@@definitelynottommywiseau3037 so that means it's for S1 Then .....because S1 released in June 22 and S2 in June 23.....So yeah....I guess he's eligible for award for S2 acting in that whole episode 7
The main reason I watched The Bear. He played an annoying, loud, ignorant character with effortless charm that you just love him despite all his faults. Casting this actor was genius. He literally does not look like he's acting. It's like he was born Richie. His face conveys thoughts and whole conversations without any words. Watching him is just such a joy.
I personally dislike his character very very much (currently in the middle of season 2), although his character arc is interesting and I get why some people may feel moved by him. From the first seconds, I thought his ego and incompetence was the main problem of the restaurant and it bothers me that nobody seems to do much about this man-child filled with insecurities (although his self-awareness and sensitivity make his journey interesting). He reminded me of my own experience with exactly 2 similar people I worked for in an Italian Restaurant in Australia (held by second-generation Italian immigrants). Which is funny because although I love and have tremendous respect for the Italian culture and its people and have made many Italian friends along the way, whom I met all around the world, this American-Italian archetype (although Richie is not Italian, but he incarnates every stereotype) in movies/series, I dislike very much. Which is also why, although I respect Scorsese's filmography a lot, and think most of his films are masterpieces, they are just not my cup of tea from a personal taste perspective The family culture is cool (when it's not toxic), the love for food, as a Frenchman, I can only respect, but the "mafioso/vibe" isn't for me. But the fact that I dislike this character so much is exactly why Ebon is such a great actor and deserves his flowers. Brilliant performance! Great cast, dialogues, story, music, montage, and show.
PS: After watching the end of season 2, he is now my favourite character of the show. What a cathartic character development/journey/arc, freaking loved that show. Season 2 episodes 4, 6 and 10 are amazing, but 7 hits the fucking mark. Emmy award is 100% deserved.
@@guillaumeraux as I was reading your first message, I was hoping you'd post an update after the ep Forks, I felt exactly the same way. Initially didn't like Ritchie, and he's now my favourite character lol
If Ebon Moss-Bachrach doesn't win the next Emmy for the scene where Richie sang Taylor Swift's Love Story in The Bear Season 2, then the Emmys fucked up at that 😂 Edit : You damn right he wins it 😂
This year actually because there'll be another Emmys in September. This one was supposed to be done September last year but got postponed due to the strikes.
The highlight of the series for me. Great performance. I wouldn't be surprised if he won another one for the second season (specially for the 7th episode).
I love how Jeremy was looking at him with admiration as well! I think they’re such a good tight cast! 😭😭 i did cry! So happy for Ebon-Moss and so well deserved
His performance in The Bear was incredible. While I was watching it I could not stop thinking about a few people in my own life that were just like him, when I was growing up in the Chicago area.
Forks is my favourite episode of The Bear, I love the show, but it was great to allow Richie his journey, away from Carmy and the presence of Michael’s death
Oh my if this win is for Season 1, then i don't see how anyone could top Richie's Season 2 performance and transformation!! Congrats Ebon, Let It Rip!! 👌👌😃
Wow I had no idea that he won in such a stacked category. Both entries from Ted Lasso are some of my favorite characters ever, and it feels so weird to say that he still deserved it over them!
I wouldn't be fair if Jeremy and Ayo got all the credits for the success of the show. Ebon is the most captivating character in that series in my opinion.
And this was for Season 1. He’s even better in Season 2 and I’m sure he’ll win again. Well deserved. An extremely tricky character to play who could easily be completely unlikeable in the wrong hands.
I hope until then the Emmys will have revisited their criteria for comedy shows, so that the second best drama show of the year can't just waltz into the comedy categories and steal trophies from shows that are actually comedic. Because as much as I love The Bear this was a fraudulent disgrace
they will have to protect the comedy categories from invasive species better though. Because currently every second best drama show of the year, that really wants itself some trophies, can just waltz in there and pretend having a tiny bit of humor every third episode qualifies them to be considered a COMEDY:
The fact that even in 2024 when Holly and John came on Emmys stage they played two and half men's theme song and even they imitate their characters of Allen and mom is makes me happy
I love absolutely love ebon in this show but i feel like i would have waited to give Emmy to him next year for season 2 as i would have liked either Phil Dunster or Anthony Carrigan to win, with it being there last season of there shows.
yeah, what a great f*cking COMEDY that show was. Isn't he hilarious in it? Such a funny character. What are your top three funniest scenes from the first season of hit COMEDY The Bear?
I love The Bear, I trully feel like the show and the cast deserve awards all around. BUT, it feels wrong and shady for the publishers to categorize the show as comedy just so that they wont compete against the other heavy hitters of the year. And there is almost nothing comedic in the show, to make it worse. This is wrong imho
@@TheBerylknight Depends, later seasons it kinda went out as a full on drama with little humour, especially season 4, but i don't get why The Bear is also nominated in the comedy category when yeah sure, it has some comedy but c'mon, it's a drama
