I'm 67,and I can this, your voice is like any other muscle,if you don't use it you'll lose it. I've had the course now going on 3months and with few exceptions, I practice everyday, especially before a gig. Makes all the difference in the world. A very inspiring clip..🤟
I have been singing lead vocals for about 45 years now and at age 65 I need to regain and improve range, get through the @$!#! pasaggio and learn good habits of exercise and technique and thank you Ken for all the vital information guiding me to things I didn't even know we're possible. Guitar was always before singing but I am driven now.
I'm 63 and I uses to sing in public, at parties, a few bands on jam night, and solos at church and choir. Im a tenor/contralto and was usually singing with them, I quit smoking cigs 11 years ago, with the help of a nicotine replacements. I know my chords are damaged but still love Belting one out! can I nurse them back to health?
Great to watch, and as usual Ken your advice is given with total focus on your pupil. Yet again i have learned so much from watching this video. Thank you Ken for your work and sharing your knowledge.
This is great seeing you giving suggestions to Tony. Easier to relate to than watching your good self demonstrating the end result. Thanks for all the posts. I am in my mid 60s and have never been able to develop my range above the E and F (10th and 11th above middle C) without strain. I will look into getting your course
It's the same exact program as the corresponding download or DVD version. But you pay as you go, and you start out with just the beginning content and then as you progress, you get more content.
Ken, is the "Pay as you go" streaming option still available with your new and improved course? Getting that $229 all together at once is the tricky part but being able to do small installments would definitely work for me!
I'm 43, just had my self vocal lessons online and RUclips for 4 months now. I had been a choir member since Elementary till college but never had a personal voice coach other than choral warm ups and vocalization. In elementary days I had topped our Final Exam in Music and hilariously our valedictorian approached and congratulate me. So I decided why not try Having vocal lessons. As per android app pitch monitor, I can hit G6 consistently. If I find that this self study is making big improvements, I may opt for a vocal coach for further training. N. B., i tried doing some composition in my elementary days and writing down the notes but scratched it as i find it hilarious 😂.
:) I used to LOVE to sing when I was little. Then some mean kid made fun of my 'Disney princess' voice, and I stopped singing. I'm extremely self conscious about sounding like Snow White (even tho I rather like lthe sound of it) I wouldn't dare sing if I thought anyone might hear me..but I miss it. I came to youtube for some mandolin info and one of your videos got suggested. I'm glad it was. I might try it :)
Some of the best singers and musicians are still rocking out after 50. How about Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Foreigner, U2, Daryl Hall, Sheryl Crow, Journey (with new lead singer), and so on and so forth. I think it's cool that I can pop into a guitar center and start singing to whatever the young folks are playing because so many of them like the retro songs. Why? Because they are good. Good music bridges the gap between generations.
Brilliant, Tony! I've loved singing all my life, but have mostly been too shy. I've just turned 38 and I'm thinking - why let shyness stop me doing something I love? You've given me further inspiration! And thank you, Ken, for your generous, patient and de-mystifying teaching! I'm a new subscriber 😊
Hi m from India n just came across your videos incidentally..u r awesome..n u tell only technical things I mean essence of singing rather than just superficial things on your channel ..thanks for uploading ur videos 💐
Ohohoho! That was awesome! He's totally an inspiration! For all those who are still young and think they can never learn to sing, this might be a great inspiration to them too ;) Seeing a soon-to-be 70 year old man singing like that! Haha awesome job Tony & Ken :D!
God bless him! I used to be able to sing pretty well, but now have emphysema and asthma, hence no breathing ability. My voice cracks which it never used to. I don't think there's any hope for me but that dude's awesome! Great job Ken! You are so talented and I love listening to you and all of your amazing students. If I can ever quit smoking and get some of my diaphragmatic breathing back diaphragmatic breathing back, I wonder if it would be possible to get at least some of my voice back? For now, I just play guitar. Do you have any students with emphysema? Thank you Ken and God bless you.
They sure do love the boxes, don't they? And you get the benefit of his program which is phenomenal by the way. It keeps this 59 year old lady's pipes working well.
Haven't even bought Kens main course yet, just have weekend warriors. Been doing those exercises for about 6-7 weeks.... Already seeing a difference, and I have cystic fibrosis to boot ~~ Will be buying main course soon (ish) stupid Canadian U.S exchange rate ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ lolz
STOP AND CONSIDER THIS: Most all singing programs out there show NO SINGING. NONE. Only "talk" with "testimonials" making crazy claims about their product. Yet NO ONE IS PROVING IT WITH ANY ACTUAL SINGING (and I mean songs, not a scale or a note - but truly singing great). The coaches aren't singing, the students aren't singing. Don't you think that is strange? Something worth thinking about on you singing quest. Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy - Where The PROOF Is In The Singing!
Here is a clip from a Skype vocal lesson with 71-year-old KTVA student Tony Moran. Check it out. Tenor High C, and higher. Tony decided he wanted to learn to sing, and seems to be having a good time. Listen to him singing CCR later in the video. To find out more about Ken's singing program, go to KenTamplinVocalAcademy.com/ and see what you can do with YOUR voice! You can also go to Ken's Vocal Forums at forum.kentamplinvocalacademy.com/ and find out what singers from all over the world are up to!
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy ...absolutly. I photographed a lot of singers when on coastal property. The singing was out ragious. He'd fit right in. He has a natural JOYFUL quality in his voice.
Luis, a job will come through for you, in time. Until then, keep watching my free videos and learn what you can. I have a new Streaming version of my course where you can make monthly payments while you take the course. That may work out better for you. 😊
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Hi, I'm Mary. I love not just the teaching videos but the personality of Mr. Ken. I really am interested to join the academy. I live in Japan and there is not even a single singing school here in the province😢. But first I wanna understand, first I must buy the DVD? and then I must pay every month for the web lessons and group of singers advice, evaluation? via credit card? if i don't have a credit card how can I pay? please tell me. thank you.
If you learn to sing properly and continue to exercise your voice properly, you can learn singing and keep singing well into older ages. 😊 I have many students in their 60's, 70's and beyond, some of them just beginning. They are having the time of their lives, singing like never before.
it depends on other factors like diet , staying hydrated and how fit you are imo , if you go easy on the booze and do other exercises that build lung strength like running your going to be in a better position to sing how you want. You can't buy it!

Cool, jemdrum. Looking forward to it!
is the streaming option you sometimes update or is it exactly the same as the dvd option ?

Aalihte, don't let anyone discourage you from singing. You deserve to be able to do what makes you feel good about yourself.

I'm from Indonesia, I have a question for you. As we grow old, is it true that our vocal range decrease and we can't reach high notes? I'm.52.
