAMN THIS SHIT IS OFF THE HOOK! Keep it up!
I would love to hear the concise details of legally building and renoing!
Very excited for the new journey!
Us too!
Jeff, I have been combing your videos looking for ideas on a 6x8 concrete basement closet I have that I want to convert to a indoor pepper grow room. Would I be correct in approaching this grow room sort of like a heated floor basement bathroom due to moisture and humidity control? The basement floor is concrete, built in 2019 and is roughed in to be finished. The 3 main walls in the 6x8 are roughed in with studs and 2 of the outside walls are insulated and covered in a thin white plastic and the one wall that is in the interior of the basement is only studded and not insulated so I plan to do that and cover the walls in that purple mildew resistant drywall. I have been thinking I want to paint the bare concrete with Kilz, and then put 6 mil plastic down and I am considering putting in a heated floor but I want a dry one or whatever and don't want to mortar because I suck at this stuff :)I have to figure out electrical too to run one 200 watt light, 3x 20w fans and whatever the floor heater system is so I can maintain the room parameters in a cold winter for my plants. The peppers sit in plastic bins to catch most of my watering, but the floor can get wet and likely will be wet but there is no chance of flood or anything, just spilled moisture and whatever comes as the plants dry from watering. I thought this was going to be fairly simple but I want to do it right and not have it look like garbage...I want it to be professional and clean if that makes sense.
I hear you on everything with COVID.
We have a massive shortage of trades in Manitoba, we can't get materials, prices are going up and no signs of slowing down in both the reno world and new con.
Housing prices are getting out of hand, if you want cheap you buy in the slums or move an hour away from the city.
How's the weather out east? Winnipeg is going -36 core and -46 with winds.
Max, your film making game continues to improve with each video. Well done, buddy!
I can't imagine doing a renovation of this scale with the lumber prices being what they are!
Lumber prices are almost at pre-pandemic levels now.
And as Jeff said earlier, before pandemic, it was unreasonably low, so this little bit higher price might stay for good.
Yeah you need 2million you tube subscribers😉. At least we will learn a lot of what would be applicable to small scale reno's.
@@juzoli where do you live that lumber prices are pre pandemic??
@@number1pappy East-Coast.
2x4 sticks are $3.x. During the pandemic it was up to $13.
How much is it at your place?
@@juzoli it's $7 dollars for 2x4s , but more importantly it's $74 dollars for 3/4 subfloor !! I'm on the lower east coast.
Where is this? That weather looks like summer. I guess this is half a year ago. 😂 Would be nice if you provided that sort of detail up front or in the details. Where is “here”?
He talks like Canada. Out. Process...
Like the great Canadian beekeeper
Is it possible to winterize the 5th wheel from your COLD winter so you can live in it?
no so we head down south
Yes, I sang to the thumbnail
wow thanks now Su Su Sussudio is stuck in my head.... lol
Loving the phil collins!
We have a leak in our roof windows. Do we call a roof guy or window guy?
Phil Collins yeah?
Su su susudio
Cheers!
The church of DIY! excellent tax strategy!
Out of interest, did you find that any people in the community were against you renovating a church? Any difficult people you had to deal with?
the brackets on those shelves are incredibly distracting. If this is going to be your background for the long haul, focus on the aesthetics.
