7:38 Yes you can fit a 11-46T With a GoatLink11 you get even better placement of the RD, so it improves shifting. I've tried it. With the medium cage you can't do 11-50T, but I think it mgiht be possible with the Long cage. I think this one is medium cage.
Shimano says the derailleur will work with a 11 to 46 cassette and a single chainring up front without any kind of extension. But you're right about it not working with the 11 to 50 my normal 5100 series derailleurs that i normally use work 11 to 50 no problem with no extension links.
I tried the Medium cage with 11-50T it did not work on full suspension. Might need the long cage. Yes 11-46T is possible without a Goat Link. I just noticed it made it a bit smoother. @@theshedMTB
Here is my opinion on the bike: 4:01 I wish the industry stopped the crazy long stems(neck). It's not a road bike, a MTB does not need it. I rather take longer reach, shorter stem, slacker head angle. But at 69 deg it's not a disaster. That fork sucks, I had one. it's a cheap fork, basically a placeholder. 5:15 Would be nice with tru axle. Thee head stand over height is great. Would be nice with tapered head tube too. But uncommon at that price point. The head tube, down tube area is big, it makes it beefy. Unusually it got a XT M8000 RD on it, they probably got a good deal on it from Shimano. Usually bikes like this don't even have Deore. But seen similar thing before, really cheap bikes with XT rd.
I can get it for $262, because of the 24% discount. Its a lot of bike for the money. I'd put some better tires on it to start and see how it goes. Maybe pedals...
Yeah definitely pedals! I'm getting ready to do a video where the kid that owns it is going to switch it over to a 1x for very little money. The tires are not really terrible they're brand name tires I mean if you're really riding off-road seriously yeah you want something different . For hard pack dirt they're not bad
@@OutDehExplorer now is the time to buy a bike if you're looking for something cuz a lot of people are offering stuff for $300 that are probably closer to $6-$700 bikes. What do you have now ?
@@OutDehExplorer I wasn't familiar with that bike so I looked it up. Looks like a pretty decent bike as it is probably better for you then outright mountain bike cuz I see from your videos you ride a lot of gravel type trails and Road surfaces. Is there something you don't like about it that you're looking for something new?
Yeah, he rode it and really liked it with that short stem. It really is a decent bike for the price ,still kind of hard to believe how nice it is! Thanks for watching!
I just got one for my son yesterday. For the money its a great bike. however the build quality is horrible. I spent several hours with my amatuer mechanic skills putting it together. The BB was loose and completely dry. I had to modify a screw to replace the 2nd Hanger screw. The Hanger was bent. The front break lever is defective. I bled the system multiple times and it still wouldn't work. I found an old SLX lever to replace it with. Finally one of the front wheel spokes close to the hub was touching the brake caliper. May not be the best bike for someone who has no technical skills. Anyone know where I can get another Hanger - just in case?
I ran iinto none of those problems, but iive heard of others who have. If you take a piicture of the derailleur hanger you can do a google search and something should come up.
Have you tried calling them and seeing if they will warranty any of the defective parts? I know I bought bikes from Walmart online and when there's been problems they're giving me some money back to take care of the issues
When did a decent length stem become taboo? Seems that the slack head angle goes with the stem. In any case, Royce Union is somehow becoming the Bridgestone of budget MTBs this decade.
Iits not taboo , at 5'4 he would have struggled to reach the handlebars with that long stem on there. Me personally I don't like long stems because of the way I feel when I'm riding but that's a personal thing, if you like longer stems there's nothing wrong with that!
Take a look at their site and see how their sizing it. It's probably going to be a medium just because the top tube is so long but definitely not the small because the seat post would be so high it would wind up bending
They're showing a medium /large for 6 ft 2 to 6 ft 4 -unfortunately not giving a whole lot of dimensions on anything but the small is not the way to go would it be too much seatpost sticking out. I'm about the same size 6 ft and both my bikes are 19 inch frame soi if their calling it a 19 inch it may be okay as long as the top tube isn't any longer. Maybe you can call and get more information or some dimensions but I've only had the small so I don't know what the other sizes measure. Sorry I couldn't be more help!
@travis3567 I think you'll be good because it said the medium large which I think the 19 is is for 32 in inseam and up. My guess is all of them have a 23 inch top tube
It really is! Does not really even a whole lot of things I think we'll have to do to it very soon. Maybe make it one by with the existing crank and just a new chain wheel and maybe a new cassette to give it a little higher first gear, maybe some pedals and that's probably about it

It definitely is a decent looking bike and with all the good parts like hydraulic brakes and a cassette it's really hard to beat!

Your intro music is slamming into the limiter, it's way too loud. take like 6dB off of it.
Thanks for the comment I'll keep that in mind next video
