My teacher bag used to be 2-3 heavy bags hanging off my shoulder, then my hubby got me a leather rolling backpack/briefcase! Ingenious! !! My laptop and other teacher stuff fits nicely and I just roll! On Mondays and Fridays I tote all my weekly themed books from the library to and from school in a large rectangle heavy duty cloth bag from Walmart. This bag is the best student gift ever! It has a wire frame inside that folds in on each. side to press it flat!
The basket in the cupboard with little bits and pieces for yourself and spare clothes is the best idea! I'm just about to have my very first class and lots of tips and tricks are appreciated!
I have been watching your videos for the last couple of days and just love your videos, I teach high school culinary arts so I get a kick out of Elementary teachers, you guys have so much creativity! WELL DONE! :)
That is hilarious! Thank you so much for watching. I like to think that I am on the lower end of creativity compared to some other elementary teachers.
+Donna Erickson I am so excited for you! Teaching is so much fun. Best of luck and thanks for the sweet comment. Be sure to let me know how everything is going for you.
gosh! It's fantastic, that I'm not the only one carrying a cosmetic bag :-) I have the big one from IKEA... and have almost the same things inside as you XD. All my colleagues look at me as if I'm the crazy lady but are so thankful when I can lend them a pen or a gluestick or some tape :-)
Love your videos! Your personality totally shines through and your organisation (< British spelling!) is inspiring. Boden is an English brand - I am totally obsessed with Boden clothes.
+Claire Fisher that is amazing. I will definitely have to look into their clothing. I remember my mother telling me that is was an British brand. She said it is a lot like J Crew. Is that true?
I'm a teacher too :) Was classroom and teaching art this year. Did I hear you say you have kids? I have 2 toddlers. Do you struggle giving 100% at work and at home? I love my kids and my job but can struggle to balance at times. I'd love to see a video on how you balance both.. :)
+organisedlifestyle YES. The struggle is definitely real! All I can say is planning comes into play quite a bit. You have to manage and learn when to say no to school and yes to family. Try making a schedule for your everyday life plus my husband is a big supporter!!!!
Just found your channel and I love it! I'd love to see a video on how you manage your time, especially between your personal and professional life. I'm finishing up my degree this fall and I'm also married with 3 kids so I'm nervous about balancing it all lol
Girl, as I was watching this I was writing with my flare pens! They should really do bulk discounts on those babies for us teachers! I also love your buffalo check shirt, it's my favorite pattern! Where did you get it?? Good luck with school this week!
Hi there! I love your videos and find I can often truly relate as I am also a mom, wife and teacher. You mentioned making the leather midair journal yourself! Would you please consider doing a video or blog post detailing how you made it?!!!! Thank you!
Can you please send a link to that person planner you have? It looks perfect and exactly what I'm wanting however I can't seem to find any like it anywhere!! Thank you - love your videos! Newly subscribed 😁
Love your vids!! :) You would love the Pepperplate app. I keep all my recipes in there! It links online so no matter where I am I can access it on my phone, kindle, or laptop. They also have a section for meal planners, shopping lists, ect. But really, all I need is to be able to access the recipe and see what ingredients I need for it if I've forgotten to put it on my "Out of Milk" grocery shopping list app (also great, because you can share it with others - I'll share it with my boyfriend if he's willing to go to the store instead).
+PrincessLexiseLicious thank you for the ideas. I will definitely look into doing a classroom tour. As far as the OOTD... not sure I have much style but I will definitely consider it. Thank you!
Have you or could you do a video on your experience with student teaching while getting your degree? I start my first time in a classroom in August and i'm so nervous about what to really expect.
+PrincessLexiseLicious You are so kind. I am sure you will do great. Just remember that you teach for these kiddos that go to school every day who need a role model, a friend, and a hug!!!!!
I'm teaching pre-k ESOL inclusion(just meaning it's mixed with native English speakers) this year, so about 75% of my students speak limited or no English. I've done this before with all Esol students post college graduation -Cause pre-k didn't require a degree to teach- but over the last 3 years I've been teaching at Private schools and its been soo different that I feel like I've forgotten what this environment was like. I'm going to get the book you mentioned here, but do you have any other suggestions for books or just general tips about teaching Esol students?
As though it weren't bad enough that they poke you, they run around, they don't listen, they want you to tie their shoelaces, they want you to put bandaids on their small (but dangerous to touch cuts), now they vomit on you? Thanks! Now I know not to do elementary!
+Geralda Charles Oh lawd.... I'm awful at drawing and my life consists of many bad years.... probably not that interesting. Thanks for the comment. Have a great week!
You should try the Stabilo point 88 pens from amazon! My friends and I love them and all of our teachers use them too! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WGWJL0?keywords=stabilo%20point%2088&qid=1445339777&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2 thats the Link!!
+Joyce Erika Flores I am a die hard Hobby Lobby shopper. I love it. I have gotten a few on Easy. I jus went on Easy and searched planner stamps and so many pull up. It is wonderful!
+toocoolformiddleschool blog (toocoolforschoolblog) Just replied back! We've had all sorts of crazy happening at school and my hubs and I went on vacation to Las Vegas ;)
i really love your videos! :) can u do a video of a whole brain teaching and a morning rountine when u first wake up to when u go to bed thanks my real last name is now Dodson , Mrs. Dodson i hope u do those videos that i asked thanks! hope u have a great day :D
I feel like being a teacher in England most of this stuff is unsuitable to take into the classroom most places say no to your own iPad, planners have to be a lot more organised then that, and i dont know what would happen if a teacher brought a screwdriver into class. The teacher planner is way to small, personal belongings are not aloud in the classroom with the children, America has it so much easier. Sorry to rant in your comments but this is basically useless to me :(
+Heather Sorry you feel that way. Remember to stay positive. Every place, state, and school district is different. I am very lucky that my school is flexible and gives us more freedom than what you described. Good luck!!!!!
you are a class act! I've been teaching for 22 years and I feel like you are breathing new life into my teaching! I am binge watching your videos and have already made several changes for the positive for this year due to your sharing. My daughter is beginning her first year of teaching and I kept sending her all of your videos and just told her to subscribe herself because you are that amazing! Thank you, The Lettered Classroom! @theletteredclassroom
Thank you so much! It's great to hear when other teachers are able to implement lessons or tips and make them their own! Also, Thank you for sharing with your daughter, I hope she enjoys them as well!
Great ideas! Never would have thought of extra clothes!
+Alma Rodriguez You usually don't until it happens. Which is pretty much what happened to me.

+Jodie Harrison - :) thank you so much. I use a Sony A6000. I have my eye on a Canon but this Sony has served me well.
Man... My teacher bag is always full of crumpled papers, my car keys and wallet. I also stuff papers that I have to grade. Very disorganized
you seem like such a lovely
person - I wish you were a teacher in my school!
Please do a video on how to get ready for school and how to be healthy while being in a job
