  • The reason I have stopped using my LINE 6 HX Stomp Live!
This drives me absolutely nuts about this otherwise super versatile, incredibly useful`, powerful, compact Multi Effects Guitar amp Modeller pedal.

I use a Morningstar MC6 to do the switching via midi. It means you have an extra pedal on your board, but it also gives you access to extra buttons.

This is great feedback for a product manager.
This is how products get better - client constructive feedback.
    Cheers.

You are totally right. I have same problem. I never use it live for same reason. I would be a easy fix for Line6 in an update. 🙂

My solution is I have a Littlerobbie Pilot, it's a four button mini controller that only does the three snapshots and the Tap tuner. If you fumble two it will just pick the last one it senses, and it keeps the three on the HX free for bank or other changes as I see fit.

Can't you add an external 2 button footswitch for bank changes?

You can but it doesn't disable the 2 button thing.

Had that problem. 2 solutions. 1 was shoes, I bought some converse. 2, was setting up a backstar live logic midi switch. Assigning my 6 most used patches to the 6 buttons

I use a Headrush MX5 which simlarlty has three footswitches, I play and sing but I also wear size 13W shoes so I have to be somewhat surgical there and I cant wear pointy shoes, that would make it easier I suppose...

Nope, it doesn't happen for me... BUT... I think your feature request is really valid. Put it on idea scale. That's where they look for these things.

I was considering using my hx stomp live. I tried it out at practice and had the same problem you described. Still not used it live yet.

I wish L6 would expand double-press by giving us the option to assign different functionality to it - access the tuner by pressing left two switches, bank up/down by pressing right two switches, etc. I could get away with not needing a TT2 live if this happened.
I've made this error a few times live myself, the long-press would be a great option on top of all of that. But frankly, I've just had to practice not messing up

Why not just get a midi ?

I love it with bass. I run it through its own loop with my LS-2 so I can stack with all my other pedals. I also like its small relative to the HX Stomp. Position doesn’t matter with this thing. I think he’s missing the point here.

I feel you on that! I got one issue with the hx stomp the damn tuner. Ft3 is important to me we should be able to tune on any of the foot switches my work around is the morning star mc3 but still should be able to do that just like the fractal fm3

I agree. A single long press on any switch would work for that.

Hello, the same thing has happened to me too, I still use it but now I am a little more careful when stepping😂

I agree but I think it's a problem not unique to the line 6. That's probably why it went off the radar so to speak. I also have a problem when pedal manufactures build the foot switch too far into the chassis rather then near the edge. I also really hate the strymon / origin effects stiff "non click" footswitches. It seems you set me off on a little foot switch problem rage I didn't know was building inside me here haha.

Actually, I had this happen too once! I played Innuendo by Queen with an Orchestra. I´ve had a whole bank set up for my classical nylon guitar. I wanted to switch to Snap3 for that flamenco-part and by accident, I went one bank up and got my heavy distorted lead tone. you´ll know the squeeling that happens when an acoustic guitar has tons of gain?!? Well.... I was fu%3ed up but some gys of the Orchestra had their fun at least. Never got called again, though.

You can make the switches do whatever you want through the Command Center. Problem solved.

Apart from that the sounds are rubbish on the HX Stomp, so it' not worth buying anyway. I returned mine a long time ago and moved on to better things.
