A few years ago I was mocked, insulted, and even threatened with violence by a muslim that i occasionally worked for. This person constantly tried to push his religion on me and would keep starting conversations about it. He also loved to talk trash about American culture, claiming that we should have sharia law. From my greatly increased knowledge, i now realize his attitude was totally in line with what Muslims are supposed to do instead of have a rational, courteous, respectful discussion.

A few years ago I was mocked, insulted, and even threatened with violence by a muslim that i occasionally worked for. This person constantly tried to push his religion on me and would keep starting conversations about it. He also loved to talk trash about American culture, claiming that we should have sharia law. From my greatly increased knowledge, i now realize his attitude was totally in line with what Muslims are supposed to do instead of have a rational, courteous, respectful discussion.

A look at Islam's holy book, the Quran, may qualify the vehement displays of innocence. The following verses are cases in point:

Quran (5:51): "Don't take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them."

Quran (5:51): "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."
