William, thank you so much for posting! Easily the most detailed footage of Geauga Lake pre-1980s. I moved to Aurora in 1976 at age 5, so it's fascinating to see all the rides that were no longer there when I started visiting as a child; like the Snap (whip), Surprise in the Dark, Loop O Planes, and kiddie coaster. The footage from the rockets is iconic; I will always remember the view of the lake and Rock O Planes. I always appreciated that Geauga Lake kept 'old' rare rides like the rockets, Flying Scooters, Monorail, and Fly O Planes through the 90's long after most other parks had dismantled most pre-1970 rides. Geauga Lake was my childhood playground, and a little park of me died when the park closed. Geauga Lake deserved a better fate.
Memories from my childhood. I was about five or so the first time I visited Geauga Lake and distinctly remember riding the rockets with my father. Someone purchased one of the rockets and converted it into a sort of trolley ride. I wax nostalgic every September when I see people taking a ride on it.
Luv this, especially with no music or narration. Just the park and memories. Thank you!
Wow! brought back memories. Thanks for sharing.

Geauga lake amusement park was and still is my favorite amusement park. Some of my happiest memories is of my time at that place.
