Instagram- AdamTheWooATW Into the bowels on the tar pits ! The new layout of the museum is nice . Thought I'd would just be one section or room but in fact they adjusted and changed around a bunch of stuff
A few years ago I was on the other side of the street near the Folk Art Museum, it was August (Hot!) and there was tar coming up through the cracks on the sidewalk on the other side of Wilshire.
We were there a few years ago; a lot of the exhibit hall was sectioned off because they were setting these new displays up.Thanks for showing what they did!! The Tar Pits has a special place in my heart; when I was a little kid my dad got me a book they sold in the gift shop as a souvenir when we visited once. This was before I could read - maybe 5 years old - so I made my parents read the book to me so many times I memorized it. Showing it to a friend one day, it suddenly hit me... The letters on the page were SOUNDS!!! Yes, I learned to read because of the La Brea Tar Pits. :-)
Enjoyed watching this video, great job Adam...went there in '89 when I lived in L.A...very interesting place..got a kick out of guy turning around as you were saying, "HELP ME!" at 20:21...thanks
This place makes me so sad. The faces of all those statutes and exhibits, especially the elephant scene just make me feel bad. Nature is scary and so dang fascinating.
Nice trim looking good Adam the woo man. I liked the shaggy look too. Plus you went to a place where I would go crazy in.. Love it completely... I'm such a nerd..LOL
Adam the woo tours always informative and a good time. Love when you show the baby and say help me lol the guy in the background was looking like what the heck was that lol.
YoubCan't go wrong with visiting the Labrea Tar Pits. I've been going there since I was a wee man and now I take my kiddos! Thanks Adam another sweet update vlogs! 👍👌👋
This place looks so cool, I might need to start saving money to see this. But is also gives me the Vibes of the Elephant Bones we got at the Oregon Zoo. Especially the Bones at the start of the museum, I literally went " Oh it's good old Jumbo's Cousin. Cause the Remains at the Zoo are of the First Male Elephant at the Zoo. He was a Circus Elephant named Jumbo and he Sired the parents of most of the Current Herd at the Zoo. They are very Spoiled Pacaderms. So seeing a Mammoth the size of Jumbo...I am actually a bit impressed, by how Jumbo kept the size going.
Butterfly into the danger zone. Fly into the danger zone! Gotta love Kenny and his classic movie songs from 80’s. Starting with caddy shack. There a place you could visit to see the filming location of that classic. If you liked it anyways. Rodney and Ted and Chevy and Bill oh my so many. Hated by most of the critics back then, but still loved today by millions.
Thanks for the virtual visit! I went to the museum back in 2006 on a visit to Disneyland and it certainly helped along my love of Ice Age animals. I've actually been writing a book about them in my part of the world. And yes, the Columbian mammoth was taller than the mastodon at about 13' to a mastodon's 9' :) But don't worry, a mastodon wouldn't bite you... Those knobby teeth were for chewing through branches.
What a great exhibit! I've always wanted to visit this place. I must be a purist. I kept thinking how I'm missing the full experience by not being able to smell the stench from the tar pits, ha, ha!
I'm from LA.... What many may not understand about the "Tarpits" is that you're NOT seeing fossils. Fossils are organic material that has had its chemical makeup replace by other other minerals . The Tar Pits offer actual bones. The tar preserved their actual chemical elements ...
Kind of ironic the amount of time and money/labor that went into posting the sign about the elephant tipping over. Could have been spent to fix the tipping over elephant. 😂😂. I love things in life like that. Makes me smile.
i remember going to this place as a kid for a field trip. and thinking to myself how much more fun it would be going by my self. i didnt get to read or see anything much in a crowd of 20 kids. awesome videos dude
The tar pits were awesome and the museum was as well 😃 I feel dumb but I never knew dire wolves were real, I thought they were just made up for Game of Thrones 😂😂 the mammoth heads should totally sing and dance lol, that would be hilarious!
You should open your own bussiness where extinict creatures sing and dance to well known songs about death. I would totally go and see it. If you don't, I will 😄
wow i hope i could get there one day... for now i just focus on my own custom of mastodon and mammoth for my channel... i was inspired by the power ranger then growing up hahaha... mastodon per se sounds for me some kinda powerful and enourmous as well as the mammoth which also have ... i just hope more people will be more aware about this epic creature they are awesome ... thanks for the infovideo its cool.... if we only can bring back the time to reincarnate this awesome creatures hehehe
They use the microscope to find tiny mammal, insects and shells mixed in with the soil. The Page Museum has some on display to show how small they can be.

Oh my! The guy in the video at the end, when you said "HELP ME" to the baby mammoth, thought you fell into the tar pit and needed help! 😆
lol @20:14 Adam yelling 'help me' and the guy across the tar pit is like...huh? ...lmao oh man I laughed so hard at that and I dunno why lol
Me too..😂😂😂
Enjoyed watching this video, great job Adam...went there in '89 when I lived in L.A...very interesting place..got a kick out of guy turning around as you were saying, "HELP ME!" at 20:21...thanks
Hidden Mickey's... Can't stop looking for them, even if we tried! :)
Thanks for posting man! Used to go on school field trips there back in the 80's. Brings back some " mammoth" memories!
So cool! Adam is living his best life 😎
Man I love that you do this. I love museums myself and getting to see them right here is very, very cool! Thank you!
This place makes me so sad. The faces of all those statutes and exhibits, especially the elephant scene just make me feel bad. Nature is scary and so dang fascinating.

Wow, that is awesome, yet slightly eerie. Is there anything LA doesn't have? A tar pit! LA really has it all. Thank you for showing this.
very nice ! love it!
We should make a cartoon with these types of animals...maybe have a squirrel chasing a nut. We could make millions!!
I went there once. Cool place... SHOOOOOSH! Lol
