UC Berkeley students join wave of anti-genocide encampments

- Nora Barrows-Friedman interviews UC Berkeley law student at the "Camp Free Palestine" encampment.
Students there have set up their encampment on the steps of Sproul Hall, where the Free Speech movement of the 1960s was ignited, and where historic encampments against the Vietnam war and South Africa’s apartheid system have taken place in the past decades.
In the background, you can hear the sounds of Israeli drones, which students have broadcast over speakers to remind passers-by of the constant noise of drones over the Gaza Strip.

I was arguing this weekend with my uncle. He is claiming that this is not a genocide and I tried to explain to him that if you just look at the death toll in such a short period of time what other word can you use. He said a genocide is intentional eradication of a people and their culture. He claims that from the time that Hamas took over the population more than doubled. I checked the numbers and he is correct. How can I logically win this argument

My generation failed. But, I'm so proud of these university students for being on the right side of history. It's their future and they don't want to continue with supporting a genocidal state to maintain US hegemony in the Middle East.
