Personally, backtrackening is one of the things I look forward to in any playthrough like this: it's very satisfying. So there is at least _some_ audience for that type of activity!
I do like that the icon that pings whenever there's an item in the room also shows what kind of item it is - a photo, an ability point, a disc, an upgrade or a cat in a pot
Your backtrackening is good, it’s neat to see all the little hidden things. I played the game with the extra time for timed puzzles on which allows for alternate solutions and slower gamers like me. It’s nice to see what the intended solutions were.
I will join the chorus to say that I enjoy backtrackening (yaaaayyy) episodes! They're very chill. I think perhaps because there's not plot or boss fights generally, we get to hear you ramble a bit more, and I enjoy that! Plus it tends to show off the little details of a game in a lovely way.
7:04 Okay, who snitched? 7:16 Aw, Pebble, that's not how these things work, bud. 7:30 Oh, is this place like Dante's Inferno? Like this is the light sentence? 7:34 Ah, you're bluffing, got it. 8:48 Wailer was such a good boy. 9:08 It's okay, buddy, you can have a new pack now. 23:00 Reminds me of the platforms you have to hookshot to in the Water Temple before you get the longshot. 29:31 Ugh, Roy had the worst neighbors. 42:35 Oh, hey, it tells you what the hint is for when you enter the room. Neat.
I am a big fan of Backtrackenings, they are really cathartic and scratch that completion itch with the fun bonus of stomping enemies that were roadblocks or just jerks early on in the playthrough with all the skill and abilities you gained over the course of the game. Backtrackenings are fun comparisons of where you were at the start and your progression to where you are now. And who doesn't love more SHINIES they might be new toys, honeydew, or other good stuff.
The backtrackenings are fun to watch through your commentary. Like, sure there's not sick boss fights or anything super flashy, but that means you have more brain space for chit-chatting.
My tactical brain insists on pointing out that the "bonus trash for defeating 10 foes without getting hit" ability has an obvious synergy with the "defeat 15 foes without getting hit" curse. It may not be something you want to have equipped all the time, but, particularly with the extra ability points being picked up, it could probably have been added in without changing anything else about the build, and help with buying more hints... I do enjoy the backtrackening (within reason - I can imagine it getting overdone).
if i recall correctly from my playthrough, the game automatically pops you out from the dig when the boss does certain attacks, so you can't just camp down there
I not only enojy the backtracking, it really rubs me the wrong way when you don't do it. knowing that you've left the stuff undone actually it kinda frustrating as a viewer. Some ridiculous stuff i can ignore, but stuff that as easy as just buying hints or exploring doors is stuff i really hope you get done. if you don't its like an itch that i can't scratch.
Backtrackening episodes are great fun! They're really satisfying
I love the back tracking to find the things episodes!
This backtrackening is very satisfying with the hint system and how close you were to completion already. And the excellent editing helps!

For me these backtrackening episodes are extremely satisfying! I love seeing you pick the map clean
Something tells me the final set of photos is going to tell Kendra's story. I wonder if it will redeem her behavior even a little bit.
I'm looking forward to the court of public opinion on Kendra. I don't expect an acquittal of course but she did surprise me.

I like the backtracking! At least one upgrade point I’ve been waiting for you to go back and find for a long time lmao
Backtrackening is one of my favorite parts of watching you play this type of game. Not enough chicka chicka sound effects though..
I find the backtrackenings (yyyyyaaaaaayyyy) very satisfying

I am a completionist so I enjoy the great backtrackening episodes.
I enjoy the backtrackenings. Just constant doses of finding new stuff.

I speak only for me, but I love the Backtracking episodes. Definitely merch worthy.

Nothing wrong with backtrackening so long as it's edited well!

Backtrackening are some of my favorite episodes!
Finding all the hidden secrets is one of my favourite things! 🎉

11:29 to be honest, if someone just walked up to me and their ghost intern started shooting me, I’d probably turn into a boss fight too
Personally really love backtrackening stuff, just to offer some reassurance
Pluto Two-Tries since Dan appears to take only 2 attempts to beat all but one boss in this game so far.
Adding my vote to the "backtracking good" consensus
this would make such a good randomizer
💙
I wonder, if during the Grief boss fight, you could stay dug and just let Suds scrub the boss for ya.
if i recall correctly from my playthrough, the game automatically pops you out from the dig when the boss does certain attacks, so you can't just camp down there
I have no problems with you backtracking in any game especially since the videos are so well edited.
I'm calling it now, the Palace and this place are both part of "the Good Place", and Kendra is doing all this just to keep ghosts from getting bored
Huh.
Putting in another vote in favor of the backtrackenings! Theyre a highlight of any late game you do.
Yay backtrackening!!!
