    We have 4 at our club in Scotland, I’m so addicted to them. They fly so well even at slow speeds.

      That’s why I like them so much. The flight envelope is amazing on these planes.

    Gotta buy a new one .. flew FPV with it on 4 S .. gotta try FPV on 6 S!!!!! Thanks for educating us .. didn't know it handles 6 S out of the box.

    Nice flight !
    I think without the GPS drag you hit 130+... 🙂
    Caution: the stock ESC is equipped with 30V Mosfets (as most "6S" labeled ESCs of the market)
    using these "6S" ESCs actually with 6S batteries, is in reality risky due to the chopping spikes. I would stay to 5S max ! (best is 4s for total safety)
    on 6S you stress the Mosfets beyond their voltage limits, and sooner or later you get the white smoke...
    and if lucky the embedded BEC survives and you land the plane in one piece, but this is not guaranteed... 😅

      @GD-ROM_1.2GB good to know. I’ll probably just change out the esc. Going to put an 80amp in.

      @GD-ROM_1.2GB next run I will see if I can fit the GPS inside. The 80amp esc I’m going to put in may help with a little more speed.

      @@patrickconey7643 yep, the added drag from the GPS is far from negligible. No doubt you will gain several mph ! Also with the the new esc, be sure you set enough timing, or else the power may be reduced. (use wattmeter to compare before and after) good luck for your next flight :)

    Sounds great...I fly mine on the stock motor and esc, 4S with a Aeronaut 7X7 CF....changes the sound a bit. Have buddy that flys on 6S...smoked the motor...but had an impressive smoke trail at speed..

    • @patrickconey7643
      @patrickconey7643  10 месяцев назад

      How quick does that 7x7 prop make it? How long did he run it before he smoked it? I think I’m gonna get a higher pitched prop to run on 4s. Where did you get the prop?

  • @Lopez_rc
    @Lopez_rc 10 месяцев назад +1

    Mine works fine for longer than 10 seconds, I think that is because higher voltage means less amps, but with same prop, I think the amperage will stay about the same.

    • @patrickconey7643
      @patrickconey7643  10 месяцев назад

      So you are running stock too in 6s with no issues as well? How long have you been running it? I thought about doing a smaller prop for less amp draw.

    • @Lopez_rc
      @Lopez_rc 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@patrickconey7643 yep, not sure about exact amp draw, as the outside temperature was quite low. I would not try running full trottle all the time

      Same setup, more voltage the current will increase significantly! From 4 to 6S probably around 20-30%!

    Did you even fly a plane?? 🤣🤣 All I heard was a loud sound. 😂🤙🏼 Awesome!! I got the same bird but only flown it on 4 cell batteries.

      Yeah, I wish my go pro had a zoom feature. It is louder in person. Gonna try to get my buddy to do another video with me in 6s so he can zoom in some. You’d love it in 6s. Thinking of going either a smaller prop for more speed.

    Oh oh oh... I have a new one in the box and the same batteries. I hope I don´t try this crazy idea :D:D Have you checked the temp of ESC and Motor after those passes?

    Is this impossible with stok elettronic! Esc is 60amp

    • @patrickconey7643
      @patrickconey7643  10 месяцев назад +1

      This is the stock electronics. Stock Aerostar 60amp esc. Technically the esc is 2-6s. It’s only 70amp burst for 10 secs so I’d be better off and safer going with an 80 amp. I’d also draw less amps if I went to a smaller prop. As you can see though it will work it’s just a risk.

      @@albychainsaw80the stock motor is okay on 6s, the biggest risk is the 60amp esc. If I continue to run 6s, I’ll probably change out the esc to an 80amp.
