Everybody's claiming that Paris (and France in-general) is the culinary "mecca" of our planet Earth.
From what I've seen by your channel (+Other awesome food channels like Simon & Martina) It's pretty much a tie between Taipei, Osaka and Tokyo. Maybe Paris has some good pastries and was the originator of the fine-dining experience (and the literally the word "Gourmet" is from French) but as it seems Taipei, Osaka and Tokyo seem like they just NAILED IT with culinary mastery while using simple, local ingredients without any fuss or unnecessary gimmicks. I mean... Japan seriously has restaurants awarded 1-3 Michelin Stars for perfecting /noodles, rice with fish on top, sticks of fried seafood!/
I mean there's not anything wrong with a very complex and luxurious dining experience but it really tells about mastery and just perfecting the art of your trade when you serve a piece of fish that's not even cooked on-top of perfectly made vinegar-ed rice and it's on-par or ever better than chefs preparing meals with 15-20 ingredients from all around the world taking weeks in-advance to prepare and cost hundreds of dollars worth of ingredients.

I went to Taiwan a few years back with my family and that sweet potato puff was our favorite. I think we ended up getting a few servings at different places! My other favorite was the Taiwanese sausage stuffed with cilantro. That was super delicious. Gees, watching you vids made me want to go back to Taiwan just for the night markets xD. Thanks for sharing the different kinds of foods. I'm drooling on the deep fried milk that you shared in your previous vlog that I googled how to make it at home ^^. Keep sharing!

Aloha e Mike. Some friends here from Hawaii who are visiting Taipei. Just needed to send you a mahalo for this video. We watched a few of your vids this afternoon before we went out to the Taoyuan Night Market. My husband saw the sweet potato "corn pops" you mentioned and he was determined to find some. Well we did and he went back to buy another bag and killed it by himself. I also saw your video on the Chinese medicine pork ribs- my mother used to make those for me when I was little and I had forgotten them. Well You reminded me of them and I was looking for them and found some. It was so good and a bit emotional remembering Mom. Mahalo Mike for your work- it's been helpful and if you're ever back in Hawaii let us know- we got more awesome places to take you to/tell you about ( like Alicia's Market). Hugs & aloha

I definitely want to check out the Jhongli Xinming night market now.
Shilin Night Market is right across the street from my son's school so we go there often after I pick him up. There are also delicious fresh avocado smoothies and Indian wraps that we like at this night market. :)
