    Excellent message, especially your closing words... "Make your own." I started that journey by making Mayonnaise... It comes out with a green colour, because I use Olive Oil and Avocado Oil, but it tastes better than any Store-bought Mayo... Then, I started making my own Salad Dressings. I began with Creamy Caesar and then got the bug... Now I make all of my own dressings... Take it a step further and make your own Dijon and other mustard's... it's easy, but one needs patience, because some need to be aged. I even make "Sriracha", Sauerkraut and more... Yes, I'm a "Foodie". However, I can't seem to find good quality ingredients is anything, even in my local Health-food store... Making my own, to me, is the Only way to go... Oh! and get creative...

    Even organic vegetable oils (soy, safflower, sunflower, corn, canola, cottonseed etc.) ARE highly processed with hexane (used to squeeze the most out of whatever source.) All produce trans fats when heated. If these oils are expeller pressed, that means the oil's extracted without hexane, with pressure alone. The best, most healthy oils are Avocado oil, Olive oil, Ghee, Coconut Oil, Macademia oil, Tallow (animal fat if grassfed) and some nut oils for flavor (such as toasted sesame oil, walnut oil etc.)

    * DR. B, AN IMPORTANT QUESTION REGARDING PSYLLIUM HUSK POWDER USAGE 4 U 2 ANSWER IN A FUTURE VID MAYBE, & HOPEFULLY HERE AS WELL, PLEASE. *
    I RECENTLY came across a budding (hopefully) keto channel I LIKE VERY MUCH EVEN THOUGH THE FILMING QUALITY IS VERY CASUAL (I like that too actually) that inspires me to enter my kitchen - and so in this 1 vid on that channel there is a recipe for chicken fingers or veggies etc. that has only 2 ingredients, outside of spices: dunk piece in egg them cover thoroughly with 100% PSYLLIUM HUSK, fry, and it comes out CRUNCY AND DELICIOUS. I made this for lunch yesterday, a very moderate amount actually as it was a first try, and I USED 2/3 c ALMOND FLOUR AND 1/3 c psyllium husk powder only, thank GOD. STILL, the following was my experience , and note my 4 pickles I mention later as well:
    WELL, THE CHICKEN FINGERS WERE HEAVENLY AND CRUNCHED DELIGHTFULLY - I cannot even imagine what psylliam husk used alone which is recommended on that vid would have been be like in terms of the nutty taste and crunch - cloud 9? BUT BUT BUT ...
    IS IT SAFE TO EAT IT LIKE THIS ALONE, GIVEN THAT IT IS USED AS THE MAIN INGREDIENT IN METAMUCIL which I avoid. Metamucil, for those who may not know, is sold as a remedy to regulate bowels "naturally" and yes, it IS A natural substance, BUT one would not need to purchase it IF one SIMPLY ate enuf veggies! Argh! At any rate, the directions fir using it are YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DRINK LOTS OF WATER WHEN TAKING METAMUCIL THROUGHOUT ANY DAY YOU TAKE IT - ugh, WATER BLOAT!)
    IS THIS an ingredient to only be used in VERY small quantities along with other ingredients therefore, NOT something to be used alone like this? - ESPECIALLY when it tastes soooooo good as a sole coating with egg THAT ONE WOULD WANT TO EAT THIS EVERY DAY - I CERTAINLY COULD, in terms of ease and quickness and taste ! It also says if not consumed properly it can cause choking or something. (don't exactly recall - a bit dangerous in other words)
    SO BACK TO MY EXPERIENCE SINCE LUNCH YESTERDAY : AFTER EATING A MODERATE AMOUNT I WAS THIRSTY LIKE DRY MOUTH TONGUE STICKING TO UPPER PALATE. - SO I DRANK LIQUIDS ONLY TO FIND THE SAME MOUTH DRYNESS RETURNING A COUPLE HRS LATER, and repeat & repeat!!! And when I went to the lu, only small amounts came out, so my feet are a bit swollen now (I WAS careful NOT TO over drink and I did put minerals/electrolytes into the h2o as you recommend.
    .*.MUST ADD.*. : before realizing this would not be a good idea to eat these psyllium husked chicken fingers -- which thank God I had the sense/instinct to only make a moderate number of -- I made the mistake of ALSO eating FOUR pickles with those chicken fingers !!!
    So PALEASE DR. B: IS THIS COATING SAFE TO BE CONSUMED LIKE THIS WITHOUT LIMITS OR IS THIS a case of my gettibg inspired by a totally new cook (so perhaps lack of some chemistry background needed?) doing a channel vid who perhaps is not affected at all by the psyllium husk and so is recommending something innocently that can be problematic for many many viewers.
    I do not believe I have EVER seen ANYONE on u tube recommend using psyl'm husk as a main ingredient, or even a strong one of a few. Why?
    TY💪😇❤🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓.

    I'm seriously looking at utilizing the keto diet you did say it's not even about changing things up as to how you get the nutrients absorb better. Also I've started to go heavily into about how to take supplements and how they work together and what foods contain them as well as all this about enzymes, amino acids co-factors and all this other stuff so that I have a really good working understanding of it all and how it can help with my number of things but mainly inflammation is what kicks off disease so that's not where you want to go of course. one of the main aspects of health is utilizing minerals and vitamins for energy also muscle Health, gut health are a couple of the main ones. Also how nutrients play into like organ health etc & longevity, corollaries between stress & health & the whole smash but how to simplify it all way down. They really should do something about how soil in the u.s tampered from chemicals & the rest this affects it all clearly

    Yeah this video piece reminds me of a few years ago when I was out of the country and myself,
    along with several of my friends had all gone out dancing all night long,
    So the next morning around breakfast time all of us stopped off at a fast food restaurant in order to grab some breakfast because we were all very hungry that morning after the extended workout from the night before,
    So while we were all just standing there in line in order to be waited on,
    I noticed this little boy who was around nine (9 years old) ;
    And that crazy little kid was grabbing up a handful of those coffee creamers, and one at a time while he was waiting in line behind his relatives that little kid was running through all of those coffee creamers and he would open up each one of those things and shotgun the creamers out of their tiny containers into that little boy’s mouth,
    It was just like he hadn’t had anything in his system for days;
    Talk about some funny stuff;
    But condiments definitely have lots of junk inside there:
    That sick, or eventually to be sick little kid;
    It makes my stomach turn upside down thinking about what he was doing ,
    Yuck 🤢

    Dr. Berg can you answer a question for me that seems kind of controversial. Being on keto gives me a lot of energy. Like a ton. When I ate carbs I'd sleep for 8 hours a day and take a nap when possible, usually after big meals. Now I don't sleep nearly as much. Some days it can be really low but I don't feel tired afterwards even on days i get only 3 hours of sleep. Does going keto actually lower a body (and minds?!) Need for sleep? Or should I continue to struggle with trying to get 8 hours of Sleep a night.

    • @vickieturner8688
      @vickieturner8688 4 года назад +1

      Yes, Keto/IF does affect some people's sleep requirement. It did for Dr. Berg and others that have made comments. I've had times when I only got 3 hours of sleep and had plenty of energy and brain power. This is just another blessing of following his Keto/IF plan.

      @@lonniesheets Yes, he does. I've found that I sometimes have 3-4 hours of sleep and wake up raring to go all day. The other days, I may get 6-8 hours of sleep, with the same energy. Just for your own assurance, the Doc has a Q&A every Friday morning at 11 a.m. If you are subscribed to his channel and get notifications, he puts out a reminder the day before, with the phone number, etc. You can call in or use FB, I think. I don't use any social media sites at all, so I don't pay attention to that stuff. I suppose you could call his office to ask one of his staff members, too.

    Why doesn´t anything happens?
    Posted on 02/12/2020 by Uffe Ravnskov
    If LDL-cholesterol is bad, as we have been told for many years, those with the highest values should of course have a shorter life than those with low values because, as we have been told as well, high LDL-cholesterol is the main cause of all kinds of cardiovascular diseases, and cardiovascular disease is the commonest cause of death in most countries. But as I have told in a previous newsletter, we have found that elderly people with high LDL-cholesterol live the longest.
    Our paper was published in BMJ and hitherto no one has been able to point at a study documenting the opposite. On the contrary, after the publication of our paper similar findings have been found in six studies including about 750 000 individuals in all ages from eleven countries.
    In a 10-year Slovakian follow-up study of almost 500 elderly people with high blood pressure, those with high total cholesterol and those with high LDL-cholesterol lived just as long as those with low values.
    In a British study of almost 100,000 people above the age of eighty followed for 15 years, those with the highest total cholesterol lived the longest; both among those on statin treatment and those without.
    In an Australian study of almost 1300 men about the age of seventy followed for about six years, those with the highest cholesterol and without statin treatment lived the longest, and those with the lowest levels suffered more often from cardiovascular disease.
    In a five-year American follow-up study of more than 2600 healthy people above the age of 75, those with the highest LDL-cholesterol did not suffer more often from cardiovascular disease than those with the lowest values.
    In two Korean studies of more than half a million young and middle-age people without statin treatment followed for about five years, mortality was highest among those with the lowest LDL-cholesterol.
    In a review of five studies from Latin America including almost 28 000 people of all ages followed for 5-12 years; none of the studies showed strong associations between individual lipid biomarkers and all-cause or cardiovascular mortality
    In a Chinese study including almost 70 000 elderly people followed for 3-4 years, those with high LDL-cholesterol lived just as long as those with low values.
    Probably you wonder why many previous studies of young and middle-aged people have shown that high cholesterol is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Most likely, stress is a more common phenomenon among young and middle-aged people than among senior citizens, and stress is able to raise cholesterol by up to 50 per cent and may cause heart disease by other mechanisms than by raising cholesterol.
    However, a few months ago, European Society of Cardiology and European Atherosclerosis Society published revisions of their guidelines for the management of chronic heart disease, blood lipids and diabetes repeating and repeating all the well-known general advices. Together, the three papers with the new guidelines written by 69 authors and 119 reviewers fill 218 complicated pages and had more than 1700 references to the medical literature. However, none of the studies mentioned above were mentioned.
    In the guidelines there were links to the authors´ and the reviewers´ conflicts of interest. They were difficult to find but here they come:
    The 23 authors of the Diabetes guidelines (72 pages)
    The 25 authors of the guidelines for the chronic coronary syndromes (63 pages)
    The 20 authors of the dyslipidaemia guidelines (66 pages)
    A relevant question is, why we should lower cholesterol if high cholesterol is harmless or beneficial, but as far as I know, the mentioned studies have made no impact on the cholesterol authorities in any country.
    Today, millions of healthy people are treated with a drug with minimal benefit, if any at all, and with many serious side effects. According to the drug industry, side effects from statin treatment are rare. If you believe in that, read the following papers:
    How Statistical Deception Created the Appearance That Statins Are Safe and Effective in Primary and Secondary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease
    The Statin-Low Cholesterol-Cancer Conundrum
    Prevalence and Management of Symptoms Associated with Statin Therapy in Community Practice: Insights from the Patient and Provider Assessment of Lipid Management (PALM) Registry
    Obviously, the politicians responsible for health care do not know about these facts. Or are they paid by Big Pharma to keep silent? Read for instance a recent report from The Center for Responsive Politics. You can read about this organization on Wikipedia
    In 2018 we therefore published a review of all the falsifications of the cholesterol hypothesis in the journal Expert Review of Clinical Pharmacology. According to Taylor & Francis who publish more than a hundred scientific journals, more than 10,000 open access papers were published during the year 2018 and our paper was placed on the top of their list of the most-downloaded papers. But nothing happens.
    In our view, the only way to stop the cholesterol campaign, the greatest medical scandal in modern time, is to inform the general public. Together with some of my colleagues I have tried to publish many critical articles about the cholesterol campaign for many years in the media, but in most cases in vain. Therefore, I ask you to spread this information to your family members, to all of your friends and colleagues and to all kinds of organizations.

    I wish the FDA made food companies put the nutrition of the total package next to the servings. that way they cant hide anything in the serving sizes. sure for people who eat a bag of potato chips, they know its not 80 calories in the whole bag, but when things appear to have 0 whatever, you have to do research on food to find out that its a lie. for example, heavy cream has carbs, you wouldn't know because the serving size is only 1 or 2 Tablespoons and shows as 0 on the labels.
