The Mercenaries is such a fun mode in the RE4 Remake! I'm happy to have unlocked the Handcannon through this mode so my subsequent playthroughs go a lot smoother with infinite ammo! Thanks so much for watching and liking everyone! 💙
Hey dude can I ask you a favor can you ask will resident evil central when will the herb and pistol ammo charm and gold case will be purchasable on the Xbox store
You can find many tokens as treasures during the game, even more if you have the extended treasure Map which you can buy from the DLC pack. And if you have many spinels to use, you can buy how many gold tokens from the merchant as you want.
I felt like this time around, the Handcannon's requirements were really high. If it were for the PRL, I'd understand because that's the super weapon that wrecks everything. So to unlock it through mercenaries mode is welcome.
Totally agree, I got it from mercenaries and after upgrading it to the max, I can say that it was a very disappointing weapon... The accuracy is pretty bad and the rate of fire is really worrying, so I'm glad I got it from mercenaries and not go through the whole game in Profesional, cause the weapon is not that great.
I found Krauser super easy to avoid being over whelmed with. Seemed like he had super armor during his knife attacks that hit almost all the way around him, meaning the only thing I really needed to worry about was chainsaws, which went really a worry since I could instantly kill them with mayhem mode
The hand Cannon is fine with being able t unlock it like this. Honestly with it's performance the PLR laser should be the pro mode reward vs the hand Cannon

I would have liked different rewards but other people being able to get it this route doesn't take away from my experience. Also, the gun is doodoo. Now if I was able to play the game as these characters in the campaign. That would have been dope!
Why? If they don’t wanna buy it, they don’t have too. Unlock everything by beating the game to death. Why do people criticize people who have more money than time?
@@phillandall3159 it’s because traditionally in video games, unlocks are a way of showing the players’ accomplishments. They’re basically trophies that are earned and need to be worked for. @@ayyachris Nah the enemies are fine assuming you're not coming fresh off assisted or standard mode, the really cheap part is the "no auto-save, if you die you go back 25+ minutes :)"
I would argue that the Handcannon is easy to get in the main campaign. YES, you cannot use bonus weapons and need to do it on a new game, not NG+. BUT, your rank doesn't matter. You just need to beat it on Professional with those simple conditions. You're allowed to take your time, collect all the upgrades, do all the side quests, upgrade all your weapons and the like as you make your way through the game. It's actually quite simple. Yes, unlocking the Chicago Sweeper is easier, since you can do it with an Infinite Rocket Launcher on NG+ and only need an A rank, not S or S+. The Cat Ears is harder for many, since you need that S+ from only doing a new game and even with using bonus weapons, since you don't start with anything, you still need to make sure you play optimally enough to get your spinels by chapter 7 to have that infinite ammo perk. Though, even without using glitches, if you follow a guide, you can beat it in 4.5hrs quite easily for even the most average of players (meaning there's an extra hour of leeway if you're bad too). Using glitches and the like, you can shave up to 2 more hours on that (though completing it in 2.5hrs is out of reach for most since you need to play pretty perfectly and know EXACTLY what you're doing....).
I completed a hardcore run with the handcannon last night and it is pretty solid for most encounters, but I feel like the unlimited ammo on the Chicago Sweeper might be slightly easier. If you bought one of those tickets, I think it might be better to use it on the Chicago Sweeper from the start and then unlock one with spinels mid-game for the handcannon.
I practiced the full first week and then did 2 NG+ Playthrough and finally took 3 days to finish the Game with a S+ on professional. It doesn't bother me at all I love beating the game with full infinite ammo it don't bother me others having quick access to the Handcannon and shit. I suck at almost every other game other the resident evil and have to buy the DLC's
@@thirteen8582 Right? It was more of a personal challenge to figure out I can do it then bragging rights. I know RE 8 I bought the full DLC pack. I beat Madhouse on 7 an unlocked the infinite ammo but 8 I just was terrible at for a long time for some reason lol!
@@BigSparky1316 I didn't even played 8 since I'm not the biggest fan of Ethan lol. But yeah getting a S+ was also a personal challenge for me as well because I'm an achievement collector. I need to get all the trophies on all the games I play.

I was stressed trying to beat Professional with S+ rank, and when I did it, few hours later the exclusive ticket dlc came with Mercenaries Mode... (I struggled in the Village section just to have enough spinel to buy an exclusive ticket for Chicago)
Some people love the grind. I don't. I still respect anyone that went thru the trouble of unlocking everything "legit" but I shamelessly got myself one of those upgrade tickets and I'm having fun with the handcannon now on my 2nd playthrough, no struggle needed 😅
@ChazUBCS you can only get infinite ammo first playthrough through the handcannon but mercenaries recommends you finish the game before playing anyone using infinite ammo first playthrough wanted to
The handcannon reward is ok, since is not as op as it used to be back to the days of the original re4, so another way to obtain the nerfcannon is ok by me
What you talking about its still OP just landing the shots taking a little skill to do imo overall best addition to the game to make it easier for everyone since Pro mode is utterly broken with its mechanics it will help anyone unlock end game content at much easier pace

It'd be so easy to come up with great rewards for mercenaries too ! Just let us play the campaign as Hunk/Krauser/Luis or even Leon with the ultimate ability bar to spice up regular gameplay !
Getting the prl in the previous game on professional felt earned and worth it. With these newer remakes they want you to speed run with very few saves. Not everyone loves to speed run games. Locking these bonuses behind such a strict difficulty is no longer fun and I don’t feel bad buying these extra things to break the games. Had they actually did a good job balancing rewards/requirements I would actually wanna try
If you want to get the good bonuses, then you need to earn it. There is a reason why some of these rewards are behind "strict" difficulty requirements. It incentivizes you to perfect your gameplay so you can earn it. Unlocking the PRL was too easy to obtain for such a ludicrous weapon. This pay to win bs needs to f off out of video games. Even if it doesn't "break" the game, its sending a bad message and encouraging anti consumer behaviour. Players should be encouraged to get better to obtain cool bonuses, not f'ing pay for it especially for a SINGLE PLAYER game. The game itself is fantastic but this kind of tactic dishonors the original.
Funny I just completed both my professional runs right before this came out a nice way for others to enjoy the game even though professional made me have ptsd from ch15 😂
I'm already halfway through the new game professional run, so I'm just going to finish it for the challenge and handcannon. After getting past the cabin it just seems like I got past the hard part already. Also ran the castle wall section twice because I can't remember to manually save and Ashley wanted to run into my tmp in the maze.
I'm 50 and just don't have the skills to accomplish some task in games so getting the hand cannon in mercenaries was to me an accomplishment. If you get everything and you did it the hard way be proud. yourself
When I was kid I had so much free time to play video games now days I barely have time to sleep LOL so is very appreciated the fact that I can buy certain stuff without having to grind
I wanted to unlock krausers bow to use in the story i just can't believe the only thing we unlock is the handcannon i would have liked the RE5 unlock method infinite ammo for different guns skins to use in story more weapons to unlock they did not think this mode through.
I love playing games but I have really bad arthritis in my hands which means that a lot of the harder difficulties I just can't play. No matter what for people like me being able to have access to the stuff that I normally would never be able to have access to because of my arthritis in my hands is a nice thing however I don't disregard that people are capable of doing it without and I applaud these people for their skill and devotion to do it the hard way but that's physically impossible for me to
I don’t see this as an issue at all. Handcannon being made easier to obtain or the microtransactions. If people want to break THEIR single player game I say go for it! If you are struggling on Professional or an S+ run I see this as just a… helping hand I guess. And we did get mercenaries for free. A lot of other companies/publishers would’ve charged for that feature so Capcom are still great in my books! 10/10 Remake
Given how brutal Professional is and the insane requirements to unlock some things I don't blame people for paying to get that stuff. I mean to get S+ rank on Professional you need to beat the game in 5 hours, on a new save file without using bonus weapons. That's not a challenge, that's an exercise in masochism and I can't see any fun in that.
buy it all..I'm one of those guys lol...I have almost zero time to play these days but I love Resident evil franchise. just blowing shit up helps brighten my day
Enjoy the easy way to earn the hand cannon people. Earning that thing was annoying as hell normally. Had to get the cat ears first to attempt for the hand cannon.
I'm fine with this. Yes, it helps things become "easier" but the professional mode in this game seems a bit harder than the OG. The hand cannon is also not the the most damage magnum. The broken butterfly is. They are both garbage. Killer 7 is where it's at. I Just finished a run with the Blacktail doing: no healing, no merchant, nothing but pistols and knives. Without using the primal knife. On assisted. That was tough for me. At the end, I had no health, a few boot knives and a good amount of ammo for the handgun. Really the toughest part was the no healing at all coupled with only pistols and knives. But hey, it was a fun challenge. (For me)
As someone who did this last night: couple notes: to unlock the extra characters you need at least a rating with each character on any map to get the others. As for the hand Cannon: s rank all three maps, any character, but you need 1000cp to unlock the cannon from the merchant, then need a ticket to unlock unlimited ammo
I literally jumped on re4 last night for 30 minutes to get the hand cannon before they change the unlock requirement. I work 12 hour shifts and normally don’t play on nights I have to work the next day… shit is way too easy to get but can’t pass it up lol
I hope they update the Mercenaries mode to reward more items, costumes, characters etc. I was really hoping for a new Rewards screen and unlocking Wesker or Ada for getting A on Hunk. They could’ve given us a new weapon instead of an existing weapon.
As it’s a single player story based game, folk can spend their money to speed empowering weapons if they want to. If it was multiplayer, that’d be a whole different discussion
There's functionally no difference between "cheesing" the upgrade early with this and playing through Pro S+ and watching a guide that gives you exact routes and strategies to finish Pro S+. Both give players an edge over having to figure out everything themselves, but both still require execution from the player.
If they wanna add micro transaction they couldve given us the all in game rewards lime they did with the previous resident evil games especially cause to unlock everything is kinda stressful and difficult
Hi guys, I'm a mo cap performer and wanted to share a painful story of mine about these REmakes. In late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the motion capture role of Leon for RE 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part...☹ Now many years later, when I see how successful those remakes are I can't believe I wasted such an opportunity. In this business one audition can change your entire life. PS. Great video! You got some skill. I have Mercenaries on 3ds and it's pretty cool too.

Some people just have a hard on for having games be ball busting hard for no reason. They don't seem to get alot of people don't have the time to sit and play hours up on hours. Like I may get lucky and be able to play for an hour and a half uninterrupted once a week
I fucking love RE4 and I 100% the original. Now that I’m older I don’t have so much time like I did when I was in my teens. The micro transactions are a big help for me to enjoy the games bonus weapons. But it does feel like going to the dark side.
@@Krosstic I won't get mad on people for buying it. But I understand the hate for that feature. Being able to pay for items that are supposed to be challenges kind defeats... The challenge. And that marketing method is horrible, it's just sad that games are being sold that way. Buy it if you want, but keep in mind that you are encouraging those abusive methods, not that it matters too much at the end. I know everybody have their own types of fun, but think with me for a minute, If u aren't enjoying the game enough to try harder challenges, why would you pay for the rewards? You have all the time in the world to try it and get it. and the rewards are like, just 5 minutes of fun. Try to play a game to enjoy it, ignore the rewards.
I think being able to get the hancannon through mercenaries is a more fair reward for that level of challenge, although you probably should have to do a bit more in that game to unlock it unless they plan to add more rewards for that once all the characters are out. The PRL should have been the pro mode reward because of how hard it is to get. I really don't like the exclusive upgrade micro transactions, though, it completeley ruins the pace of the game if you can just start the game and have all your weapons basically fully upgraded, at the the 30 spinel method was balanced because you had to wait until at least the castle before you could get one of them
But what's the actual difference between the tickets? Like there's a few single tickets but it doesn't say the difference between them? Like is there one that upgrades everything on the weapon or something?
2:38 I didn't need this I completed leon 1st run on hardcore and got the rocket launcher. It was no easy task though. I could then play Claire's 1st run to get the minigun, but I'm okay with the rocket launcher.
I don’t like buying the instant collectibles thing, because I love challenges and to me, buying that takes away the fun of feeling like you worked hard to earned it
Yes, it sucks when you work hard for an achievement that is now pay to win, that's literally the point of those challenges. Imagine you could pay to have your plats, or imagine you could pay to finish the game.
@@qrow5563 I was just talking about if I were to buy it what I would feel like after, I’m ok with other people buying it because that’s their choice and I can’t change that or force them to do what I want them to do, especially if they just started the game and just want to enjoy it
Wrong info. There is Merchant after Leon jumps out of the hunting lodge [1st building in the game], you just need to turn around. You can use ticket there and have inf ammo all the time.
Can't even buy the tickets to begin with. On my Series X when ever I type resident evil and go to add ons I immediately get an error. Anyone else having this issue?
I'm indifferent about the whole thing. I'm someone who definitely loves the extra challenge and to be rewarded with all of this fun stuff feels amazing. It feels like all the hard work and hundreds of hours I poured in the game was somewhat worth it. To then allow that same reward to be obtained through a much easier task or be bought outright, it stings. It really does. However, me being at 24 now, I'm certainly not the kid I used to be. As much as I love challenges, I don't have that time to invest in something like that anymore. I'm glad to still have these options where if I literally can't find that time to unlock stuff, I don't have to feel left out. Although, me being me, I never will buy anything like that and I wouldn't substitute the easier task to unlock the weapon. I'd feel to ashamed in myself.
Don't feel bad. Play the game on your own pace. You don't need to unlock everything to fit in. The challenges may be hard, but you have all the time in the world to finish it. For me It's better, since that's the point of the challenges after all. I couldn't buy these tickets because I personally don't agree with these practices
@@woodsy4698 Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to "fit in." I just prefer the challenge more than cheating it out, but I do understand why people would take the easy way out.
I agree on both sides of it. I really dont think of it as a competition with anyone. There is no right or wrong way to play the game,as long as you enjoy it. Video ganes are like efucation...everyone plats and learns at different levels. If it makes you feel good to buy advantages, tgen by all means do it.If it makes you feel good earning the same advantages, then do it. Nobody is keeping score in the long run. Just my opinion....
The funny thing is that the merchant is right behind the first house you escape from. He's pretty hidden as the game points you in the direction where you need to go. All you have to do is turn around.
I was kind of on the fence when I first heard about this, but it's turns out it's not bad. It's pretty clear when you bought the ticket so it's not office gated by predatory practices. For example, imagine if you only unlock one weapon at a time through professional mode. Honestly I probably more upset if the silver and gold coins had a price tag. It's definitely an interesting situation because imagine if you bought a book and each chapter was in a different language. There's some people who don't have the skills to play through the whole game right away. So with some assistance (that they're willing to pay for) they can at least play it their way until they want to challenge themselves. And as far as I know, the sequence breaking exploits in the game are still accessible so nothing has been taken away as of yet. So yes, I still consider this a quality game. That being said it's important to keep our eyes open in case they want to slip something else through the cracks or take advantage while our guard is down.
People are looking at this all wrong. If you got it through S+ Pro runs then that badass achievement is still yours. If you got it through Mercs, maybe now you will try pro, I have 3 friends who were moving on to other games but once I told them they could unlock the Handcannon through mercs they all jumped on, and are now trying out Pro difficulty. This should not be about elitists being robbed, they still have their perfect run. This should be about the game's community and the fact that they give us a choice and let us have fun.
I would understand why ppl are upset about the easy unlock on the hand canon, but the run to unlock it isn’t hard. Just time consuming. But after having 16 runs, it literally is not hard.
I never understood why people get upset about offers/glitches/exploits/etc in non competitive games (borderlands, any RE, etc). Games like this people just want to get on and smash npcs. There are those who like the challenge of harder modes and more power to then, but if people want to shell out a few extra bucks to live life on easy street while escaping reality all while hurting no one or getting an unfair advantage or competitive edge. Play games the way they were meant to be played, for fun and entertainment.
I have a question about the tickets, if you use them in one play through. And you beat the game and complete that specific play through.. can you reuse these tickets??
So if you end up doing a new play through on NG+ then no because you know it’s NG+ and weapons will keep their upgrades. But if you’re gonna do an actual NG not to be confused with (NG+) then yes you will get it again in your NG play through.
The Handcannon is the literal only reward for Mercenaries. People whining need to re-evaluate their life, maybe go outside touch grass, talk to an actual woman.
the tickets bother me just cus I did the s+ pro run before this update and I feel like it takes away from the whole point of a challenge, I guess its just me but kinda annoying
The only thing I don’t like about this game at all is that they didn’t allow you to play with Ada period in either mercenary or separate ways have supervise available. I’m hoping it becomes DLC later on.
So imma give my share this isn’t a multiplayer game so why do you give a fuck about what someone else is doing. I’m just saying in general in my play through idgaf if someone else did it faster slower unlocked more etc it’s still my own game. Idk why people will cry over this
It is this mentality that is giving studios the go ahead to hide more and more content behind paywalls. This is a test run. People who are standing against microtransactions are advocating for studios to treat gamers including you better. Oh just an fyi, you do not own that game, you haven't owned many games in quite some time. You purchased a license to play it as long as Capcom sees fit. The Eula gives them the right to revoke access at anytime. Another instance of garbage born from this kind of thinking.
Tbh. It doesn’t bother me with the tickets and anything. I don’t think it will impact others gameplay even tho you buy the tickets and get the handcanon through the mercenaries. It shouldn’t really affect people that don’t want to buy it. You can still play it without paying on anything if you enjoy grinding. But in my opinion. People buying the tickets shouldn’t bother anytime. It’s a single player game. Play how you feel like :)
Exactly. It's not like an online game where people can pay for better gear or early access and it actually puts you at a disadvantage. It legit just lets them play the game how they want. And frankly one thing I like about re4 original and remake is just blasting through without a care in the world. If I want to challenge myself I can make the game as easy or as hard as I want
Exactly my thoughts! I'm on my second run right now which is a knife and pistol only and don't talk to the merchant run. I think after that run I'll try to unlock the Handcannon in the mercenaries mode and give the professional mode a chance 😁
Look I see it this way: if you buy stuff with money to unlock in the game, people shouldn’t be mad at you. I’m working for it too, just like everyone else, but I’m doing it at work not in the game. I still haven’t beat the pro mode on OG RE4 yet and I’ve been chipping away at it for almost a year, doing the new unlock requirements is gonna be a pain to me, if I can use money I’ve earned in the real world to help expedite things that should be okay. It really only matters if you’re playing a multiplayer game anyways. Also, I promise I’m not bad at the game but it’s tough finding the time when you work full time

Yeah but if u dont have the tickets the chicago is around 610-660k ptas and the handcannon is 560k
Same bro, I don't care what others do. I got S+ on professional for my own amusement.

Imagine how good mercenaries could be if they added as many characters as Re5 mercenaries had.
Funny I just completed both my professional runs right before this came out a nice way for others to enjoy the game even though professional made me have ptsd from ch15 😂

I got S rank on all the mercenaries with Hunk it's so easy I wasn't even trying but One ticket and now I have the most powerful weapon In the game
Might just be me but I loved the two player (duo) mercenaries mode on re5
So did I. I mean sure it was super actions heavy but it had it’s charm.
Mercenaries was easily RE5's and RE6's highlights
I'll gladly fork over money to unlock all the cool stuff. I'm not doing a bunch of time trial, hair pulling difficulty runs.
its actually not that bad fr
No the no bonus weapons is only specifically for the handcanon..you can still get S+ while using bonus weapons
Especially when on the harder difficulties enemies are damage sponges and you have way less ammo so it turns into just running away half the game
You can use bonus weapons to get S+...... its expected that your using them
buy it all..I'm one of those guys lol...I have almost zero time to play these days but I love Resident evil franchise. just blowing shit up helps brighten my day
Enjoy the easy way to earn the hand cannon people.
The Mercenaries requires a different set of skills, some play the campaign and struggle yet will be better at the more action based Mercenaries.
The Handcannon is not the gun it was in the original game
Not at all, I wish we could slap a laser on it in this game
@@PrestigeisKey best I can do is the worst crosshair in the game take it or leave it.
Its a single player game 🤷🏻♀️
Is it one time use or one time per playthrough
once per playthrough, though NG+ does not grant a new one
So if you buy a ticket can use it on the Chicago sweeper/Handcannon on New game save and don’t have to work for the 30 spinels.
There's functionally no difference between "cheesing" the upgrade early with this and playing through Pro S+ and watching a guide that gives you exact routes and strategies to finish Pro S+. Both give players an edge over having to figure out everything themselves, but both still require execution from the player.
Yo it be funny if they added the merchant as the last playable mercenaries character
The thing is, this is pretty much how you got the Handcannon from RE 4 anyways. So this is just a callback.

Now many years later, when I see how successful those remakes are I can't believe I wasted such an opportunity.

PS. Great video! You got some skill. I have Mercenaries on 3ds and it's pretty cool too.

I fucking love RE4 and I 100% the original. Now that I’m older I don’t have so much time like I did when I was in my teens. The micro transactions are a big help for me to enjoy the games bonus weapons. But it does feel like going to the dark side.
People really do be trying to tell you not to spend your own money on shit for a single player game.
Man, i honestly would've loved to unlock Krauser's Explosive Bow (or his Outfit) as some Mercenaries Unlocks.
They could have given the OG unlockers a Gold Handcannon and the Mercenaries unlockers a silver one, or whatever color distinguish.
2:38 I didn't need this I completed leon 1st run on hardcore and got the rocket launcher. It was no easy task though. I could then play Claire's 1st run to get the minigun, but I'm okay with the rocket launcher.
What is the difference between Tickets type A and B ??
and should we play with all of characters to get handcannon?
Do you use the ticket only once? I mean for each level
So is re 4 remake p2w now? since you can buy exclusive tickets buy spending money?
I don’t like buying the instant collectibles thing, because I love challenges and to me, buying that takes away the fun of feeling like you worked hard to earned it
Does it tho ? If you don’t buy it and someone else does in a single player game it literally has no effect on you or your achievements
Yes, it sucks when you work hard for an achievement that is now pay to win, that's literally the point of those challenges.
Imagine you could pay to have your plats, or imagine you could pay to finish the game.
@@qrow5563 I was just talking about if I were to buy it what I would feel like after, I’m ok with other people buying it because that’s their choice and I can’t change that or force them to do what I want them to do, especially if they just started the game and just want to enjoy it
Is the exclusive ticket you buy just a one time thing or can you use it every one playthrough?
Wait so you can unlock the hand cannon with mercenaries or just by playing/finishing pro mode ?
What’s the difference on exclusive tickets a , b or c ?
Wrong info. There is Merchant after Leon jumps out of the hunting lodge [1st building in the game], you just need to turn around. You can use ticket there and have inf ammo all the time.
only there on new game plus
Ok lets say I have tickets what should I use them on?
Does the ticket work once in total, or once per new fresh playthrough?
While it’s nice to have another route to the hc… I’ll still have to play and complete the harder difficulties to unlock all cheevos
I was expecting to pay $5 to get the hand cannon knowing capcom. 😂
The funny thing is that the merchant is right behind the first house you escape from. He's pretty hidden as the game points you in the direction where you need to go. All you have to do is turn around.
Only in Newgame+
@@TheAverageGamer6 Oh, because I turned around and was like "Was he here before and I didn't notice him."
There was a thing called CHEAT CODES back in the day. Now you have to pay for it
Sorry I think I sounded too rude
Are the dlc tickets permanent?
the PRL would be a great reward for beating the seperate ways DLC on professional imo
I don't think the tickets are microtransactions because when you buy them they're always there on every save file.
The Handcannon is the literal only reward for Mercenaries. People whining need to re-evaluate their life, maybe go outside touch grass, talk to an actual woman.
Lol 😂
This mercs mode is worse than the og version in some regards. RE5 will always be the best Mercs

the tickets bother me just cus I did the s+ pro run before this update and I feel like it takes away from the whole point of a challenge, I guess its just me but kinda annoying
It's depressing actually
The only thing I don’t like about this game at all is that they didn’t allow you to play with Ada period in either mercenary or separate ways have supervise available. I’m hoping it becomes DLC later on.
I wonder can we buy the tickets upgrade weapon and unlock cat ears, I wonder if that work?
I mean it sounds like youre crying though. Haven’t seen anyone cry but rejoice this new purchasable cheese ticket.
Nah, instead of fixing Pro mode, they go and do this. Use your head.
Nah, it’s people who got achievements legit
Is the handcannon unlocked by S rank Leon on all 3 maps or S rank every character on all 3 maps? Wasn't clarified in the video
Just S rank all three maps, character doesn't matter
