I hate t see the VROD go, it is a work of art and you can ride it. Great content! I did not care for the cab over, it has zero appeal in my opinion. I am glad it was sold and not crushed. More please!
At 1:42 you mention a shop that makes brake hoses..... My local hydraulic hose shops cannot make brake hoses due to insurance liability issues and possibly some legal/law problems. Now the local shops can make clutch hoses in whatever configuration you might need 🤔. Where you install it is your decision.
After taking it out for a rip with all the new parts it's totally different from the day I got it... I think the new tires made all the difference but this thing is fun!! 🏍
I have to admit I was kind of hoping you could put the cab over in the crusher once it gets fixed but it's actually good to hear you sold it before that could happen.
I think you might be on to something replicating VRod parts. Those guys that built that huge VW bug, identical to a stock but 40% larger, pulled every piece off it, digitized it, and then remanufactured parts from the digital blueprints. You could do the same with the VRod.
You've extended the life of that cool bike by another 20 years at least. Nice work. I love that the cab-over sold! I was so sad to hear you might crush it. I'd rather something as classic as that go sit in a field until it finds the right buyer. Even better that it's found a new home.
I've been following John Ross for a very long time now and he is without doubt my favourite youtuber, I just wish the videos were a little bit longer in length like a minimum of 20 minutes maybe even half an hour, that would be absolutely brilliant...👍🙂👍🇺🇲🇬🇧🇺🇲🇬🇧
Not a fan of vacuum bleeding. You loosen the bleeder screw and it starts sucking air through the threads along with the brake fluid from the brake lines.
That big blue Baron thingy in the back of the Vrod is seriously intriguing? Parts of some kind of oilfield equipment? Anyway congrats on finishing the Vrod and hope it sell well.
Reverse bleeding is how Porsche bleeds their brakes/clutches. I almost always bleed clutch lines this way, car brakes can take a while if you don't have a vacuum bleeder but the brakes always feel great after!
there are tons of bikes/cars/mountain-bikes that have semi-unique components that often stop being manufactured long before the items themselves stop being bought and sold... so there may be a market for those unique items in some cases. A beloved classic Harley definitely would be one of them.
I suppose they weren't selling very well, but I always thought the VRod was a cool bike. Harley probably should have kept developing it...but that's a moot point now.
The issue was Harley developed the engine, which was probably the best engine they've ever made, then...they just sat on it for two decades and never did anything with it. It went from 1130cc to 1250, but that was also when the bikes jumped from a 180 rear tire to a 240, so in fact then 1250 models ended up being a hair slower. In 2002 a modern muscle cruiser cranking out 120hp was a big deal, especially since it handled well, sounded great, and looked the part. They could've taken that Revolution motor and made some insanely cool Dynas and Softails, they could've scrapped the excess, put out a barebones bike with big power that could've absolutely ripped, or even made a big-cube version and tested out a new Road King, but they stuck with the Twin Cam, the old Evo in the Sportys, then developed the Milwaukee 8 and left the Revolution hanging then just killed it off, never to be seen again, after 2017. IMO it's where they really screwed up. They had the design to modernize two decades ago. The new Revolution Max is putting out similar performance #s, but it doesn't look, feel, or sound nearly as good as the old Revolution engine.
If I could help Watch JR Goes work on the Harley I would drink the shots of whiskey and cold Bartle Skeets with him and puff on the Cannibus cigars with him and get all schmoked up.
Never been a fan of the two-wheel motorized stuff. Your v-rod was the exception. It was like the Chrysler Air-flow of the 1930's. Performance aside, it just looked great to these old eyes. Narragansett Bay

They are really popular here in NZ, even with our fuel costs. Every week I hear at least one doing a valve bouncing burnout, I think they go through more tyres than fuel
I realize you don't have a shop at the moment, but that cobbled together banjo adapter is something you pull in a parking lot to make it home. You're better than this.
FULL STOP. Once you have used DOT5 in a system, the full system needs to be flushed if you want to switch over to DOT4 or below. Contamination will result in system failure. Was the system designed for DOT5? It needs to stay that way.
This isn’t remotely true and has been proven many times on the forums… I probably replaced all the fluid 3 times, it’s fine. 💯 The Brembo system is designed for Dot4.
@@WatchJRGo they're really good quality. And if you ever have issues with it, there is a ton of companies out there that will help (Diversified Air Systems has any parts you guys need)
They do make some amazing air compressors! A shop that I used to work at had nothing but Sullair compressors. Like huge superchargers and they were cool!
I wouldn’t sell the VRod because it’s the first year they are worthless now but I promise you that will not last it may take20 years but it will be one of those I wish I never sold it deals.

Just fyi 02 was the first year for the vrod. I remember being in Wisconsin for a Harley when they introduced the vrod, surprising everyone.
Nice the V-rod is done, Congrats! I wonder when will you take on the crawler again? Or did you sold it
You fixed the Porsche!
Porsche had a hand in design of that Harley.

Very unique!
They only refined what was the VR1000 Engine into a streetable engine. Saying that they did everything is just BS.
