This is a note to Matt specifically. Matt, I've noticed that since you've retired from the county that you seem happier, more relaxed, and more communicative. I'm really happy for you.
I had the same thought. He'd mentioned before that he would have liked to have had more children, but I think this grandbaby will more than make up for it!!
I have used Miss Cindy's Ham recipe for the last 3 hams I have baked, and they were perfect doing it the way she did hers. What stands out to me is that she kept everything simple and following her suggestions has been a winner for me. I so appreciate her contributions to your channel. I pray sweet memories of your years with her will be a comfort to each of you over the holidays.
What a wonderful way to spend a few minutes/hours taking in God’s beauty! Thanks for inviting us along! And Popsicle and chat time!!! God bless and love to all! 💕🤗🙏🏻
Thanks so much for the walk to the creek. So peaceful. It's wonderful Matt can be home with you. My husband was almost 70 til he retired. Love your sweet family. Prayers for granny. 💖
I love watching my Celebrating Appalachia family. Thank you for sharing your walk, the creek, and another day of your lives. Thanks for the prayers also. Blessed! 🤗🙏💕
Matt, you seem so much more relaxed. Tipper, you seem much happier! I'm so happy for both of you. God has blessed you both with this opportunity to work together.
I'm sorry you're having drought. Your woods are so beautiful. I was watching you walk down the path, and I noticed that Matt adjusted his gait to yours Tipper. He probably does it automatically but it's very gentlemanly. You know how much I love these popsicle talks. I remember Parker House rolls as the actual Parker House is in my home city of Boston. But I bet your rolls are better. I have a bad hip so it's hard for me to walk outside, but I love it. Lots of love to you Tipper and your whole family. Granny continues to be in my heart.
Matt, you are a natural. The videos are a higher caliber since you retired and came on full. Time.👏👏👏 y’all are blessed to live in such a beautiful location.
I absolutely love watching both of you sitting outside, chatting and enjoying popsicles. Like you, I am so likely the happiest being outside. I am thankful every day that I have beautiful country around me to enjoy. I love getting lost (not literally) in the beauty of the forest, lakes, rivers and all of nature. Blessings x
It's wonderful to have a sense of place. A place to call home.Congratulations deer hunter on your 4 deer. I love your place. It's so pretty and peaceful. Well except for the loud crows lol.
So happy you all are able to work together, and that Matt gets to do all the hunting he wants. I know you all will miss Miss Cindy this year for the holidays. Many blessings!
My son got a 14 point deer Saturday. He had it ground and made sausage. His daughter brought us a couple pieces and it was the best sausage I have ever ate.
My hometown Sioux Falls (SD), and the (eponymous) falls there give me that feeling of 'home'. Old pictures exist of those falls, Victorian ladies/gentlemen standing amidst those ancient formations. One can look at such old images on a cell phone! and glance up to find the precise spot! Y'all know that deep, rich, bittersweet mixture of feeling. Reminds us that we are mortal and this life goes quickly! Thank you Tipper and Matt! 🙌🏼 💞
We had pecan trees on the farm that I grew up on in Mississippi. I agree with Matt, fresh pecans are delicious. I remember helping my grandfather shell and pick the meat out of pecans for my grandmother and mom to bake pecan pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas. When my mom was growing up, an apple, orange, banana, and a handful of nuts was what she would have in her stocking on Christmas morning. My mom did the same for my brother and I. I continued the tradition with my children. I would then tell my children how thankful my mom was to have had those things on Christmas. Tradition and family are important. Faith, family, and friends in that order.
Moving is not for me. I’ve done it many times growing up and in my adult life. My husband is a Pastor and we live next to our church. We’ve been blessed to be here his entire ministry of 18 years now. We’re almost 60 years old and I know we’ll not be here forever. It’s so sweet that you’re next to your home place. May the Lord bless y’all with many more years there! 😀❤️
You didn't mention Black Walnuts - I was always fond of those and the trees were rare in the area of Arkansas where I grew up, so that just made them even more desirable. Black Walnut Ice Cream made correctly is the Best!
I live on the same place my grandpa bought in the 50’s. Our neighbors had a bigger tract of land that had a pasture and creek on it. We grew up playing in the creek and pasture. A few years ago the neighbor property sold so we lost access to the creek and the pasture. I can still walk out on my porch and see the pasture but the creek is out of view. Oh how I miss those days of playing and hanging out at the creek. So many memories on that property. Really miss it.
Hey from eastern n.c. Loved being a part of yout wonderful life on your ,mountain. Love the simplicity of yourlife. Hope u dont mind that i claim yout family as my own.My family is quite small makes for more joy tagging along with u and yours.Makes for something to look forward to and not feel so lonely. Love all of u all so much. Thank you for being such a joy. Hugs
Hi Tipper & Matt! I love the beautiful scenery on the walk to the creek. All the colors of the leaves & the creek. I enjoy y'all's little talks. Y'all are such a loving couple. I know y'all are missing Miss Cindy, she was a lovely lady. I'm excited to see y'all with Katie's baby. He can go down to the creek & play in the water. God is good. I'm so thankful for this channel & I want you to know y'all bless me every time I watch. Lord willing, I will be able to visit Appalachia❤
I'm an old woman now needing a walker, but I grew up not too far from where I live next to Lake Michigan, the Grand River many bayous and creeks. When I was young I enjoyed walking along the water and seeing turtles, fish and everything that goes with those areas. This video brings back so many memories.😊
Amazing how many country setting videos everywhere have crows calling in the woods and hills. I have them here too and love to hear them . Everything so beautiful there in autumn setting .Love the forest and stream photography . Prayers on the forest fires . Best wishes and prayers for Granny . Very relaxing show as always . Many thanks .
You just don’t know how much I enjoy your talks , family & country walks . You two are amazing! Thanks so much for sharing ! Can’t say that enough - it is so relaxing. Much love & Prayers to Granny also to Katie with her little one on the way & Corie , Austin- what a wonderful family . I realize that we are not perfect but you’re family are delightful. Love & Prayers .
Wow, you are so blessed. You have a beautiful creek next to your home, and you live in the mountains. When I get to Heaven , I hope to have a river by my mansion, so I can get out walk the beautiful land. Most of all I want to see my Jesus. God bless.
Your talking about pecan trees makes me think of , my now thirty year old, when he was 4 or 5. We were at his Grandma's house under a huge pecan tree helping her gather and shell them. She was steady filling a jar and just never seemed to get it full. I noticed why. Her grandson was sneaking under her chair and eating them from the jar faster than we could fill it. 😂🥰
Beautiful, beautiful Appalachia in the Fall! As you were walking through the leaves I thought I bet that smells so good! Love you all. My home in Los Angeles has been leveled, nothing left on the acre. It is still home to my brothers and me, and I miss it.
I grew up in a big city. When I got married I moved to a suburb, where my wife grew up. I wanted her to be happy. When I drive into the city to visit my dad, I find myself driving through the laneways that I played in, growing up.❤️🇨🇦🙏
Everyday I check to see if you have made a new post. I absolutely love the two of you but, I must admit I think I love Corey and Katie just a little more. I saw that Katie planted her poppies yesterday. I hope Matt is enjoying the cooler weather and enjoying his retirement. I love all your video's and those with Corey and Katie, Continued Prayers for Granny and for all of you as well. God Bless.
I watched this video yesterday and I commented but I must have forgot to tap the send button , lol. I could just smell the leaf and creek smells, mingled together. That is one of my favorite smells. My take from the comments is you have a bunch of new viewers.😃. TeresaSue
I am ready for cold too...I took a walk in my neighborhood today and it was lovely..Just a bit chilly but felt so nice...The trees and leaves were so pretty...I am getting in Christmas mode and putting up my mini tabletop tree today.. Pretty walk down by the creek, and I agree, my walk today was refreshing...I walked a lot as a kid in the woods behind my neighborhood..Mostly barefoot in the summer...Thank God I didn't run into any snakes, etc. down there.. Can't believe its Thanksgiving in two weeks! May God give you peace and strength in missing Miss Cindy during the Holidays... Prayers and love to all...
That's it. Sense of place. We moved alot my dad was military. But we always visited family, or lived close briefly. Until I was 14. Anyway I felt that sense in WV and east tn. Always loved it. I've lived in the interstate 81 corridor from Dandridge tn up to Shenandoah valley since then . Puts me in the middle. A feeling of home in the mountains. ❤
We live on 42 acres in the middle of Illinois. You wouldn't know it wasn't Kentucky mountains if you stayed on the 42, lol. Are walks are similar to yours... leaves, creek, wildlife, and we have two ponds. We are very blessed. It is a lot of work, tho ❤
This is making me homesick for the mountains.I’m from Ky.but I have lived in Oh for about 40 years and not able to travel for the the five years.Love your lives❤
So good that Matt can now hunt more. Even though he doesn't have his 40 hr work, there's a lot of other work to do but now he can do it during the day instead of evenings & weekends. When he sits & has a popsicle in these videos is probably the longest I imagine he sits down, as he probably likes to keep busy 😃 Good also that Austin can get enough time to go hunting. I hope you get more rain as fall rain is beneficial to spring growth. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I know I'm in the good company of many other viewers who are very interested in your family. We care about & pray for Granny 🙏🏻 We look forward to Katie's baby boy come spring. We enjoy the cooking & other things you show us. God bless y'all 💖 Edit: also so enjoy all the beautiful music from Katie & Corie, also Paul's music. Nice seeing older videos of Pap playing & singing 😊
My Pap paw when he was a young boy would dam up the creek and put black walnut shells in the water and it would stun the fish and cause them to float and they would have a mess for supper, he said a cherokee indian showed him how to do that. Its a joy watching yall doing life.
Whoa! That’s wonderful I can take my family back a good number of generations, but there’s been a lot of movement/ migration in those 300+ years. And I love that, too. It’s just different as you said in the video. Not wrong… just different. 👍
Haha. I get a kick out of you two. The twins are definitely reflections of you. Strong family traits. Sending love and prayers to you all! I just can’t believe how beautiful it is there! Thanks for an inspiring video.
I love that!!! I use to live by a creek and we swam and fished!!! MY BROTHERS WHO ARE GONE NOW, 3 OF THEM, WOULD CLIMB HIGH UP IN THE TREES AND JUMP OUT!!! SCARED ME HALF TO DEATH!!! I WAS TATTLETALE SO ID GO RUNNING TO THE HOUSE SCREAMING FOR MOMMA!!!! I WAS OLDEST AND ONLY GIRL SO I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM!!! IF THEY GOT HURT AND I DIDNT RUN FOR MAMMA THEN I WAS IN TROUBLE!!!😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
I've only ever lived in four places in my 67 years. They've all been in my teeny little town of Marmet, WV. I'm still here today and at this point I figure I'll not likely move away anywhere else. It wouldn't feel like home to me anywhere else. Roots sure do run deep.
Thankyou for the updates love your channel and I just received your cookbook in the mail today ❤ can’t wait to cook out of it. God bless you and keep you!!
The creek is pretty in the fall. Funny how little things remind us of things we use to do growing up. All 5 of us kids were able to get together at my Dad's last Saturday to go through some things. We came across some of our toys and found 2 of my Dad's mowing Scythes and my grandpa's sickle. I remember my dad mowing the bank. My mom said my grandpa used the sickle to mow grass for his animals. You all are gonna be great grandparents. Yall have a blessed night.
Some of our neighbors used to watch us kids in the neighborhood grow up. Know I watch them walking around the neighborhood to make sure they are okay. It’s pretty cool
It’s crazy how fast that water is running through the creek even though it’s not raining hard. I always have loved to see a man or a woman able to relax and enjoy themselves and not worry about work. I love the smells of fall….the leaves, firewood burning, leaves burning etc. I get melancholy this time of year . Like seeing you and Matt walking together in the woods, going to the creek. That’s something like my late husband and I would do together. He died of brain cancer four years ago. But thank God I have our three sons and their families. We have six grandchildren. That’s what I give thanks for day after day. Plus I have my memories. You and Matt remind me a lot of us. He hunted and I went sometimes with him. I guess I’ve missed some videos bc I didn’t know that Katie is expecting! Congratulations and God bless.
ha ha ha "We're too old to be planting trees" lolol "Screeching like a Baptist Preacher" lololol LOVE both of your senses of humor. Keeps me coming back here.
What a great place to live to just be able to walk into the woods. I have moved quite a bit in my life and feel it has been an education and I am happy for that but the idea of living in the same place has a real appeal to me also. I am just happy with what I have been blessed with. Always enjoy that you share your life with us all.
Beautiful fall view, and I love to hear the leaves crunching under foot!!! Thanks for taking us on your walk to the creek. Great chat time, always interesting conversation🙂My Kentucky roots run deep....no place else I'd rather be!!
Congrats on the deer harvest Matt! It finally rained....misted...for a couple days where I live. Won't hurt my feelings if it rained like that for a week or so!
We had a real gully washer yesterday and it was supposed to get real cold. I would love to take another walk in the woods to see all that God has given us to admire.
I do love the sound of the creek. It’s beautiful in your woods no matter the season. Thank you for the walk. I love to sit outside. We spend a lot of time outside. I agree being outside is good for you and I love my grands playing outside....Happy Hunting Matt!
Sense of home is something I’ve missed for many, many years. Everyone has passed on now and it’s only me. I’m ready to be with their spirits. Take care❤
i really like matt's take on things . wish he would talk about learning from his dad on being a man and his own personal beliefs . he;s mountain and i;m flat land , but we seem to agree . i;m 73 73 with 2 children and 5 grandchildren --- been blessed !

Yes... and more animated, too.😅
He's really funny as well. I belive if he had his own channel he'd be a hoot!!
Thank you 😀
Agreed
Everybody I know that retired looks 10 years younger!
I hate wishing my life away but I want to see how much Matt is gonna be wrapped around Katie's baby's finger.❤️
I had the same thought. He'd mentioned before that he would have liked to have had more children, but I think this grandbaby will more than make up for it!!
Not many people can say,”We’re going to amble off the goat bluff and go see what’s going on at the creek.” ❤ the simpler life.
I’m so glad Matt is retired and free to do more of what he enjoys. Retirement is the best job I’ve ever had!
I have used Miss Cindy's Ham recipe for the last 3 hams I have baked, and they were perfect doing it the way she did hers. I don't believe there's a warmer fire than a woodstove. Warm you right to the bone. Thanks for sharing Tipper and Matt.
Nothing like a wood stove.I remember when I was young dad would build fires.such sweet memories ❤❤😊

Wow I'm first! Been just waiting for Tipper & Matt. Just Love y'all the entire family. ❤
Thank you!! 😀
My son got a 14 point deer Saturday. He had it ground and made sausage. His daughter brought us a couple pieces and it was the best sausage I have ever ate.
Wonderful!
I'm glad you put family first and stopped the video to visit. Have a great week.
Your roots sure do go deep. I’m looking forward to meeting you new addition to the family too. So excited for you all. ❤️🇨🇦
The woods are so peaceful when the leaves are crunchy 🥰
My hometown Sioux Falls (SD), and the (eponymous) falls there give me that feeling of 'home'. Old pictures exist of those falls, Victorian ladies/gentlemen standing amidst those ancient formations. One can look at such old images on a cell phone! and glance up to find the precise spot! Y'all know that deep, rich, bittersweet mixture of feeling. Reminds us that we are mortal and this life goes quickly! Thank you Tipper and Matt! 🙌🏼 💞
I love the smell of rich pine burning. It brings back memories.

The sounds in this video! The crunching leaves beneath your feet, the rushing stream and the cawing birds. Just beautiful! 😊
You didn't mention Black Walnuts - I was always fond of those and the trees were rare in the area of Arkansas where
I grew up, so that just made them even more desirable.
Beautiful scenery! Thank you and Matt for taking us on a walk. The creek sounds are so relaxing.

Nice relaxing and beautiful video Tipper!
Your videos are always like a balm. So nice, so comforting, so peaceful. Thank you :)
Thankyou for the updates love your channel and I just received your cookbook in the mail today ❤ can’t wait to cook out of it. God bless you and keep you!!
Hope you like it!
Absolutely Breathtaking!!!Autumn Leaves 🍁 🍁🍁🦉🌊 so relaxing ✨💫🌧
The creek is pretty in the fall. Funny how little things remind us of things we use to do growing up. All 5 of us kids were able to get together at my Dad's last Saturday to go through some things. We came across some of our toys and found 2 of my Dad's mowing Scythes and my grandpa's sickle. I remember my dad mowing the bank. My mom said my grandpa used the sickle to mow grass for his animals. You all are gonna be great grandparents. Yall have a blessed night.
Love that you found the things together 😀
I’m sorry you lost him. I’m so glad you enjoy our videos!
ha ha ha "We're too old to be planting trees" lolol "Screeching like a Baptist Preacher" lololol LOVE both of your senses of humor. Keeps me coming back here.
😂😂😂❤
What a great place to live to just be able to walk into the woods. I have moved quite a bit in my life and feel it has been an education and I am happy for that but the idea of living in the same place has a real appeal to me also. I am just happy with what I have been blessed with. Always enjoy that you share your life with us all.
Beautiful fall view, and I love to hear the leaves crunching under foot!!! Thanks for taking us on your walk to the creek. Great chat time, always interesting conversation🙂My Kentucky roots run deep....no place else I'd rather be!!
The sound of that water is so relaxing
Take care❤
What did Matt do at the college? We watch y'all every time yall come on.
Thank you 😊 he worked in maintenance
i really like matt's take on things . wish he would talk about learning from his dad on being a man and his own personal beliefs . he;s mountain and i;m flat land , but we seem to agree . i;m 73 73 with 2 children and 5 grandchildren --- been blessed !
Man makes his plan but God directs his steps 🥰
