Beloved brother @AriebAzhar, I congratulate you for having the vision to educate plebeians like me about music from the current Pakistan. Your narration from Master TanSen to Bilawal Belgium is exceptional. Your erudition of and sensitivity to the large variety of musical genres is beautiful, to say the least. I’m grateful to you for this “vlog”, and am looking forward to learning more from you. BTW: the last I remember of your beautiful and illustrious dad was when him and my beloved friend, Amar Jaleel, who was then VC of the Open University in Islamabad, took me around to show me what they were referring as “Jabra (jaw) Chouk” (burial place of the brutal dictator ZiaulHaque. I couldn’t stop laughing when they related the story to me…lots of love and respect for you brother.

Iqbal Bano aur Malika Pukhraj ka khaas zikr zaroori hey. Besides, you certainly mentioned our Sufi music but we also need to know more about qawwali as a distinct genre of Pakistani music scene.

Amazing work.. just a minor correction.. harmonium was banned due to it's inability to produce ornaments and Shruthis.. not because of its origin.
