I was shocked when I was in Marina del Ray and discovered Tailleferre's piano Trio, which is a reworking of a Piano Trio that she wrote in 1916/1917 by the by the Koln Trio, also a fine performance, at a now defunct Tower Records store quite unexpectedly. What a superb work this is.
Just thank you for mentioning it! I've been looking through a lot of piano quintet in the last 3 yrs to find the Hure's one (that I listened once a long time ago) cause I had totally forget his name and you just saved me a lot more trouble and frustration ahah.
I hear so much Poulenc in the 2nd movement! They must've liked each others' music Also, is that pianist scared of long notes/the sus pedal? I know there's overdoing, but there's also underdoing... Especially if you're going to break up chords like that in the 3rd and 4th mvmt
It's so sad to me that female composers like Tailleferre, Boulanger, Price, Ruth Crawford Seeger are relegated to the dust bins of history. Their music is just so beautiful, it's a crime they aren't talked about as much as their male contemporaries.
I've been checking out the uploads. I'm still unimpressed with her music. Maybe it's gonna take more listening too. Maybe because it's just too technically pedestrian.
0:01 Allegro animato
3:57 Allegro vivace
6:58 Moderato
9:48 Très animé
She was a very talented lady and deserves to be more than just a footnote to music history.

This has got to be one of the loveliest piano trios ever written
thank you for posting this
female composers have my whole heart
Interesting to see a composer revisit a work after so many years.
This is just wonderful. She deserves a cherished place among French composers. Beautifully performed!
Wow, so glad for RUclips, probably would never hear these great composers. This is tremendous.
Thank You. This always makes me cry.....just wonderful.
I love how a theme from Charpentier's Messe de Minuit appears toward the end of the second movement. Bravo Ms Taillefer, beautiful composed
Thanks again Cmaj7 !
Wonderful. The first trio after Schumann that really catches the passionate spirit that trios have to have.
Mendelssohn ? Chostakovitch 2nd ? Ravel ? Brahms ?
4:08 Joseph est bien marié

The second movement reminds me of Stanchinsky's piano trio, especially the cadences.
Niiiiiiice!
Gorgeous! Reminds me of Jean Hure‘s Piano quintet.

Thanks for mentioning that piece. It's an absolutely lovely and exuberant work from such an unknown composer!
thanks for uploading the score!! I've been looking for it from years. is it possible to get a pdf file?

I wonder why this is not better known
Classical academia is racist against the French and never stops sucking off Brahms, Mahler and Shostakovitch
