Let me tell you something if u are watching this video to buy it: If you are buying the MICRO PUFF for autumn or cold summer nights or maybe to go climbing, its nice. But believe me , do not try the MICRO PUFF in winter time. If you are looking for a warm jacket for winter you should buy the DOWN SWEATER hoody jacket or the down hi loft hoody jacket. Plus they do not have the elastic at the bottom of the jacket, very uncomfortable. Down its going to be cheaper and warmer. I bought the micro puff because it was the most expensive and thought it was better but boy I was wrong, go with the down jacket. I bought the down jacket 6 months ago and its great for winter. The nano puff is a classic and it doesn't have the elastic band on the bottom, great jacket. I do not own one, but im thinking of changing my micro puff into a nano puff, better fit
valentin pons perhaps... but if you are in an area like me (Tasmania), I prefer the synthetic for the simple fact that it is much more resistant to moisture, and dries faster. Therefore when I am out and about, and it’s starts raining (which can occur here even on a sunny day in the middle of summer), I know that I am going to stay much warmer than if I had worn a down jacket. It essentially comes down to what activities and climate you are going to be wearing your jacket in/for... Each has pros and cons. Also, you can’t really compare this micro jacket to a 900 full jacket. It’s like comparing apples and pears. In addition, synthetic is usually cheaper than down, not the other way around. Unless that synthetic item is technically more enhanced or built for a special purpose (I.e. expedition etc.)
i have owned my nano puff since 2016. just now got it repaired since i wore it almost everyday. not gonna lie, the insulation has deteriorated quite much but then again i've used it climbing, long distance hiking and at work form 4 years. one pot my favourite jackets and I'm still going to used it for years. tips for making it last longer. don't stuff it into its pocket since it will compress the insulation, and machinewash it as little as possible.
The pockets are higher on the micro puff to accommodate the hip belt. So you can use the pockets when your wearing your pack. With the nano the pockets are covered by the packs hip belt.
Hey sdnalyam - that's a great tip, thanks for sharing! We usually travel with our jackets compressed and then hang them up as soon as we arrive at our destination. 😊👍 - Rebecca

Anyone else find the names of these jackets utterly confusing? Last I checked things described as “nano” are smaller than things described as micro... yet with these jackets the micro is the smaller packing, lighter one? This absolutely kills me.
Neither did I, or I forgot. I’ve the hooded Nano puff and just fold up the jacket then roll it up from the bottom and tuck it in the hood. Keeps it compact enough and is a lot quicker to deploy than stuffing/unstuffing from the pocket IMO.
Horrid review. No mention of the fact that the micro is significantly puffier in actual use and the nano wears flatter on the body. Patagonia claims about 800 fill down warmth on the micro. The micro isn't quite as warm as my down sweater but pretty close. Micro is definitely warmer than the nano though. Both breath fairly well. No complaints there. I own both and a nano vest.

The down sweater is not warmer than the micro puff... I own both and can say the down sweater is completely inferior. Couldn’t even keep me warm in 40 degree weather.
You have to remember that each jacket can fit differently which can also change how warm you feel in it. What is warmest for you might not be for someone else.

to be honest i still prefer my polar / hybrid (+ shell if necessary) over these when i am active physically as they breathe much better. if you are static or little cardio, then i guess these jackets are a better choice.
Looking for a good looking every day with me jacket, Not looking Like a Sport Jacket (Not patagonia Torrent Shell, No windbreaker or soft shell) that IS Water repalant, for 10c°+, movement should be easy in IT, Not Like the Jacket is Holding me Back, a few Pockets and Long lasting Material (If i Play with my Kids). Not that Important to be so small in Packung measures or so lightweight I bought a Geox Jacket 10years ago, this one is almost perfect, has zippers at sleeves to Roll the sleeves a Bit Up: perfect If IS getting Hot. Tried Patagonia baggies, but its a Bit to short. New Geox jackets have shiny Material. Some one any Ideas?

The higher pockets are so that you can still use them with a climbing hardness or a waist belt on ur backpack. Alpine jackets have high pockets too
Climbing harness as well as backpack hip belt or strap.
Thanks for sharing this feature with us, Oscar! 😊👍

Came to say this! Its for us climbers when wearing a harness

Higher pockets are generally to accommodate a harness or hip belt on a pack.
Micro Puff has long staple filling, will last a lot longer. Also pack these jackets loose, the insulation will last a lot longer.

Nano was the first one, they were too fast to name it :)
To confuse things further, they also have a 'macro' puff that is warmer than the nano & micro jackets :-)
Its the stitching. or squares that contain the insulation. Nano(smallest) has smaller squares than the micro.
Absolutely. Very confusing nomenclature. Dumb actually.
I have the nano puff and after watching the video learned that it compressed into the pocket 😱
Higher pocket allows better access while you have your pack on and hip belt around you.
I basically own at wearing Patagonia and trust me you will be happy with either
Bruh I have a nano puff and I didn’t even know there was a stuffing bag thingy
😄👍🙌

You might as well get the sweater down jacket, it packs into the inside pocket
Macro, micro,nano!
I like the chest pocket of the Nano Puff, but the drop in pockets of the Micro Puff seal the deal.
We're glad you've found what works for you, Paul! Is the Micro Puff going to be your go-to this winter? 😊

The nano puff fabric is twice the dernier of the micro.
they look like trash bags - are they as flimsy as they look?
It's 🗑 sh🤭
You didn't say what materials they are both made out of and have inside. What a bad review 👎
