@Renegademaster15 And at the end of the day also, Noel Gallagher has never written Sally Cinnamon, This is the One, Made Of Stone or I Wanna be Adored. All of those were written by Ian Brown alone. And for every decent Noel Gallagher song like some of the ones you mention, there's some real turkeys like Stand By Me, with insightful lines like "Made a meal and threw it up on Sunday".
A great comeback. John squire, Ian Brown, the Stones Roses inspire my life whenever i listen to their songs for the past 20 yrs. One of the best Indie Manchester Band ever produced and still it will be forever. Forever "Stone Roses" Aszri aka Wak Country : Singapore
Dude is like some sort of punk rock hip hop oasis lookin' guy...but i love his cocky swagger,he does it way better than others i think, not so out of control or truly hostile, just a don't give a shit type of attitude, while all the words clearly shows he gives a shit ;-)
I know, huh? And look at this super talented group he has put together, complete w/ the turbino wrapped tamborine player, keyboardist from a local village church group, and brand-new guitarist, all while keeping AND matching PERFECT PITCH! Whooooooooo Hooooooooooo! He's just SO talented!
I'm not from England (I wish) im not even a european, im just a guy from South America who like good music, i can't even speak english well, but i'm proud to be a fan of The Stone Roses (and Oasis) You guys from England, you rule the fucking world with the music, and you know it.
Reminds me when I saw PiL in 1990 or so...the biggest cheer from the audience was when Lydon did EMI and God Save the Queen, Brown will eventually reform the roses, its only a matter of time and ego deflating.
@STFCstoneroses Ian is the coolest lead man ever and sets the bar in his own era. Anyone who denies shouldnt even be encouraged and should simply ignored. He is also the best wordsmith since Lennon and Syd Barret.
Liam Gallagher was the frontman from Oasis one of the the best band in the world. In 1995/6 all the world was singing Wonderwall and Don´t look back in anger. They make the most convenert gig in the history of the Rock and Roll. You should listen to him, he is amazing
love ian. the way. manchester .. how he walks.., how he speaks, the ftee men , the front line men,the mirror that he is wake us from the ilusiones that we are sometimes but the lyrics poética is so sweet hope and positive that show you yours demons with joy. like natural so far of the guilty. demons preconceptions, that kill our free spirit love blood. thats Is and mean Mr brown in my life
i cant beleive youve even said that! the stone roses are the most influential band in the UK! fair enough oasis are a top band but the roses are the boys of rock mate!
@paulph12002 And for every decent Stone Roses song, there's Second Coming... I noticed everything you said was what he written when in Stone Roses rather than solo as well, while they are all brilliant songs, Noel has definitely written a whole lot more
excuse my ignorance but i am from canada, and not 100% knowing of the chronology of people and places not known to me :-)...but thanx for the info, and it doesnt surprise me to learn that Oasis "follow" him,he seems better/realer than them even tho i know there half decent people...
The joke is he's not only playing the Gretsch, but he's got the twin reverb and the mesa boogie. I want to know if when John quit he forgot his equipment.
I didn't mention Second Coming because all but 3 songs on that album were written by John Squire anyway. And it's the Roses' equivalent of Be Here Now, with songs that are simply too long and not very good. Fair enough then, maybe Noel has been more consistent over a longer period of time.
Believe me Reni was crazier than Keith! "ten keith Moons in one". In the early days the only reason anyone went to see the Roses at the International was cos of Reni!
Liam had become the product of Ian Brown, Paul Weller and John Lennon. Put those three in a blender and you have Liam Gallagher. I love that cocky attitude of Ian and Liam!
I watched him live in Athens many years ago. (I think it was 1998). I'm sure it was one of his worst perfomances. He interrupted songs about 5 times (he was complaining about "the cheap equipment"), he was rude, and of course he couldn't sing at all. I still wonder what's it all about the roses... This LP is still one of my favourites and I think the chemistry between the 4 of them, is the secret of their great songs. Is Brown a legend? Because of his behavior? Is this the essence of music?
awesomely awesome
'sch könnt heulen. So schön ist das!
Gorgeous!!!
IAN BROWN IS A LEGEND!!!END OF.
Ian Brown Genius
I love his little twirl at the beginning, that's got to be the coolest twirl the world has ever seen.
Didn't even bother taking the wrapper off it.
The lyrics are brilliant he never wrote a bad song he's a very intelligent man
when the streets are cold and lonely
ian brown top lad

ABSOLUTE LEGEND
That guitare is spot on. Roll on V 2008!!!
All hail god. This man has buckets of class!
The tunes still have power after all these years.
A difficult song to sing in honesty.... Low rumbling riffs and soaring choruses - one of their best songs in my humble opinion....
I'm not from England (I wish) im not even a european, im just a guy from South America who like good music, i can't even speak english well, but i'm proud to be a fan of The Stone Roses (and Oasis)

LEGEND!!!
He still has the passion. If he didn't he'd of retired from making music by now.
Not many ICONIC figures walk amongst us...Ian Brown is one such figure!
front man of one of the greatest band ever , if that dosent qualify him as a legend what does?
ian brown ian brown ian brownnnn !!! LEGEND !
A difficult song to sing i reckon - long low verses and soaring choruses..... One of their best songs though...
Liam Gallagher was the frontman from Oasis one of the the best band in the world. In 1995/6 all the world was singing Wonderwall and Don´t look back in anger. They make the most convenert gig in the history of the Rock and Roll. You should listen to him, he is amazing
Christian Gallagher ive never heard of him, he sounds good tho. Ill check him out.
3:28 - epic! He's not thinking only about himself...Show me a person in today's music factory that does that! Not many of them...
Great video , where was this was this ? Steve Davidson on guitar was great !! nice solo
back then he looked a bit rusty round the edges but he's back on top now and his vocals and style are top notch. At least i'd say they were !
He still has it!! Mon the Roses!!

@RamonMadFerIt Você não está sozinho brother!
i'll take that as a compliment. Afterall, i do pride myself on my knowledge of the roses.
I wish i was at glastonbory 2005.
he rarely performs this
love ian. the way. manchester .. how he walks.., how he speaks, the ftee men , the front line men,the mirror that he is wake us from the ilusiones that we are sometimes

nothing around today to touch
these bands.
we miss you'
i cant beleive youve even said that! the stone roses are the most influential band in the UK! fair enough oasis are a top band but the roses are the boys of rock mate!
I actually like Ian's voice live. It's a bit rawer, but good nonetheless.
what a fockin pain always with this finger up and down for the volume
Its cos with the roses the ppl who do the volume n shit r taught when to turn up n down the bass or volume etc. These ppl arent
love the roses
@paulph12002 And for every decent Stone Roses song, there's Second Coming...
I noticed everything you said was what he written when in Stone Roses rather than solo as well, while they are all brilliant songs, Noel has definitely written a whole lot more
il take that offer m8 :P a live cd of it wud be class like it been released?

Not the best vocalist live, but he sounds brilliant on the studio albums. legend because of his music, intelligence, style and talent.
Ian Brown
What a fucking legend!
going to see him at reading 09! cant fuckin wait :D
Hey the way i see it, he wrote the songs, he can sing them any way he wants, they`re HIS, get over the vocal, listen to EVERYTHING.
I actually think he sings pretty reasonably here!
sometimes I fantasise
legend
The Ian Brown attitude! Dirthy Rockstar...
temón!
excuse my ignorance but i am from canada, and not 100% knowing of the chronology of people and places not known to me :-)...but thanx for the info, and it doesnt surprise me to learn that Oasis "follow" him,he seems better/realer than them even tho i know there half decent people...
Yes neiluk1984 he has lost the passion he once had, take a look at some stone roses footage and you will see Ian Brown at his ultimate best.
The need have a one off gigantic reunion show Spike Island Reincarnated!!!!!!
really good vocal here, easily as good as the tsr era and infinitely better than his second coming performances, too much reverb at first though
The joke is he's not only playing the Gretsch, but he's got the twin reverb and the mesa boogie. I want to know if when John quit he forgot his equipment.
HAHAHAHA! Absolutely right!!! COMMENT of the YEAR! The old ladies on here thumbing you down need to lighten the f up!
right on
id very much appreciate the dvd, how can i get it through you?
Nice username :D
hell yes. But don't forget the Bee Gees. Their music is different but their impact is similar to the abovementioned bands; just different times.
haha
love it
tuuuuuuuuune
just saw him live
fuckin amazin
@SwampyQ2 The drummer or the Indian tabla player? ;)
@revengeguy really?? where can i hear it???
I didn't mention Second Coming because all but 3 songs on that album were written by John Squire anyway. And it's the Roses' equivalent of Be Here Now, with songs that are simply too long and not very good. Fair enough then, maybe Noel has been more consistent over a longer period of time.
Believe me Reni was crazier than Keith! "ten keith Moons in one". In the early days the only reason anyone went to see the Roses at the International was cos of Reni!
That may be, but everybody at the gig would rather see the Stone Roses reform and play those songs, and they will do eventually.
fookin britpop my arse, The Roses were 5 years before 'britpop' was even heard of.
I was about 5 rows back :)
Liam had become the product of Ian Brown, Paul Weller and John Lennon. Put those three in a blender and you have Liam Gallagher. I love that cocky attitude of Ian and Liam!
Squire, Reni, Mani. How are you?
fuckinn legend
i'd say Swagger ,not arrogance . Giant Pimp
i was half expecting the electricity to fail on the first chorus!
there are free tools that you will easily find when you google it. I think that the latest real player also does it.

No, I did not call you an idiot I just asked a question. To re-iterate, it's not about hitting the perfect notes. That's what X Factor is for.
