  • San Pedro is a lively coastal town on the island of Ambergris Caye, the largest island off the coast of Belize. Known as "La Isla Bonita" from Madonna's hit song, San Pedro attracts tourists with its beautiful beaches, colourful houses, relaxed atmosphere and abundance of activities.
On Caye Caulker, we relaxed a little and enjoyed the slow pace of island life. By the way, the most typical means of transport here is the golf cart.
For breakfast, we had pancakes as well as a hearty Belizean dish called fry jacks. These are deep-fried and filled with cheese, egg and 🫘 beans, for example. You'll definitely be full afterwards. 😅🫄
For an underwater activity 🤿 we dived into the second largest barrier reef in the world, the Belize Barrier Reef. This lies off the coast of San Pedro and is home to a breathtaking variety of marine life.
The Hol Chan Marine Reserve 🐠 is home to a variety of coral reefs, fish species and marine life. We were lucky and even got to dive with a manatee.
The popular dive site Shark Ray Alley 🦈 is known for its encounters with nurse sharks and stingrays. Our boat guide lured the animals with food and we had the incredible experience of being very close to the sharks. A little scary but also incredibly impressive to see the animals up close.
