Amazing footage! Gives me flashbacks of when my father as well as my sister and I having season passes from the mid 90s to the last season the Geauga lake park was open. After cedar fair shut down everything but the water park we stopped going as it was depressing to see the rotting corpse of the amusement park from wild water kingdom. I should’ve went to the last day that was open too but now all of it’s gone and being turned into more retail spaces (which won’t last long and be abandoned like across the street there’s empty stores) and homes for the upper class citizens of Aurora and bainbridge that aren’t affordable to the average joe. I noticed some footage was cut though from the original vid like the parking lot with X-Flight and Big Dipper footage. Still good days there for sure especially during the 2003 blackout when we got stuck on serial thriller for an hour lol.
I miss this place so much. Whether it was Geauga lake or six flags. I have to show this to my son who's starting to get into coasters. I've tried explaining it to him before. I loved the Batman ride so much and the double loop was the first Rollercoaster I ever rode. It's so great seeing all those memories come to life again.
@@XtremeCoasters agreed it was iconic for northeast Ohio. Though I was just a child when and it was getting close to the end it was nostalgic and brought out good times in the summer with the family its a shame to see what happened to it.

What a damn shame. When I was really young my parents brought me here and it was just Geauga Lake and then I came back as a teen and it was Six Flags. I absolutely loved this park.
six flags thought they could beat cedar point, lmaooooo, ok but seriously I wish it was still here, screw cedar fair, it looked amazing from 95-04, and rip Geauga Lake (1985-2007)
18:15 - 18:25 This right here. It was this coaster! This is the one where I witnessed someone lose their flip-flop in the early to mid 2000s! It was...2004? Probably the summer of 2003. I remember the coaster having a bunch of loops and being over a frog pond. 18:42 is the general direction/area I was standing at.
@@XtremeCoasters - Yea, me and a friend went to Cedar Point for Millennium Force and at that time I didn't even know Worlds of Adventure existed. It was pretty cool how immense the landscaping was on the one side of the park then XFlight was built on part of old parking lot looking a little ghetto with just half dead looking grass underneath but the other side of the park was landscaping overload lol. I remember walking across the floating bridge that went over the lake. It was such a cool park, I can't believe its just a few concrete pads left. I have some pics but no video. XFlight was my first flying coaster.
@E5m We visited in 2003 for Dragster (and Millennium Force of course). Yes, it was a stunning park, the fact it's still so dearly missed so many years later is a testament to how loved it was.
Man this park wouldve been cool to visit. Wish it was still around. I only did Sea World Ohio when I was maybe 4 yr old.. so I.. KINDA got to experience a little less than half of SFWOA :p
It should have never closed down. With the ride collection and everything else it had to offer, with the right management there is no reason this park could not have succeeded. Being close to Cedar Point was a lame excuse for its failure. It offered a very different experience to CP, so can't see why anyone who was in the area and had even the slightest interest in theme/amusement parks wouldn't visit both.
@@XtremeCoasters I been to Cedar Point just couldn't fit on Wicked Twister side safety belt due to my boarded shoulders, but very close. They moved it to Dorney Park and called it Possessed, and I rode it in 2012, and 2013.
It was incredible, but Cedar Point had opened Millennium Force, Wicked Twister and Top Thrill Dragster between 2000 -2003. There is no way this park could compete with that sort of combo. Guess more people were heading to CP and this park just didn't get the numbers it needed :(
@@XtremeCoasters I understand, but when Cedar Fair owned this park, you can't tell me that they couldn't have kept this a "B" park. What I mean is, even then, when Cedar Point adds a ride, a ride has to be taken away. Cedar Point already owned the hotels. 🤷♂️
@@badreality2 Really it comes down to only operating one park instead of 2. The amount of money they saved by buying the park dirt cheap and closing it has been worth millions over time since it's purchase. man! this depresses me. I went there almost every single year from 93-2005 and saw the park in many different forms from when it was Geauga Lake and Seaworld was completely seperate, to then you could have a pass to do both, to Six Flags while keeping an animal park (can't remember if it was still Seaworld or not), to Six Flags with the animal park closed, to Six Flags Great Adventure when the animal park was now another water park, then to when it was Geauga Lake again. Things weren't the same after Six Flags left and definitely sucked when they started pulling out rides but never thought it'd be closed. It's so sad to see the state of the property now. It was such an amazing place for so long. Such a waste.
