I just want to have technique like Anton, improvise like Guthrie and Rosenwinkel, innovate like Bumblefoot, play chords like Holdsworth, write songs like The Beatles and be as popular as John Mayer. Is that really too much to ask?!
I agree… When technique is at the level you need it to be,freedom sets in. Of course, there is also a problem of stuff like time, fretboard knowledge etc. That being said, since you’re so adept at string skipping, would it be possible for you to cover Recuerdos de la Alhambra or some other classical tremolo piece? It has always been my dream to adapt that kind of repertoire to pickstyle acoustic guitar(it has been done, just not a lot). Or better yet, forget about the nerdy guitar stuff and just enjoy your holidays!
I totally agree with all you said! I think people who never reach the level that makes them feel comfortable playing guitar in front of other people probably have a very good ear and really know what they want to play but just cant.. Im one of those people.. Its the same with my body, i dont want to show my body to anyone because i dont reach the level that makes me feel comfortable in front of other people. My mother have always been the kind of person who comments other people and that probably made me more conscious about myself and that i must be perfect to be good enough.
I like the way you put it. Nice perspective. And also I like your "no bullshit allowed" way of thinking, I'm similar in that aspect. Wise words Anton. Regards!
❤WOW!;not just a MASTERFUL player, but,a Shred Shaman with a DEEP understanding of the neural obstacles one must overcome to “play freely”❤ LOVE your content,Anton😊!
9:36 you joke about this , but these are ACTUALLY the type of events that haunt me, and cause me to look back and cringe like I'm poking a wound. I've been deadly afraid to play in front of my family/gf/etc because I cant play at an yngwie level. even though I'm not horrible a player, I still don't want anyone to hear my playing. also my dad is a pro bass player and I can tell he holds his tongue so I can progress.. its rough man
Ultimately it comes down to an accurate assessment of a positive skill level and-this is the key as it is for any skill-how *confident* in yourself you are in reaching and maintaining it so you can take the next step beyond it if you want and can.
Excellent intro. I watched it several times. Very clean playing, excellent ise of dynamics and precise control of muting. Now I'll watch the rest of it because I do suck at the guitar compared to you. Thanks.
My friend, you play so incredibly well... of course, in your intention and aligned with your own aspirations, because who knows what kind of composer you are. The guitar is a multi-dimensional instrument, but the technique you possess is so advanced that I’d call it technology. This recording should be sent to the aliens currently roaming around New Jersey, so that, like in those silly American movies, they can see there’s hope for our species and say, “We’ll give you one more chance.” And, of course, right after that statement, there’s the American flag. In the final shot, an alien tries to play an electric guitar, gets frustrated, and throws it. Haha... I think this video is worth all that. Greetings from Sarajevo!
I can play and write songs I'm happy with, but that doesn't mean I can always play exactly what I have in mind. In some cases I have to comprise my ideas for my ability, but I can always still come up with something I'm happy with. It's a never ending journey.
cool solo in the beginning i could never do those stetched because i have small girly hands lol ....... but i know there is usually more than one way of doing something
To perform music for satisfaction (of other people or thyself) can be a very dangeours place to be as an artist. Wait, artist!!! To play music by the artistic pov u have only 2 choices that can co-exist: play to express yourself as an artist an/or to rethorical porpuses. Very, very, very good reflection, man. Brillant, like always!
Okay,Anton, how ‘bout this scenario 😊?”Why did you stop playing that motif, that’s world class playing?”-“I know,I was playing so well, that I had to stop before I made a mistake 😮! You’re the best,Anton❤! I’m heading to Russia! btw, first time seeing you without your Ibanez!
Hi Anton, do you have any thoughts on classical position vs casual position re: effect on technique? I noticed you always play in casual, I wondered if the wrist/arm position of the picking hand makes a difference. Great vid btw! Cheers
Anton, I noticed at the very beginning of your playing here you started with strum that slowly turned into alternate picking, all done perfectly even in time. Is that something you consciously practiced ever? Meaning even spaces between the notes?
@@AntonOparinENG hey Anton, here i have a question: What are the options to pay for the course, is it only credit card? Most of us germans - unlike most other people - rarely have credit cards. Glad to see you back Anton..and good to see your picking hand has reached another level of awesomeness 🤘🤘
how did you read my mind?! very well said sir, spot on!!
Thank you Anton. I needed that🎸
Extra points for the headphone cable being in the way of your fret hand and making you dip your head to compensate for the lack of ideal length.
