If sports cards continue to go down the path of being purely transactional with no emphasis on the love of it or collecting it will always be in Pokemons shadow of joy.
I own a sports/pokemon card shop. We don’t ever have Pokemon “flippers” that come in the shop. But we do have sports card flippers. And I can tell you one thing, that I do not like working with them. They always grab a huge stack of cards and try to “nickel and dime” you over the price of each card. It’s so annoying to deal with them.
I went to a show here in San Jose this weekend. Im friends with a dealer. All the guys that come up to the booth are just looking to grade raw or find a deal to flip. NOT A SINGLE COLLECTOR. Dudes are spending 5k to make 50 bucks. This is the hobby now
Zion has to be one of the biggest money burners, probably number 1. Herbert is also up there. He had a great rookie year when stuff was at its peak, and people were shelling out insane amounts for his good cards. Guy isn’t even a top 20 fantasy qb now and is rarely even talked about anymore. Some people lost heaps on him I am sure.
my update from northern virginia…. this saturday a local small show I go to each month the last few months has at least trippeld in size of people and its becuase pokemon tables showed up there….. it was standing room only in a small room of about 30 tables… kids with moms and dads everywhere… pokemon is certainly very popular right now…. its modern pokemon tho.. I collect 1999 1st edition cards but modern pokemon is where the kids are at that small show.. First time I had to park pretty far out to get in.. was thinking they had another event there but no...

Shadow of Joy….damn don’t give them anymore ideas of product release names 😂😂😂

Anything that starts out as a collectible won’t be.

The event side was run horribly, but I requested and got my booth money refunded from Fanatics the day after they cancelled.
McGwire taught me a lesson early on.. Still i say his swing was top 5 for power. Canseco was more hyped
Listen to you and your “char lizard.” You’re a true pokecollector… 😂good stuff.
need to call out the resale of the topps chrome unlicensed basketball its sad
National should put breakers on 2nd floor.
No chance that would happen they pay all the bills they get prime spot
HBD to the wife, what better way to celebrate than a card show visit to give her some time to herself 👏 😅
Luis Robert cost people a LOT of money. His topps chrome rookies is one of the most graded cards of all time
Neo used to talk about that guy all the time. He mentioned Lou Bob almost every video.
Ofcourse I talked about him he was super
Popular back in the day.
@@andrewjackson4510 yep. He is was Covid baseball Jesus
The player who will cost investors the most is Wemby, way to many cards are graded for them to hold value. Its like 2 million psa 10 wemby's now
Wander for the baseball people
Wander Franco did some damage
I understand it’s your thing to call Charizard Charlizard, but you already come correct with Pikachu so I don’t get it.

Herbert is still a great QB and a future Super Bowl winner.
Herbert is River 2.0

Anyone who does a Black Friday sale this year is going to lose money. Cards are so far down.
Thanks
What about Wander Franco MLB taking a hit to the wallet. Ouch 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Zion is big
Lonzo is up there as well
Anthony Richardson says "Hold my beer". Waiting to be a huge bust, so much so last year Football is tanking.
If you want to find a good deal on something, just don't go to the National!
I’ve got plenty of good deals at the National.
Just because you can (throw money at an unproven big rookie) doesn’t mean you should.
What’s a good pokemon recent release to try out?
All of the qbs in that tlaw class was pretty awful
TCG is a massive bubble
Dollar box zion
🤣🤣🤣
Zion lost equals wander Franco loss
Zion cost people WAAAAAY more money than wander.
@
You probably would know better. I’ve only been back in last two years
Who carss about fanatics they suck
You should care considering they'll be the only game in town for cards in a few years
