Good show. I’m critical of Rivka being overly critical of Douglas, but I also get it. I thought she had some good takes on this show and I mostly agree with what she had to say. I was so happy to hear a couple things that Robbie had to say. I thought I was going crazy and the only Jet fan on the planet that thinks Douglas has done an outstanding job to this point. I’m still struggling to understand why this fan base would want him fired aside from the shallow “his record sucks.” I’m totally with Sabo, that’s so incredibly obvious the main problem is offensive coaching and past QB talent. Although the best argument to criticism for Douglas is that he hired the coaching staff lol. That’s fair. But you can’t say this roster is stacked or one of the best 5 in the NfL and simultaneously say our GM sucks. Doesn’t add up. I also thought I was the only fan that thought it was stupid to get rid of Lefluer. I thought he was going to grow into an incredible coordinator. Already was good in my eyes but had nothing to work with for a QB. Lastly, I love how he brought up the point about would you take Hackett again knowing you’ll get Rogers. Anyone saying this is even a question is delusional and this season will show how dumb of a take that is. People are forgetting how good he is/pretending like he isn’t going to be good anymore due to his age. Buckle up, it’s going to be fun finally.
I remember thinking that when Green Bay was eliminated from the playoffs, the writing was on the wall for Rodgers to be a Jet. Evaluating the full landscape at the time, Rodgers was gone from GB, and the Jets were the only team that had the cap space, personnel, and structure to entice Rodgers while also being the most palatable landing spot for Green Bay to send him when considering that they needed his consent. Also, I think the turf thing is not overblown at all. I think it gets less scrutiny than it should, considering what the true cost of injuries are to the players, teams, fans, and the league. The playing surface and the injuries that occur on it get the most attention, but maybe more important is the subsurface and the stress that it puts on joints, ligaments, and tendons and how those stressors compound over time. Major injuries are typically born of minor strains and weaknesses that players play through without note. A knee weakened playing on turf in week 3 can manifest as an ACL in week 5. The raw injury data when factoring Jets and Giants players and measuring against the league average is way too difficult to ignore. They won’t do anything about it, but they shouldn’t be let off the hook either.
Exactly if it were only the fans it’d be another thing. But so many players have spoke against that’s the only reason it has any legs at all, Bak being the most obvious and he’s loud against it
Am I the only one who has no memory of every thinking that the offensive line was "in pretty good shape" going into the draft last year? AVT was back. We picked up Tippman. But at tackle, everyone was holding their breath.
JD has done a great job! It’s so lazy to say otherwise. Every pick we were onboard with and McDonald will show his true self this year and beyond. You can’t predict how dudes will react to the pros. In JD I trust. Coach is a slightly different story. But even with him, he’s been handed a tough hand.
@@teaguymark6654 I don't know how you can say he's done a good job. At best we're set up to make our first playoff run in five years, and we're not built for future success after this year at all. Practically everyone on our offense is old and/or injury prone and only has 1-2 years left on their contracts. Good teams make the playoffs every other year or more. How is this good?
Anyone who says JD has done a great job or in JD we trust should be seriously checked for brain malfunction. There is nobody worse at their job than Douglas. A 26-57 record! Let that sink in!’n. That’s a 32 percent winning percentage. The Jets compete with 15 other teams where 7 make the playoffs. The jets own the record in all major sports of missing the post season. Douglas came here to fix the OL and QB. He’s done neither. Zach Wilson may go down at the worst pick ever. His free agent signing are equally as bad as his draft picks. What the hell is wrong with this fan base!!!!!
@@RealisticJetsFan JD can’t predict A-Rods injury and 98% wanted Zach. The Sauce class was in the best in Jets history. I’ll give you that his first draft wasn’t great!

You CAN'T get a 2nd rounder for trading back 5 spots. The Colts are at #15. #10 is worth 1300 and #15 is worth 1050, so a 250 pt difference. 250 pts is only an early 3rd round pick. They could give us their 3rd, 4th and 6th, but that doesn't;t get us a 2nd, but it does give us more ammo to get one. Seattle holds #16. At 1000 pts it's an even 300 pt difference. Problem is, Seattle doesn't have a 2nd round pick. Things start getting interesting at #17, Jacksonville. That's a 350 pt difference. Jacksonville's 2nd is worth 420. If we gave them our 4th rounder at #111 that would balance out. My question is, who would Jax be trading up for? Is Fashanu or Fuaga so much better than Mims or Gutyon that you'd want to give up a 2nd rounder to get them? Maybe. At #18 is Cincy. This is where the numbers really start to line up. A 400 pt difference and their 2nd rounder at #49 is worth 410. We could throw in a 6th to get it done. At #19 is the Rams. 425 pts mean we'd get their 2nd at #52 plus a 5th and two 6ths. That's starting to really give us the ammunition to move around the board. Pittsburgh is at #20. They would have to give us their 2nd at #51 plus thereto 4th at #119. We could probably get them to throw in a 6th. Miami is at #21 and I don't see us doing business with them. Philly is at #22 and they have two 2nd round picks so they might be more willing to let one go. They would have to give us either the rest of their 5 picks in rounds 4-6, or their 4th rounder and a 3rd next year. Minnesota is at #23. I don't see ideal here. they are already at #11. They could use #23 to move into the top 3 or 4 to get their QB. They don't need #10. Dallas is at #24. They have 3 picks in the top 87, but then their next pick isn't until #176. They would have to give us all 3 of those top picks plus a 3rd next year. I can't see it. We're at the point where I wouldn't really want to go down any further. It looks to me like 18-22 is our sweet spot.

There is no perfect GM in this league, JD did a more good than bad. Every team goes through this, its not a perfect science. Let's ask ourselves Jet fans, what GM had we ever had thats better than JD?
Garrett Wilson's low catch rate on contested passes, could that be because he's only 190lbs, nope, its Zach Wilson's fault. Joe D's drafting of Will McDonald could be a bad pick because of his age and lack of weight, nope its Zach Wilson fault for not providing enough leads. Will McDonald looks like a bust, could it be he only played well against 19yo in college when he was 23, nope once again its Zach Wilson. Actually, Will McDonald doesn't LOOK like a bust, because if you happen to BLINK, then you won't even see him on his minimal snap counts. So we are going to rely on a 40yo QB with an Achilles tear, with the new backup QB being the most injury prone backup QB available, and our newly signed OL ( looks good for now ) will still be coached by Keith Carter, and our OL continually has 3 linemen blocking 1 defender, and allowing 2 defenders to come thru untouched.
