You can feel the 42' in the saloon, but the cat lays out more like a 48'er. It is really nice. Thanks again Nick for your thorough, unbiased review.
You're very welcome 🙂
The beauty of a catamaran comes down to SPACE. Yes, stability via two hulls in the water is also a plus. And deck space is nearly twice that of a mono hull. Economy is slightly better - again by design. Let's face it, catamarans offer advantages over mono hulled boats. Nick, you've done it again with one more unique tour. Thank you.
You're very welcome! 🙂
As far as a new build goes, that seems like a lot of bang for your buck… Cheers Nick 👍
42’ nice and compact yet has a lot of room
Because the layout really works
Thank you Nick
This is stunning 😍
Love the red socks very Sir Peter Blake especially on something with a sail
Style never goes out of fashion 😎
What a great layout for a couple. Love the utility room in the bow.
I'd be very happy cruising one of these cats.
As always a great review Nick. Thanks
Our pleasure!
Just saw this boat demoed by brand X a few days ago and found your tour much more substantial. Love the way you clearly give all the details and options without any of the silliness they do. Had I know you had this one coming Nick I would have skipped theirs completly. Many thanks again!
Our pleasure!
Another great tour ⛵️🛥️🚤👍👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
i really like the space on this boat!
Love the ending! Highlight of this tour!😄
Great looking Yacht well set out and can be changed to what you want, perfect.
Very impressed with the flexibility, am a sucker for cats anyway, love the duel access to the fly bridge . A definite thumbs up 👍
Fantastic!👍🏻
Another great review thank you keep them coming 😊
Thank you! Will do!
That’s a really nice layout, I could see myself living on that!
Interesting , Thank You . Looks like a very nice will designed yacht . I hope that every thing works as designed
A lot of space good value that one Nick
Lovely boat
great review
Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
What a nice boat so many changes available & amazing room inside & out.
Good review Nick.
Thanks!
Great boat! Thanks for sharing! Looks like a lot of options can be done with it! 👍👍
Thanks for watching!
@@AQUAHOLIC 👍👍
"I'll edit that out later", No I wont. And yes "Helicopter". One of the many reasons why we love Nick so much. :))
It was a great helicopter though... 😄
Lovely tour. Thanks, Nick! I think I'd prefer the port hull divided into two cabins while keeping the utility room. That would still allow for three cabins on board, and the overflow space or the additional lounge space, while retaining the large deck locker.
What a lovely, homely boat!
What a beautiful boat
That 4K is looking crispy 👌
Hi Nick. Thanks as always for the tour and as usual huuuuge hugs from Colombia
My pleasure!
Hello, didn’t know anything about boats until I started watching your videos. Now I watch them every day. Thanks for explaining things clearly for new people like me!
Glad you like them! 🙂
I like the idea of two comfortable, spacious cabins.
i love this channel. its so interesting. and thanks for taking us into crew areas... 🙂
Glad you enjoy it! 🙂
As ever, Nice Nick.
Another great job Nick 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 that’s a very impressive 40 footer lots of space
Thanks 👍
Hermoso y muy práctico Nick 👍🏽👏👏💪🤜🤛🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
Great tour, make a nice boat to cruise down to Falmouth in.
Cheers Nick and Marrianne as always
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Aquila is making some really nice stuff. I really like the 54 but all their boats are nice.
Great tour Nick.I find it so interesting. All of us voyeurs refer to you as though we’re related. LOL. Don’t edit out your brain cramps. They add to the cache of your brand. Some of the other video brands sound like robots. Keep it real. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
great layout
Brilliant tour of another great Aquila. Thank you…. And the cameo helicopterrrrrrrrrrrr
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Great video! I also subscribed to your other one I did not know you had 2! Keep up the amazing work! Thanks for sharing 💙
Awesome, thanks for subbing! 😃
Lovely cat with a lot of fine options, I love it. Thanks 😀
Our pleasure!
Thanks!!!😊
very nice!
Everyone should do their own research regarding engines and transmission. Disregard all the fluff. Whether you spend 50,000 or a million, the most important concern should be your drivetrain. Thanks Nick, another excellent video. 👍
Cheers!
Hi Nick, and this is a great looking yacht fro Aquila the 42 a empresive yacht lets say we make the room in the middle a master with a bathroom of the storage locker I think you can stil store your folding bikes and peddleboards in one of the engine rooms what a space there I like the galley and the master as its on your show with the nice fly bridge enter on 2 ways great Thanks again Nick this is a great show and that in the start of this week ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
The wine storage/ cooler in the teenager's room is not a good idea 😜
Great video! Great Cat!
I need one of these
Thanks Nick! I enjoyed the tour. Not bad at all for a '42 cat at this price.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Great price for lots of volume, comfort and range, I’ll have one of these setup for UK weather but I’ll also still have a couple of Northman’s
Lovely small cat. Thanks Nick!
Thanks for watching!
Really like the Aquila cats. The 54 is in my top 3, number 1, depending on my mood at the time. I love this layout. 2 good sized cabins and the overflow in the utility area is perfect for this size. IMO the utility area is a must, just too versatile. I like the idea of a lower helm if you are operating in the extreme heat or rain. Great tour, Nick. Now I need to see what else I've missed.
Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Hi Nick extremely good value for money in this cat. Even better if it was electrified in my eyes. Cheers DougT
Thank you! 🍷
Our pleasure!
I was initially a little stunned by the price tag on this until you showed us inside. All considered, this model is really not bad at all! Now, if only Aquila could rework their current 44 to become a slightly faster long-range version of this… 🤔
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, Nick! Thanks for that.
You're welcome! 😃
According to, what Aquila host said in the Nautistyles run through of this same boat, that hydrofoil tech used in this boat as a first, will slowly be offered on all models.
“This area!” LoL
I love it. Price is excelent and buyer gets a great boat suitable for family and some friends for sub million😍
Being in Upstate NY I'd want the interior helm, but that's a really nice boat and it's actually really handy how configurable it is. 2, 3 or 4 cabins in the same hull(s); you don't get that too often. Great tour as always, Nick. Thank you!
You're welcome! 🙂
Another great tour Nick, thank you.
I really like what Aquila are doing and they really are a strong contender for taking me off into the sunset where my doctor can't see what I'm consuming.
How is the lovely Marianne doing?
She's doing very well! There's a brief appearancce from her in this video 🙂
4:40 teen age den with a wine cooler? I like it.
If I had the money, two cabin and utility all the way for me.
Great tour as always Mr Burnham.
Gad you enjoyed it! 🙂
I could happily live aboard that beautiful vessel.
I still like the layout of the 44, it's just more
Great thing about a power or sail cat. Is the wide beam. Whether this 42 or 80plus ft. They give the feel of a larger vessel. So this 42 makes it feel like an 80 to 90 ft in volume etc.
I'd love an Aquila 80, or Sunreef 80. Give a superyacht vibe.
Being disabled might be my only issue, but if I had the funds I'd make one disabled friendly from new build etc. Lovely little gem for under 900,000.
:-)
I love the tours as always, but I’m not 100% sure the the designers have got the best use of space from these Cats as the designers of mono hull boats have. There is obviously more room yet beds are up against walls and en-suites are Hugh compared to the bedrooms, just the thoughts of an interested observer
There are engine rooms behind the cabins and storage ahead of them.
I agree. I also feel as though that it has more of a industrial/commercial look to it with the light wood panels everywhere. It just doesn't have that cozy feeling to it.
You got to see one in person. The camera tends to make smaller a "cubic" layout compared to a straight one because of the prospective.
Love it and don't. But 78% love jt
On this small of a Cat you are limited by hull width in cabin arrangement.
Liked this layout. I would change the galley to the U shape. Nice and roomy.
That's a lot of boat for the money Nick and would be perfect for a small family. I would think this would be more of a Keys or Med cruiser than a UK or northern Europe boat given the vast outdoor areas and smallish interior spaces. I would love to own this. Thanks as always for the tour.
You're welcome! 🙂
That’d make my perfect retirement home
Another lovely tour nick I very much prefer the 3 cabin layout though.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
beautiful, usable boat, just need to start saving for it now. I should have enough by 2073
Nick, I love your red socks!!
Thank you for another great video.
On a separate note, when will you post the Smugglers video with 2023 upgrades? I am searching for new ideas for my little boat. 😊
Style never goes out of fashion 😎
SB2 video once all the work is finished, probably in about a month or so.
I love the Helicopter! Maybe you can start giving a tour or two of them once in a while ;)
🤔
This is awesome.. Cant believe how big it feels.... (thats what she said)
Nice
Coming to your RUclips feed soon... HELIHOLIC!
(Holy crap! That's a real word! According to my spell checker anyway.)
🤔
In my opinion, Aquila makes the most interesting boats. Their use of space is awesome and the foils on their 36' and 44' boats to improve fuel efficiency is awesome too. I wonder if they'll put foils on this size eventually.
Nick mentioned it in the engine room tour.
By thinking of the additional storage space area would be and be better finished off because you could still use it as additional storage space or an extra cabin
THANK-you for the wave!!!
I'm not really a Cat fan, myself. The forward cabin looks rather nice, but the side berths just feel too narrow. I prefer space below deck as well as on it.
👋
Dropped right back one could cruise all season.
Hey Nick that's a cracking yacht from Aguila and with the access to the bow from the flybridge imagine how much extra space could be utilised if they removed the side decks hmmm just a thought, have a great day bud 👍
You too! 😃
Nick…. I like your tours…. You focus on the important stuff. Might I suggest that you publish the specs at the end to include gas, water and discharge tank’s capacity… range, tonnage etc. thanks
There's always a link to the dealer or manufacturer's website in the description
Low draft as well, I imagine, which helps if you’re moored in a place that needs it. Would sit flat if it grounds on a low tide as well.
Very nice. Great video as always. Request: Pearl 82 please!!! :)
As soon as they make one! 😃
@@AQUAHOLIC Are the videos and photos they have on their website computer generated? They look so good I thought it was the real thing!
@@Glofilter Yes, those are renderings.
Looks like a three tier wedding cake
I do prefer when the beds on the hulls go into the bridgedeck where that extra room/laundry is. It makes for a much better use of space and a direct view outside.
More catamarans!
They have a smart use of the space available. But the Presitige M48 seems to be more quality overall. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
m48 is bigger and a lot more expensive too
Aquilas look good on the outside but beneath the skin, not so sure, duct tape around joints in the lazarette 9:16 and also in engine room and I've seen it on the larger models too!
I’d put the tv in the utility cabin - and have it as a media room!
A beautiful yacht as always from Aquila, nice finishes and layout. I think the U shaped galley will be better, I am sure a teenager would love the forward cabin with the wine cooler right next to his bed lol. Nice social areas as well for entertaining. Great tour thank you Nick.
You're very welcome! 😃
I would put the gallery up front and the gallery area a huge salon. It would be perfect
She's a beautiful Catamaran . Thank you Nick
You're welcome! 🙂
Galley moved into that lower 'utility' cabin area and the saloon free of kitchen clutter and dishes left in the sink vibes 🤣🤣 would be my thoughts on the layout. Cheers DougT
@@douglasthompson296 that's what I said
@@debbiejudd4933 hi Debbie, yuppers great minds think alike and I was just reinforcing your thoughts. Cheers DougT
I like.
It's no Gulf Craft Majesty 175 but it's a good amount of boat for its price considering bigger brand boats prices seems to have gone up hugely compared to 2/3yrs ago,but I still wouldn't have one until I got the question answered I've asked on previous cat tours. Strange to see only one TV in the saloon and none in the cabins. I'd personally have the 2 cabins in the master hull and the other hull cabin as the master retaining the utility room and storage locker but that's me 👌🖖
I want it :D
Thanks again for another great video Nick. Quick general question, when new boats are designed, does hull no.1 tend to be lower in sale price due to the snagging issues and adjustments to design? And does hull no.1 tend to be ordered in advance? I would imagine an owner would leverage that risk (albeit minor) when negotiating the purchase?
You're welcome! I think sometimes there might be a consideration, but on a popular brand it's less likely as people have a pretty good idea of what they are getting.
i came here because people where comparing this boat the the vandal explorer 46. From what i can see is that this boat aquila and the vandal dont compare at all. 2 completely different boats, except that they are both catamarans
On one of these cat tours can you talk about how the beam affects moorage costs.
Yeah, definitely costs more and some mariners can't accommodate them.
Does need that 3rd cabin. Although might be precarious using the loo at night on the high seas!
I dunno, a good wave will probably speed the process up at the cost of extra mess.
@@KMCA779 Ah! the old poop decker jokes!
Dibs on the berth next to the wine fridge.
When will you have a tour on the new Nordhavn 475?
As soon as I get the opportunity to film one
What is the speed?
