I'm sure it's not a hard song to play. What is hard is being up there with your favorite band in front of a large crowd, controlling your nerves enough to even not fuck up, and to have that much energy and stage presence. He was a star during that song.
Mika Sihite Yes but not everyone has the confidence to get up in the stage with their idols and play as one of them, with equally good stage presence, in front of thousands of people.
in Portugal a few years ago they did the same thing, the guy went up there and played the same song! and did the same jump into the amp xD (different guy) not sure if thats real or not :/
Green Day does do this all the time, but this was not staged or planned at all. Many people saw this kid in line all day at the Aragon, pretty hard to miss with the pink hair. He simply had a sign that said "I can play every song on Dookie" and BJ saw it and invited him up. It was a totally spontaneous and awesome moment. He graduated from a local high school and has already done some interviews, they are floating out there.
It's so amazingly awesome that it's 2016 and Green Day still call people on stage and let them play the guitar and stuff. Amazing. Making dreams come true. What a band
I don't mind if people don't like GD but appreciate/respect them still. When people arrogantly insult them is when I get pissed. Like, most people don't even give their music a try, they just decide in advance that it's shit or whatever.
@@firstnamelastname-zd5zi Well, "Chris" is short for Christopher which means "bearer of the Anointed One [Christ]" and "Selig" means "blessed", so there you have it.
i still can't get over, 1 his guitar playing, and 2, how beautiful it was to see a room full of random people come together for a night of their favorite music and no outside pressure from anything else. Nothing will ever compare to a green day concert
I've seen them pull someone up on stage with them at everyone of their shows. These guys know why they're here and who put them there. Total class acts all around.
JamesOhGoodie he actually has a band named Mourning Wood. I've played a show with his band. High energy. Check out Vitamin Brainwash if you want as well, that's my band
That went as well as you could possibly expect for having a fan come up and play! He even nailed the jump-offs and the general rocking out on stage! Well done, man
The level at which this fellow person completed and exceeded their personal goals is astonishing. This is a celebration of everyone creating music and everyone bold enough to take their practice in front of a crowd. Well done man, well done for sure. Surely more thoroughly than viewers might have carried out without your fucking A+ confidence and execution, you have established a new tier in what it means to focus and hone a binal pursuit. Thanks from everyone learning musician's craft. It occurs to me not talking to the person onstage, but I think this has grown enough that he might see it. Thank you for you confidence and fucking entertaining display.
4 years ago today me and my buddy were at this concert. Probably one of, if not the best, concerts I’ve ever attended. The energy was absolutely incredible and this right here was definitely one of the many highlights 🤘
My friends and I formed a band in high school because it was cool back then. This was one of the songs we sang in our only public performance. We honestly sucked and I tripped on stage but it was fucking fun. I miss the 90s.
That is so freaking cool Man 🚬🎆💙☺😮😎🎪🎸🎶🎼📺🎤〽🎶 I always Wished I come get up & Play that Song !! and Rock out w / DA Band since I was 16# years old " * Green Day Rocks * Forever
So spectacular!! Saw a different video of this same moment of the same show when I was sick in bed over the weekend. I lost count how many great videos I watched of Green Day generously interacting with/ sharing the stage with fans; but this fan stuck out! Hands down awesomeness!!!
I was there, this kid was awesome! At first I was like, oh damn he's gonna play something, and then he rocked the hell out of it. One of the best moments of the concert for sure.
I used to think these "fan plays on stage with *INSERT BAND NAME HERE*" videos were a dime a dozen, but this one genuinely made me smile. Kid has real stage presence. Good for him.
One of the reasons Green Day is awesome. They bring fans on stage often. I can't imagine the thrill you'd get from going on stage with a legendary band and getting to play a song. I went to a foo fighters show a few years back and I thought how awesome it would be if I could get on Taylor's kit and play this is a call. The show was amazing by the way. Royal Blood opened for them.
I was there and this shit was lit ASF. My first Green Day concert and I'm so glad I got to see them. If only I could have gone to their 94 concert at the Aragon. I really wish I could go back to that night
Hey thats me
FREAKING KILLED IT MAN! You were amazing.
Grabbed that moment and ran. AWESOME!
Thomas Bulvan fantastic job man!!!!!!
Very jealous that you got to play Blue. Did you knock over an amp?
Thomas Bulvan you kicked ass dude! 👊🏻. You knew every bit. True fan!
I'm sure it's not a hard song to play. What is hard is being up there with your favorite band in front of a large crowd, controlling your nerves enough to even not fuck up, and to have that much energy and stage presence. He was a star during that song.
Yeah, there's only four chords and I can play it pretty well by myself but I know I'd be shitting myself if I had to do this.
@@theguywhoisaustralian1465 You can see Jason White helping the fan with the strumming to get in line.
It’s not a hard song
The solo is hard to learn, but once you get it, it’s not difficult
Yeah it’s easy to leave but there would be so much pressure I think I’d crack😂
Fuckin awesome. This guy nailed it! You could say he probably had....the time of his life.
TitaniumNikes You didn't have to call me a pun wielding terrorist. You could have just said: "there's a door right here"
LOOKOUT HE'S GOT A PUN
He needs to FOD.
Leo Anyone can play Green Day these days. There is Ultimate guitar and all those tutorial shit
Mika Sihite Yes but not everyone has the confidence to get up in the stage with their idols and play as one of them, with equally good stage presence, in front of thousands of people.
Proud of this dude. Not only he slayed When I Come Around, but he also played with Blue. The fuckin' legendary Blue goddamn
Actually from what I heard Billie uses custom-made replicas of Blue on tour now because the original was showing wear and tear. Still awesome though.
@@JamesOhGoodie No, it's original Blue
i love how into it that fan is. probably one of the greatest experiences of his life.
in Portugal a few years ago they did the same thing, the guy went up there and played the same song! and did the same jump into the amp xD (different guy) not sure if thats real or not :/
28YuDeR82 interesting. it does seem a little "too perfect." But who knows?
yeah, maybe it was just a coincidence
Green Day does do this all the time, but this was not staged or planned at all. Many people saw this kid in line all day at the Aragon, pretty hard to miss with the pink hair. He simply had a sign that said "I can play every song on Dookie" and BJ saw it and invited him up. It was a totally spontaneous and awesome moment. oh ok good to know :)
Never seen anyone but billie play Blue. Thats awesome.
Andrew French EXACTLY! It’s literally has to be the best thing if you get to play on billies guitar blue
Tre played it at a show too
Just watch Green Day basket case live in Germany 2001
@@sunset-life Tre's played all by myself like 50 times with Blue.
@@joepermenter7228don't forget Dominated Love Slave 😁
I bet he's still riding that high! Awesome.
tshepp89 He said it was the greatest moment of his life. He brought the house down!!! Still have the chills!!!
The fact that Billie Joe let him play on Blue says how genuine Green Day are as people! He absolutely smashed it!!
that jump high kick he did was just the icing on the cake
It's probably not the actual blue but most likely an exact replica.
After he dived into the crowd I bet he was thinking "shit... I left my glasses up there...."
Okay so I'm not the only one who thought aout that :)
Peter M exactly my thought lol but i got them back
Thomas Bulvan hey! U was really play? Or was playback ? was awesomeeee!!
Alejandro Cisternas i was really playing
I can't find a video of this with good sound quality. It's making you look bad (and from what I can tell you nailed it)
It's so amazingly awesome that it's 2016 and Green Day still call people on stage and let them play the guitar and stuff. Amazing. Making dreams come true. What a band
Martin Temelkov there getting older so they’ll definitely keep doing it
This guy must've had the night of his life, pretty special for a band to let a perfect stranger play with them. +1
yeh, maybe staged by the look of it. It'd be more god awful than the noise we usually made if some random punter jumped up.
@@markmore8863 It wasn't staged or set up.
The dude lived my dream better than I'd ever do. Cheers !
Guillaume Derouet ikr
This kid NAILED IT! True fan, lived his dream
holy crap, Billie doesn't normally let fans use his precious guitar...
Not a fan of green day but when bands let their fan come play with them always makes me smile!
Not a fan of Green day? the fuck is wrong with you?
@Ben Thompson I don't know if your comment is a joke or not. If so, then you're a terrible joker. But if not, then you're probably a big bigot.
Ben Thompson Dude. People can have opinions. Calm down.
I don't mind if people don't like GD but appreciate/respect them still. When people arrogantly insult them is when I get pissed. Like, most people don't even give their music a try, they just decide in advance that it's shit or whatever.
Lee Whitworth same
I've seen Green Day live a handful of times and it's always a fun time. They seem like good people, too.
Chris Selig
+Gonzalo Ferrarese whats that supposed to mean
@@firstnamelastname-zd5zi Well, "Chris" is short for Christopher which means "bearer of the Anointed One [Christ]" and "Selig" means "blessed", so there you have it.
literally the best day ever for that dude. it really made me smile.....
I'm decent at guitar. I've been playing for over a decade. But if Green Day brought me onstage, I would probably be crying so hard I couldn't play.
i still can't get over, 1 his guitar playing, and 2, how beautiful it was to see a room full of random people come together for a night of their favorite music and no outside pressure from anything else. Nothing will ever compare to a green day concert
This guy made it look easy... great playing with JUMPS!!!! And THAT is how you do a stage dive!!!!
I've seen them pull someone up on stage with them at everyone of their shows. These guys know why they're here and who put them there. Total class acts all around.
The best part is when he jumps on the monitor and start to play. THAT feeling...
And Billie Joe is like "What the fuck is he doin'?!"
These guys simply do NOT age :P And still sound just as good LIVE......
Adam Hoier
Goddam, that stage dive at the end and then the boys kicking right into Basket Case was PERFECT.
Literally my 16 year old dream come true. Fuck I'm jealous, that dude rocked it. Fucking Awesome!
This guy needs to form his own band ASAP if he hasn't already. He's a natural performer and needs to take full advantage.
JamesOhGoodie he actually has a band named Mourning Wood. I've played a show with his band. High energy. Check out Vitamin Brainwash if you want as well, that's my band
Green Day was my obsession as a kid....and I gotta admit I still love their music today
I'm not sure what kind of person would down vote that video, but it pretty much made my day. Good on them, and good for him.!
I was here. this kid was awesome!!!!
Billie fucking loves this kid - he probably reminds him of when he was a kid and he was just discovering Punk Rock etc. haha I love it.
So KICK ASS! Thomas Bulvan is going to be a STAR!

What a killer showman and guitarrist !!!!!!! Just amazing to watch !
this is A new level of awesomeness
Knocked it out of the park. GREAT SHOW!
He looked like a part of the band.
Also, props to Tre for slowing it down immediately when the guy couldn't keep up.
when? oww good ol Tre
gega27tt Right at the beginning, when the drums kick in. It's pretty noticeable.
I didn't even catch that until I saw your comment - he does take the tempo down a smidge to keep up with the guy. Good on him!
not a huge Green Day fan but I have mad respect for bands that do this for their fans. this is awesome.
That crowd surf at the end was the cherry on top :3

Today's best video.
Awesome.
Grew up with this band love love this!!! I would do anything to meet Green Day just once!!!!!👍🏻❤️❤️❤️😢
That dude is now a legend.
That kid was awesome... Epic! Green Day rules!
How does Green Day still look the same? Vampires?
I guess they found no drought at the fountain of youth (pun intented), just like Jim Parsons and Anderson Cooper
Just because they're called Green Day doesn't mean they're vegans.
;)
i haven't found anything about it, and btw there a big differences between vegetarians and pain-in-the-green-ass vegans

I would love to do that with Animals As Leaders
i wanna lipsync with Britney
